Why cant I resume the encryption. I connect the power and nothing happens. I retart with power added and I get a "Calculating time remaining" then right back to the title message. I just bought this Macbook Air and already this issue has happened and its drawing quite a bit of battery power. Also Apps using significant energy shows "Reverting from Filevault"...this does not look good on Mac

I'm trying to download the new ios update for my iphone, but it's 750MB and takes a long time to download. But that was ok, because apple at least added a resume button. But now I can't get to the download screen to resume. Where is the download screen? I tried going through the store, but its not listed in the history of purchases since it wasn't actually retrieved from the store. How do I get to this screen to resume my download?
I am trying to create a resume in pages '08, but the header on the resume template is way too big for my purposes. I would like to shrink it so I can fit ~ 2 more lines of text onto the first page.
I have tried 1. exporting it to word 2. clicking everywhere in on the page 3. shrinking the line spacing between subheaders and sections, but it was not enough. 4. swearing
Is it possible to make the spacing of the header smaller, or am I just sol?
I installed lion, now my screen saver does not work. I have tried all the hot corners, nothing. Dashboard and mission control work fine but cannot start screen saver.
I have two annoying issues and hopefully one of you can help. i have looked around and cannot find an answer to my question, especially my second one (which i think is connected to the first one). I am using Safari 5.1.3 and OS X 10.7.3. One of the accounts works perfectly, the other has two issues:
1 - Safari will always start with the same set of old windows, even closing some of them and then reopening safari will always get us to the same old set of windows. I understand the (new) standard behavior is that if i open windows A, B and C and then quit Safari, at reopening it will open the same windows A, B, and C. If i now proceed to close window (or tab) C and then quit Safari at the next opening i shouldbe presented with A and B only. This is not the case for me, i am presented still with A, B, and C. I can add to the windows but not subtract. Clearly something is wrong here. Thoughts?
2 - Trying to debug problem 1 i decided to close all the winodws in Safari, then in System Preferences-General uncheck the "Restore windows when ..." and so i hoped that closing Safari and reopening would get me to just the homepage, but this was not the case and i was presented with the same old set of windows. This is easily explained by the fact that under system prefs-general the box i had unchecked was still checked. It lets me uncheck it but does not retain it.... I obviously tried rebooting to no avail.
It seems that since 10.7.3, the "Resume" "FEATURE" now does not obey the setting the General Control Panel (I have Resoter windows when quitting and re-openning apps un checked). I have an app that is causing the system to hang, but when I send shutdown -h now as root from the terminal and then restart the machine, ALL the applicatinos and their windows reopen, no matter what I do, including the one that is hanging.
I've bought Macbook pro yesterday and checked for software updates. But unfortunately my internet modem restarts for about 10 seconds, and I lost my update. Why doesn't the update resume by itself?
I am trying to download the Lion .dmg image using the Lion Recovery partition. My connection is flaky, and keeping a connection for the number of hours the downloader indicates is pratically impossible. Everytime If restart the download, the installer throws away what I downloaded previously. How can the downloder be made to resume a previous download? (This is a pre-installed copy of Lion, so the App Store is not an option)
When I resume from sleep the top half of the screen is grey'ed out and it won't go away without going through Shut Down. Just restarting has no effect.
FYI Just had a look at the sgcreenshot now that its been uploaded and its considerably brighter than the actual screen. In reality the top menu bar is almost completely occluded and the tone graduates out from about 90% black at the top to around 10% black at the centre of screen.
If my time machine is backing up to time capsule and the backup size is big like 100 GB. Can I shutdown and resume after startup maybe next day? Will it verify and backup correctly?
My HP Photosmart 3210 all-in-one wouldn't initialize and sent error messages after I installed Snow Leopard yesterday. I went on the HP support network, which gave me a solution that sometimes works and sometimes doesn't, plus in the past I never had to take all the extra steps to scan a photo. The HP support site claims that upgrades for HP Printer devices was included with Snow Leopard. So why can't I just press the scan button like I used to?
I turn off Imac, using apple menu. Sometimes the power button will work to turn it on, other times it won't. Been to 2 authorized dealers, they can't find problem. Sometimes jiggling or shaking computer will allow me to start using power button. Sometimes I open up case, plug and unplug everything, and then power button will work. Never know when it will work or not. Power button has had continuity check. It checks fine. Power plug is fine, outlet is fine.

I've had issues with this before but now I can't seem to get the scroll button to work for any longer than 10 minutes or so. I have used clean cloth or mousepad to work button so that it works and used spray can air to clean out still...only works for a short time before it stops scrolling up or down. If anyone else has had this issue and solved it, can you let me know how to fix mine? I am feeling like this thing is a piece of junk right now.
The only way can restart my Intel iMac27" desktop is to reach around at the back bottom left of the computer and hold the button down for about 6 seconds, If I don[t I just get the spinning wheel. After I restart manyally I get the gray apple logo and the same spinning wheel - and then it startsup fine. Reinstalled software several times.
just about every printer connected to any of the notebook's USB ports. Strangely, there was one she found that still did work. The problem started some weeks after the fresh Leopard install, so it doesn't seem directly connected to that. Print jobs she starts are instantly paused, and can't be restarted, printer utility gives her the error message "Operation could not be completed, client-error-not-possible". Reinstalling the 3rd party printer drivers and removing/readding the printers in system preferences didn't help. She can still print via WLAN and my own MacBook Pro connected to our printer (the printer on her system configured as a "wireless printer"), so in principle all still seems to work. Also, the USB ports still work with other devices. I've also repaired permissions on her 'book and we installed the 10.5.6 Combo update againboth no success. I'm at a loss of ideas does somebody else have any tips about what to do, apart from reinstalling Leopard?
I started the OS 10 Maverick update and needed to pause it to do other work more efficiently. After I read some of the 3, 2, and 1 star reviews I decided I no longer want to update my computer at this time. Can I cancel it completely now that it is paused?
