OS X V10.7 Lion :: Any Way To Change Name That Photo Browser Displays
Jun 16, 2012
When I access the photo browser in Mail to add a photo to an email, the image names that the browser displays are the file names for each image.I would like it to display the caption that I have applied to each image. Aperture is my photo program. Is there any way to change the name that photo browser displays? Alternatively, is it possible to change the file names for the images to match the captions?
When composing Mail and using the Photo Browser to insert a photo, iPhoto no longer has any folders or events listed under it. It is just a listing of every photo in my library. I tried repairing permissions in disk utility, and reinstalled iPhoto and updates, but the folders do not appear.
Is there a way to change the way Mail displays attachments? I hate how when attaching certain file types, such as PDF, instead of just showing multiple attachments in a nice little list, it shows you the whole freaking preview of the attachment and you lose track of what file (or type) it even is in the process.
Does anyone know how I could go about removing the blue 'screen' or flash I get when my display setup changes?
I have my HDTV setup as another monitor and whenever I turn it on or off the displays all flash blue, OSX resyncs the setup it would seem. Is there any way to prevent this? or override it?
Just got my lovely new imac - it uploaded all my settings from my old mac and on that computer i had firefox as my default browser and it has retained that setting, and I want to change it back to safari and I can't figure out how. I know it must be simple, but.
Ive always used FireFox but recently changed to Safari. When Im using Adium and I click a Link some one sends me it is opening in FF, how do I change my "default browser" in Adium to Safari?
Since I installed Firefox 12, I can't change my default browser preferences in Safari. Safari defaults to Firefox 12 no matter what browser I select. Anyone else having this problem? Mac OS 10.7.3, Safari 5.1.5 & Firefox 12.

Is there an aftermarket software that can help me change the resolution of the photo that I have taken? I have taken pictures with high resolution, but I won't be able to send them out using email. I need to find a third party software or to lower the resolution of the photo.
A friend of mine recently bought a new iMac and unfortunately turned it on for the first time and wasn't ready for that initial picture it takes of you. That picture it took is now attached to all her emails and she ain't happy
How can this picture either be retaken turned off or changed??
I had my photo taken during the setup which came out a little fuzzy. Have been trying to replace it now that I am using it but could'nt find the way to do it. Have already installed album photos where I can select one to replace this. This photo appears during sign in to the notebook. Also, since I have a 4 peripherals to use and there are only two USB ports, can I attach a hub to have all four attached. They consist of 1 Wireless mouse, 1 printer and 2 external HD.
I have a prime iCloud account that I use to maintain a single address book and calendar. That way my wife and myself can both keep our address book and calendar the same and current. The iCloud account is in my name using my Apple ID and my wife's Mac is logged in to this account. Both of our Macs have a photo asssociated with our log on IDs. As long as my wife's Mac is logged in to iCloud (the desired situation) the log on photo that appears on her Mac is my photo not hers. I can succcessfulyl change it back to hers using the "Users and Groups" from the "Systems Preferences", but in no time at all it gets changed to my photo. I have isloated the problem to iCloud by having her Mac not logged in to my iCloud account and her photo remains unchanged, as I would expect.Â
On her Mac, I have reset the PRAM and executed a safe boot in an attempt to flush any strange data. I have not tried deleting any preferences files as I am not sure which ones to try.Â

How do I change where photos are saved from photo stream? Right now when they are just in iphoto I cant access them when i go to upload a photo to email/blog/fb. I want them to be more easily accessible for upload automatically, like go into a folder rather than the iphoto app in the Pictures folder.
just updated to LION 10.07.3. / MacPro 3.1 The two displays run fine before under 10.5. (Samsung Syncmaster)They are conected analog, because the digital inputs used by another MacPro (The system is configered to switch just the inputs of the both displays beteween AVID (digital input) and ProTools (analog input) on different macs) Now upgraded to 10.7 Lion they are dedected as VGA displays. And showing 4:3 screens. Using System Conf. -> displays -> detect displays, they are both detected right as syncmaster. Both displays are automaticaly switched to 1680 x 1050.Great! That ist the right resolution! But only one of the displays is now showing the full screen correct. The other display is masking the screen to a 4:3 picture, so that part of the screen-content is covered under that mask...Â
A few days ago i wanted to adjust the resolution of the external screen i'm using with my 2011 MBP and the Displays preference pane had disappear from the System Preferences menu.
While passing by the monitors icon on the top bar, it launch the System Preferences and return the following message:Â
Could not install Displays preferences pane.Â
It seems like some system files went missing. Any idea on how to retore them without doing a reinstallation from the recovery disk?
I have been using Parallels Desktop for a while now and I was trying to free up some space on my hard drive. I deleted the parallels.log file which was approx. 45 GB in size. Upon emptying my trash, it was still in use by a service. So I forced it to delete by choosing secure erase trash. It took too long so I was going to stop the service and remove it without securely erasing it. However when I cancelled the process, it took even longer. I had 45 GB free of a 500 Gb hard drive before I started and I was wanting to free enough for a Windows Bootcamp with a 60 GB HDD for development purposes. After it finished, the finder was stating that I had 37.5 GB free. Upon investigation and running the daily weekly and monthly scripts as well as Onyx to empty the trash again. I was still showing the same amount. As I removed other items I no longer needed the free space increased. I ran disk utility to verify permissions and the disk, but upon running a gui program to find large files, it only stated that my drive was ~465 GB, which since it is usually 499.97 GB this is obviously where my problem is. How can I get my Mac to rediscover that lost hard drive space?

All of a sudden my macbook A1278 late 2008 doesn't connect to the WiFi network and displays the message Wi-Fi: No hardware installed. (it connects fine with a cable)
Macbook Pro 13" (2011) Upon startup, displays a grey screen, then after a few seconds, the logon screen, I would logon, then it would show the Apple White boot screen, then it would ask me to log on again (sometimes)

I would like to import not only bookmarks but also extensions from another browser (better yet, if I can just access the same browser that another user is using on the same computer, without having to move things to the 'shared' folder under the 'users' , that would be the best)Also I would like to make all applications and everything from other users to be available for other users without having to put it into the shared folder. Is this possible?

I have a brand new iMac running latest Lion and I'm not able to view videos in any browser. I tried Safari, Firefox and Chrome and the space where the video should be is either blank or black.
I'm having trouble opening links on some websites recently. It acts the same on different browsers, click on a link and nothing... I can open the link in a new tab no problem, but don't want to have to do this all the time. I can open the very same pages no problem on my macbook pro, which is running osx lion also and the same browser versions.

I have been trying to download different files from different sites and regardless of the browser I am using it will start downloading and stop at usually under 1meg and then stall and just keep adding the estimated download time. I have very fast internet connection so that isn't the problem and I can download files from emails etc, just seems to have problems with applications that I try and download from sites.
