I have Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 on my iMac. I also have iPhoto as it came with the iMac when I bought it. I don't really want to use iPhoto at all. I want to use PSE. How do I set my computer to open PSE when I insert my memory card or when I plug in my iPhone or for any other thing that uses photos? Can I just completely uninstall iPhoto?

Is there an aftermarket software that can help me change the resolution of the photo that I have taken? I have taken pictures with high resolution, but I won't be able to send them out using email. I need to find a third party software or to lower the resolution of the photo.

I have a prime iCloud account that I use to maintain a single address book and calendar. That way my wife and myself can both keep our address book and calendar the same and current. The iCloud account is in my name using my Apple ID and my wife's Mac is logged in to this account. Both of our Macs have a photo asssociated with our log on IDs. As long as my wife's Mac is logged in to iCloud (the desired situation) the log on photo that appears on her Mac is my photo not hers. I can succcessfulyl change it back to hers using the "Users and Groups" from the "Systems Preferences", but in no time at all it gets changed to my photo. I have isloated the problem to iCloud by having her Mac not logged in to my iCloud account and her photo remains unchanged, as I would expect.
On her Mac, I have reset the PRAM and executed a safe boot in an attempt to flush any strange data. I have not tried deleting any preferences files as I am not sure which ones to try.

When I access the photo browser in Mail to add a photo to an email, the image names that the browser displays are the file names for each image.I would like it to display the caption that I have applied to each image. Aperture is my photo program. Is there any way to change the name that photo browser displays? Alternatively, is it possible to change the file names for the images to match the captions?

Anyone know how? The old Tiger trick [URL]
doesn't seem to work..
On the plus side, I could never get Photos in Tiger Front Row to work at all! Leopard Front Row works like a charm (except the dang music!)
How do I change where photos are saved from photo stream? Right now when they are just in iphoto I cant access them when i go to upload a photo to email/blog/fb. I want them to be more easily accessible for upload automatically, like go into a folder rather than the iphoto app in the Pictures folder.

View 10 Replies View RelatedI am new to apple, just purchased an iMac off craigslist, and have a personalization question. I was able to change the user name and all that info just fine but when my computer first turns on and I am prompted to log in the previous owner has a text below the apple icon that I would like to change. Right now it says "Daves ********** iMac" well my name is not Dave and I don't care to have that on there every time i go to log in. I have done a lot of searching and found where I can "change login text" but that is for one of the texts, not the one I am trying to figure out.. here is a sample picture, the text I have circled in red is the text I am trying to change, the text saying macbook pro is the only text I have successfully changed. (This is just a picture I got off the inter-web, not my actual login)

I've made sure it's plugged in properly, and still no luck. What's wrong with it? Do i need to take it to an Apple store?

I'm using iPhoto 8.0.2 and want to upload to Flickr, but the login data are incorrect in iPhoto, and I see no way of changing the info.Clicking "Flickr" just shows a message "Login failed - The login details or auth token passed were invalid." and no way to change anything. Same happens if I choose "Flickr" from the menu under "share".

A normal screen, a projector and a USB-to-DVI converter. When I log in the login screen appears on either the projector or the converter screens. Not on the normal screen. When I first setup my OSX laptop, my filevault and user login password were the same. At bootup, I only had to login once (with my username and password).I recently changed my OSX password but my filevault / disk encryption password was not changed. Now I have to login twice when I boot up (first with my old pass, then with the new one).Is there any way to change the disk encryption password so I can be in sync with my login password?I tried Disk Util > File > Change Password, but it is greyed out.

When I return and move the mouse or hit a button on the keyboard the login screen is simply black with the login field in the center. Q: Is there a way to change the color or set a background image for this screen? It is not the same screen that appears if I log out...the one with the gray linen with Apple logo. It is just plain black.
