Apr 29, 2012I can find not reference for Canon drivers for my Canon MG5350 being available for use with Lion OS?

View 1 RepliesCanon says "due to certain incompatibilities between Mac OS X Lion (10.7) and our previously released Mac OS X 10.6 Printer and Fax drivers, you may not be able to print and an error log file will be generated that could potentially fill up the hard drive of your Macintosh computer."[url]

How can I determine if SL will be compatible with my ancient Canon i865?
(other than installing SL and finding out directly of course :-)
When I send a file from my XP workstation to the Canon LBP-3000 printer connected to my Airport Extreme Base Station I get the following XP Incorrect port message: "The port to which the printer is connected is not supported. Check the port."
I am trying to use a Canon LBP-3000 printer that is connected to the USB port on my Airport Extreme Base Station from a computer running Windows XP. The AEB is connected to an ethernet port on the same XP computer.
I have installed the latest LBP-3000 printer driver from the Canon .au website.
The TCP/IP port settings have been set up as follows:
Port name: IP_10.0.1.1
IP address: 10.0.1.1
Protocol: Raw
Raw settings port no: 9100
Note that the printer works normally when connected as a local printer via a USB port on the XP host.
I am running Windows XP Home version 2002 SP3 The printer driver is titled "Canon Advanced Printing Technology for Canon LBP3000 R1.12 Ver.3.02.0.005 (Windows 2000/XP/Server 2003/Vista)"
The AEB firmware version is 7.5.1
Note that I am able to print via the AEB/USB to my Epson Stylus printer using the exact same setup as above (except for the printer driver).
Here's what's going on:Â
I'm using OS X 10.7.3. I'm in System Preferences > Print & Scan. I click the + to add my Canon MX870, which is connected to my wireless network. I select it under "Nearby Printers". It says:Â
"Software for this printer is available from Apple. Would you like to download and install it?"Â
I click "Download and Install". When the progress bar reaches the end, it says:Â
"The software for this printer is currently unavailable. Please contact the printer's manufacturer for the latest software."Â
So. I download the latest driver from Canon (version 10.51.2.0) and install it. I go back to add the printer, and I get the same message.Â
I then download the latest printer software from Apple (version 2.8, which includes MX870 series drivers version 10.51.2.0) and install them. I go back to add the printer, and I get the same message.Â
So. Instead of selecting it under "Nearby Printers", I choose "Add other printer or scanner", which brings up the "Add Printer" dialog box. My printer shows up as a "Bonjour Multifunction". I select it and "Print Using" defaults to "MX870 series". It says "The selected printer software is available from Apple. Click Add to download it and add this printer."Â
So. I click "Add". It goes through the motions again, eventually bringing me back to this:Â
"The software for this printer is currently unavailable. Please contact the printer's manufacturer for the latest software."Â
All of the Bonjour settings are ON in the printer settings.Â
Using the Canon utilities still brings me to the "Add Printer" dialog box. How can I add this printer??

We have a Canon MF4380dn (similar to MF4370dn) and we cannot print to it from a MacBook Pro that is running Lion 10.7.3 We have tried connecting via USB and via network and have installed the latest UFR II 2.30 driver from Canon. We have completely removed the drivers and re-added them with no success. It can see the printer when it is connected either via USB or via network and it adds the software correctly. However, whenever we try to print a test page it seems to send it to the printer and then it immediately disappears and no page prints

I have a Macbook Air running Lion. I have been struggling to set up a network printer that has worked for years on Windows and Linux clients (I think it worked with Snow Leopard as well). The set up is a Silex print server C-6200U+ v 2.3.1 with a Canon ip4300 connected to it's USB port. The driver is version 10.51.2.0 and CUPS is version1.5.1. All the latest revs. Currently other clients on the network print using LPR to queue 'lp' on a TCP/IP port. In Windows 7 this is all configurable though the gui with a mouse so I'm not doing anything clever. I have tried a number of iterations of set up on the Mac using CUPS Admin interface and also the System Preferences route. The closest to success has been to set it up as LPD protocol on a fixed ip address with queue 'lp', from this configuration I can successfully print a test page from CUPS or 'Print and Scan'. However when it comes to a 'real' print job from Preview or Word or Adobe, nothing much happens. The print queue says it is 'copying the Print Data' or similar but it just hangs indefinitely.Â

I just purchased a Time Capsule for my Mac, and now I am able to hook up a Canon laser printer directly to it. My Mac recognizes the printer connected to the Time Capsule, but keeps aksing me to "Choose a Driver or Printer Model" when I am setting it up. I have downloaded the Canon print driver from the Canon website and I can find the Canon folder on my hard drive. However, it seems that I can't fine the actual driver.

I've always had problems using my Canon MP560 with my MBP (13" early 2011).Â
The main problem I am currently having is that when I send multiple jobs to the printer, it enters pause mode between each job; I have to go into the printer queue and click Resume to print the next job.Â
I've removed and readded the printer countless times over the last six months and I worry that if I have to do the same again I'll just be confronted with yet another problem...Â

We have a Canon ImageRunner C5185i here in our office. We have Department ID Management enabled for color printing. I've tried every available combination of drivers from Canon's site and I just can't seem to get our department ID's to pass through to the printer, even though I've stored them in the printer settings.Â
Most of the time, if I can even get the print job to make it to the printer, the status says "On hold (Authentication required)". Even if I get into the printer settings and enter my department ID, it won't let me verify the ID against the copier. It almost always fails. I've enabled the "Job Accounting" in the driver settings and put my department ID in the driver utility. My current status, which is the closest to success I've gotten, is that the job makes it to the printer and simply says "Printer is in use. Waiting for the print job to finish." There are no other print jobs in memory on the device. I'm using the Canon iR C5185 UFR II (US) driver at this time and it seems to get me closer than any other driver from Canon.Â

I am totally confused about my all-in-one. Before Lion I used it successfully for printing and scanning, both using USB and Ethernet connection. I can't recollect using it wirelessly. I'd like to use it wirelessly now, but I have problems. The printer works very unreliably, getting connection error from time to time, and the scanner does not work at all. When I open Canon IJ Network Scanner Selector, I see my scanner but I can't select it. The radio buttons are disabled and 'Do Not Use' is selected. I did completely reinstall the printer, removed all the drivers and Canon software, with no luck. All I need is for it to wirelessly print reliably and scan using Image Capture.

My LiDE 210 scanner which has worked in the past using OSX10.7 but it now says "insufficient memory" each time I launch MP Navigator EX 4.0. open MP Navigator and select 'View and Use', where it says 'Specify the scanned location', select a different scanner location to see if this resolves the issue. I am unable to do this as I get the "insufficient memory" message immediately I double click on the Canon software. If this did not resolve the issue, they recommended uninstalling and re-installing the latest drivers, which I have done but with no solution to the problem. I haved repaired permissions, checked printers in the library and there does not seem to be anything missing or conflicting. I cannot find any reference to TWAIN in the Library and finally the basic scanner functions are available using Image Capture.Â

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an Airport Extreme Base Station set up that is connected to my modem. I purchased a new Airport Express that I have used to extend my network. I plugged my Canon MF8050cn printer into the USB port of the airport express. I've added the printer successfully, but when I try printing to the Canon via wifi, I get this error: Â
"Canon CMFP Printer Driver; Printer is not responding.Check the printer power and connection, and then try sending printing job again." Printer power is on and connected correctly. As a side note, I am able to print to the printer successfully when I plug the printer into my macbook air directly via USB. So I have two printers added, "Canon - USB" and "Canon - Wifi". The latter is the one that gives me the error. I purchased the airport express so I could print wirelessly as I'm unable to move my printer closer to the Base Station.Â

View 2 Replies View RelatedTrying to scan a sheet to my MacBook Air running Lion, but whenever I open the scanner from the System Preferences, it just stays like this and nothing happens. Reading around, it appears that you can't use the MX350 scanner over WiFi using Lion. It works perfectly on my iMac running Snow Leopard 10.6.8 but unfortunately I can't use that right now.
I've tried inserting a USB stick formatted with Mac OS (Journaled) and it doesn't want to do anything, I've tried installing multiple scanner drivers from the Canon website, I've also tried to do a software update. I am new to Mac. Recently I bought a Macbook Air with OS X v10.7. I have a ADSL router with the Canon printer with fixed IP 192.168.2.100. I have a wireless router connected to the ADSL router. This wirless rouer is in another subnet 192.168.3.0.My Windows 7 notebook I am able to print wirelessly to the Canon using a manual configuration (IP printing). As for the Mac, I have installed the latest Canon CUPS drivers and the Canon IJ Network Tool. I use the Canon IJ Network tool, I am not able to scan for the printer. I configure manually with the IP address such as IPP://192.168.2.100 but it still cannot print. The status of printer goes from idle to busy.

I've been having a pretty annoying problem with my Canon i560: When printing black text, instead of using the black ink, the printer mixes black from the color inks. This has been a problem for a little while but recently, the colors got a little offset so it became really obvious. Also, I just received an update for the Canon printer drivers and according to the Apple page, the Canon i560 is supported and the drivers are actually updated I'm pretty sure that it's a driver problem because I can print from a Windows virtual machine to the exactly same printer all other variables remaining the same - and guess what: When printing from Windows, black is black, colors are colors, as one would expect with this kind of printer.
