Has anyone got a work around for the Canon IPF500 printer.
I need to get this working, but waiting for new driver to be released from Canon.
Anyone know any temporary fixes?
I had trouble with my printer before and I did everything from resetting it to the LAN setup, enabling bonjour, and when I enable bonjour on the printer, it worked the first time. But now months later, when I try to print, it says, 'communication error'. I deleted the printer and tried adding it again using the system preferences, printer&fax, then pressing the '+' button to add the printer but for some reason, the printer doesn't show up.

I was wondering if anybody knows why my canon i9900 printer is printing so slow in snow leopard. I have updated the drivers with the latest that apple released.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'v been running Leopard on my wife's MacBook Pro since we got it in May. We have a Canon MF4150 attached to it via USB and have been sharing it out from the Mac. I have been using Bonjour and have been printing just fine from both my XP machine and my daughter's Vista machine. I just upgraded to Snow Leopard. I upgraded the drivers to the Snow Leopard compatible drivers from Canon and everything prints fine from the Mac. However, whenever we try to print from one of the Windows machine I get this popup on the Mac: "Canon UFR II Printer Driver key value specified for ticket does not exist.: 15512" And the printer is now "paused" whatever that means. When I try to unpause it, I get that some popup error. I end up having to delete the printer and re-add it to get printing (from the Mac) working again. I've deleted and re-added the printer many times. I even went to far as to remove the drive on the Mac manually (according to Canon's directions) and reinstall. I've deleted/recreated the printers on Windows using the Bonjour wizard.

Tree connect failed (NT_STATUS_BAD_NETWORK_NAME) I then downloaded new drivers from Canon but still get the same error.
I am using a wired connection on the printer and the iMac. The printer still works on a separate XP machine.

I have downloaded Canon driver 10.51.2.0. I tried Navigator Ex 3.1 . All Apple updates have been run. I tried removing printer and bonjour scanner and reinstalling. All ng. I cannot launch from " Solutions Menu ". Printer does print. If I try and scan from image capture it scans very very slow and is not accurate. I tried connecting with a usb cable and not using the wifi. Still ng.

My current specs as below:iMac Core 2 Duo 2.66GHz. 20 Inch. 4GB Ram. 320GB HDD. Nvidia 9400M Graphics Card..Currently running 10.5.8. As previously i tried to upgrade to Lion but it says my computer is unable to process installation, I am not sure if it's because i did not upgrade from Snow Leopard. Canon says "due to certain incompatibilities between Mac OS X Lion (10.7) and our previously released Mac OS X 10.6 Printer and Fax drivers, you may not be able to print and an error log file will be generated that could potentially fill up the hard drive of your Macintosh computer."[url]

I have a canon mx700 printer.I just upgraded to snow leopard 10.6.8 and now my printer is no longer working. This is probably the 50th time I have had this problem. It always occurs whenever I update my apple software. I have tried reseting my settings, updating my drives and trying to connect the printer directly into my computer and over my network without any success. Upon resetting my drives I keep getting this error  a communication error has occurred.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm by no means very tech savvy. When I tried to install Windows XP (Home Edition) on my Macbook Pro via bootcamp, I experienced a bit of trouble. I partitioned the hard drive as instructed, then inserted the Windows XP installation disk and hit continue. This is when the computer more or less took over and started doing it's own thing. After a while the screen went blue and the windows install prompts were flashing across the screen. At this point I'm still thinking all is good; I accepted the terms of use etc.
However, once the install was complete, it kept asking me to insert the Windows XP Home edition CD. Even though it was already in the disk drive. I tried to hit continue but it kept taking me back to the screen asking for the disk to be inserted. Eventually I quit out of the install (upon doing so the screen prompted me the install did not work), ejected the windows install cd, and restarted my computer back into osx. Is the newest version of osx, snow leopard, not compatible with microsoft xp? Do I need to purchase vista or windows 7 if I am to run boot camp successfully?
I was just wondering if Final Cut Studio (with Final Cut Pro 5) will be compatible with Snow Leopard. I am just going to into my final year of a media degree and 2 of my modules are largely production based so will need FCP to work

I am trying to use a Canon LBP-3000 printer that is connected to the USB port on my Airport Extreme Base Station from a computer running Windows XP. The AEB is connected to an ethernet port on the same XP computer.
I have installed the latest LBP-3000 printer driver from the Canon .au website.
The TCP/IP port settings have been set up as follows:
Port name: IP_10.0.1.1
IP address: 10.0.1.1
Protocol: Raw
Raw settings port no: 9100
Note that the printer works normally when connected as a local printer via a USB port on the XP host.
I am running Windows XP Home version 2002 SP3 The printer driver is titled "Canon Advanced Printing Technology for Canon LBP3000 R1.12 Ver.3.02.0.005 (Windows 2000/XP/Server 2003/Vista)"
The AEB firmware version is 7.5.1
Note that I am able to print via the AEB/USB to my Epson Stylus printer using the exact same setup as above (except for the printer driver).

Any mac software which allows free international text (otherwise New Zealand,Australia,U.S,Europe,Canada,India,China) which is Snow Leopard compatible as well
I have seen couple of sites which allows free sms/text (up2 150 characters) in the internet, but haven't find any software which uses this technology. Few sites offer this service with the catch tht both sender and receiver needs to be registered with the internet service provider. Even a lot free voip call services are available but no sms services are available ? why cant they use voip technology for sms ?
I just recently bought a Macbook Pro, i7 intel computer. I have a Pixma Pro 9000 Mark II that I have been using just as a printer, however I'm wondering about being able to use the Easy Photo Print Pro software from Canon software so that I would be able download photos to my computer? If so, what supporting program or software do I need to install first from Apple? Can I use this Canon software so that I can use the Pixma as a scanner than upload to my computer so that I can edit my photos? I'm new at Apples and Scanners, so I'm not sure that this is possible.

I have had a Canon MX700 for a few years now, and have generally been very happy with it - when it works.Â
One bugbear of mine is that the "Scan to" button on the scanner stops working from time to time. It will work magically for AGES, then.. Pressing the button shows "Set the PC to start scanning" on the printer.Â
This usually results in me spending hours removing, and re-installing Canon drivers/software, restarting my Mac(s), the Printer, my Wireless, etc, until I eventually get this going again. (Pressing the "Scan to" button results in a list of my Macs to scan to).Â
When the printer is doing this, scanning from the Mac(s) works no problems - using Canon's Scan software, or Image Capture. Printing works fine also. So, the Printer can clearly communicate to the Mac(s). It just doesn't allow you to initiate the scan from the Printer.Â

I am very new to Mac (two weeks now) and I was having the smoothest of installations of my new Canon MP990 AIO printer. I carefully followed the instructions, went to Canon's website to get the proper drivers for this printer (because the disc does not have software for 10.6). My wireless network found the printer no problem. Heck even the MacBook found it and installed it no problem...or so I thought. Every time I try and print I see "No Printer Selected" and then when I try and repeat the step of selecting my new Canon it says you already have this printer set up and is asking would I like to set it up again. I can't seem to find where the printer software is even installed on the MacBook. Afterwards I tried installing the CD on my PC laptop. Just as with the MacBook, smooth and easy install...easier because I didn't have to download. Anyhow the PC is printing really easy. I am disappointed because all the reviews I read about this printer made it sound like a monkey could get it going. I've spent over two hours and not feeling very good about being dumber than a monkey.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've got several Apple computers in a network. I'm using a Canon multifunctional PM600R for printing. It's connected on a iMac DV with a USB-cable. I'm using a Vigor wireless router. It was alle working perfectly. With my Powerbook I could use the printer wireless. Recently I bought a MacBook with Leopard. Up until today I can't print wireless. When I connect the Canon printer directly (USB), it will print. But that's it. I've downloaded the most recent software from the Canon website. Unfortunately, it won't work. In printer configuration I just can't select the printer because it doesn't show up in the window of the Canon IJ network tool.
