I seem to be unable to add PDF to my list of printers, as I have been able to do in the past. Is it no longer necessary to add a .PPD file to print directly to PDF from, say, Illustrator or InDesign?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have a printer (Canon MX310) that is connected to my iMac, which is running Leopard. I've shared it via Sy Preferences > Sharing. I want to be able to print to it using my XP laptop. When I connect to my home wireless network, I can see the printer just fine in the list of printers on my laptop. But if I try and open it or send a print job to it, I get the following error: Access Denied, Unable to Connect. This is probably a very basic problem/question.

View 2 Replies View RelatedAll of a sudden we can't print anything. Have a couple of Macbook Pros, an iMac and two printers hooked up to Expresses through our Airport Extreme network. Printing usually works fine, now, nothing! When we go to print, the macs act as though everything's okay, but the printers don't respond. I tried hooking my macbook pro directly to one of the printers, and still nothing. Mysterious and I can't figure out how to even see what the problem is.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've spent the morning trying to get printer sharing to work for the following situation, additionally illustrated by the attached image: I have a network centered around a Belkin router. An iMac is connected to it with an Ethernet cable, a HP PSC 2110 printer is in turn connected to the iMac with a USB cable.
Wirelessly, a number of laptops connect to the network. There is a MacBook Pro, that doesn't have a single issue whatsoever. Also, there is a DELL Inspiron 9400 running XP with Service Pack 3, protected by a McAfee security suite. What I'm desperately trying to do, is to enable the DELL to wirelessly print from the HP printer connected to the iMac. Obviously the iMac itself is able to print, and the MacBook Pro plays nice as well.
Now, there are about a million threads on this topic, with situations quite similar, but none of the solutions proposed anywhere seem to get the whole thing running. For this reason, I decided to have people shine their light on exactly my own situation, in case I am missing something.
The Bonjour software on the DELL is up-to-date, but giving the "No Bonjour printers are available" message (I'm not sure about the exact wording, since in my situation it is in Dutch.) The McAfee firewall is set to allow Bonjour full network access, and additionally UDP port 5353 is opened up. Obviously Printer Sharing is turned on on the iMac.I'm at a complete loss, so I came here to look for an answer. Or someone to tell me to forget it, it's not going to happen. I'd take anything right now.
Having printer issues after upgrading? Both my printers HP deskjet 6840 and HP officejet g85 will not print properly and I have been unable to find drivers for Mac OS 10.6.8 online.

Printing is a hassle from Autocad with my MAC OS. In WinXP, (prior to switching to MAC) I could assign a paper size to each printer in printer set up. Then when printing from AutoCAD I would just select the print I wanted for the paper size and done..... perfect!
However, in Mac with Parrallels AutoCAD does not really talk correctly through to the printers on the Mac side. So I have to go into Lion printer settings and change the paper size all the time between tabloid and US letter. I always forget and waste a lot of paper.
Looking for a way to set a Lion OS printer to a specific paper size and have it maintain that paper size while a different printer has a differenet paper size, but this doesn't seem possible.
Every time I change the paper size in the Lion OS for one printer it changes it for all printers.

I'm running Lion OS X server and I have set up a printer on my server (the printer is not AirPrint friendly). What I want to do is set it up the printer so that I can get iPads and iPhones to be able to see that printer and print to it. I tried a program called Printopia 2 but it did not work, now I am not sure if it is becasue I have to set up something in system preferences or something similar. I have enbaled the printer to be shared.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have 3 Macs (iMac 24", iMac 27" and MacBook Pro 15") each are connected to their own USB Samsung printer (ML-2510 and ML 2010). Since the OSX 10.7.3 upgrade from February 3rd 2012, they all have the same problem. The printer is responding, when we send something to print, the printer starts running and then stops before printing anything. The strange thing is that the next time I try to print, it can be OK. I am able to print sometime but not always. This problem is the same on all 3 computers. I have tryed to reinstall the driver from the Samsung web site and it did not resolved the problems.

I have three printers and all loaded with different sized paper, A4, A3 and A5. How can i set the default paper size on each one so that i only have to select that particular printer and the OS would know what size paper it should be printing on?
I have a HP 7000 loaded with A3, 6500 loaded with A4 and and B110 loaded with A5. In print and fax, the default paper size is global across all three printers and I have to change it every time. I want to be able to tell the printer or OS what I want to do with each printer and tell it what type of paer is loaded and then each time I selct that printer it would know what to do?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI bought an SD version of a movie in iTunes. I own a Blu-Ray of the same movie. I then ripped the Blu-Ray to a 720p version. I used Subler to mark it as HD, and I made all the tags the same as the SD version. But, when I add it to itunes, the two don't combine into one listing in the movies section. Is there something special I need to do to make this happen?

For whatever reason, it won't accept it. When I finish entering the address, the add button is grayed out. If I try other valid addresses, it works fine. For some reason, something about this address won't allow me to add it.
A friend recently downloaded 500 messages from her ISP to Mac Mail (4.4) The inbox says she has 500 messages but she can only see around 150 / 200. How can she see that complete list ? I'm trying to convince her to remove those messages off her ISP's server.

I currently have my second MBP that I got from Macmall and both in a matter of two weeks have had similar issues. The first I managed to get returned and replaced, that is a seperate and complicated story in and of itself. This particular issue started with a boot up sequence that was taking about 5-6 mins. After going through the drill with Applecare thought I could restore using Time Machine. That's when I found out that the FW400 port no longer worked to power my Oyen Digital 250G FW drive. Any thoughts as to what might be the problem? This is my second MBP and Oyen Digital FW drive. I had them both replaced!

Before it was annoying, having to purchase both the regular video and HD video, then delete the unwanted HD download from my queue list, but now it's a problem. I can't empty the unwanted HD downloads, and for me to download them all will tie up my connection for a week or more.
