I want to connect a wireless Epson XP 510 printer. Installed drivers from the Epson website but they do not appear to be compatible according to the drop down list in the apple menu for adding a printer.

Ever since I downloaded iTunes 9.1 my library has been growing out of control. The only problem is, I haven't added any music to it. It says it's 3,091.80 GB now and tends to get bigger every day. This would be a minor nuisance were it not accompanied by other problems (recently added music disappearing, library file error messages, etc.). Has anybody dealt with anything like this?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've got several drives that have died over the last year or so. I've got six or seven drives hooked up to my iMac that I use for storage, backing up etc, and it seems like one just dies every six months or so. Maybe one a year. What happens is it suddenly doesn't show up on the desktop anymore, and it never stops churning. I try connecting any of these dead drives to another one of our macs, macbook pro, etc, but it behaves the same way.
Is there anything to be done about this? I'm thinking of getting a Drobo system, rather than buying new drives so often. Is there any special software for dealing with drives in a state like this? Or a place you can take them to to see if they can be fixed? (I have all the data backed up, so that's not an issue. I've called the manufacturer (lacie) but I think they're all out of warrantee, though they're only a couple of years old.
I haven't backed up my macbook in a couple days since I've been out of town and did not have access to my external hard drive. A little while ago I plugged in the hard drive and told time machine to do a backup. The backup started at around 24GB, which I thought was weird because I didn't change that much. An hour or so later it is still climbing and is at 77.1GB. By the time I finish typing this it will probably be even larger. The weird thing is it says 77.1 of 77.1 but then both numbers just keep simultaneously growing. I'm using a Seagate Desk and bucking up and aluminum unibody macbook running 10.58.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have just installed Windows XP with VMWare Fusion (2.0.6) and every time I shut down VMWare and check the size of the virtual machine back in Finder in OS X (Snow Leopard) it has grown by 2GB or so. Why is it doing this and how can I stop it? (It's now 8GB+ even though there is no software installed on the Windows side). I am running these on a late 2007 iMac.

After some problems with Time Machine backup, I removed a bunch of stuff from my internal hard drive, reformatted my external HD used for backups, and started a new full backup. Time Machine has been running for about 24 hours and gives me a status of Backing up: xx GB of yy GB. Both xx and yy keep growing (apace) so that I don't believe xx will ever equal yy. Â
To cryptic? Here are real numbers. My internal disk being backed up contains 469.39 GB. Backup status now says Backing up: 685.78GB of 754.42 GB. Both numbers just keep growing. I'm happy to let Time Machine overnight (again) but, really, this can't be normal.

I was reviewing audio books on my wish list and the list just became empty. I have stopped and restarted iTunes and I have manually re-logged into my apple account but the list keeps coming up empty. I have tried both the shortcut on the top right and from the drop down on the top left but nothing. Is this a temporary issue with Apple..I'm on a Mac running OS10.9.4 and iTunes 11.3.1Â

View 1 Replies View RelatedIf I have a "group" in Address book, how do I edit "which" email is the address to use for each user in that group? Back in Snow Leopard, there was a discussion article that said iCloud broke the ability to edit a distribution list, but that it would likely be fixed in Lion. how to do this in Lion? No matter what I do, that option is greyed-out in my Edit menu.

I seem to be unable to add PDF to my list of printers, as I have been able to do in the past. Is it no longer necessary to add a .PPD file to print directly to PDF from, say, Illustrator or InDesign?

I take the minutes for a local operatic society. At these meetings there are usually 6 or 7 people present. I have their email addresses stored in my address book, but how do I set up a mailing list which contains all members names and email addresses so I can send just one email which will reach all of them? I am sure this is an easy thing to do, but I just can't seem to fathom out how to do it. Â

I see another unsecured wifi network (D Link) on my list. As I have recently replaced an old modem router (D link) with a new fancy one (wireless gateway), I am wondering if this is somehow still attached to my computer. The D link wifi unsecured network has a different IP address than my newly formed secure wifi network's IP address. Also - if I turn my wifi off (regardless of if I am on the dlink or my new secured wifi) I can still watch netflix etc. on my tv from living room which tells me the the wifi is still on. Why is this so?Does my Mac have two IP addresses or is that D link someone elses?

We have had a software problem with my wife's mac. I set her up as a user on my iMac, then we wiped her machine and reconstructed. Here is the problem. On her laptop now, there are no previous recipients in Mail. As it turns out, she really needs these. They are on the iMac. I need to move that list from the iMac to her laptop.
I have looked in Library/application support, but can find no entry for Mail or Address book. I know that there must be a file somewhere with this data.

If I open an image in Preview, the "File/Open Recent" menu lists the name of the file. If I then close the file, but still leave Preview running, the "Open Recent" menu still lists the file. If I quit Preview, the "Show Recent" menu does not show any files. If I reopen Preview, the "Open Recent" menu does not show any files. I have a feeling this is a permissions problem, but repair permissions has not worked.
In Console, Preview is reporting the following error upon opening:
"29/02/2012 14:45:57.183 com.apple.Preview.TrustedBookmarksService: Failure to de-serialize bookmark data file."
I'm using Preview as an example here, but it holds for every app - whether they are bundled or downloaded - on my system. System Preferences/Appearance/Number of Recent Items is set to 10. I am running Lion 10.7.3 on an iMac 12,1 with a dual SSD and HDD internal drive setup.

when I see the files in one of the folders in the finder, in list view only, they are organized from Z to A and I want to change that to see them from A to Z. I cannot do it. I used to change the list by clicking the ¨name¨, but now that doesn´t work. If I change the view to icons or cover flow, the same files are organized alphabetically. It seems I changed that (I mean from Z to A) once, before I got Lion, and now I cannot reverse the organization of files.
