Recently i udgraded to Lion. It would not take my existing AppleID so i had to create a new one. Now i can't get my old information to go to the new account. I only want and need one. this is becoming worse than windows upgrade

I had an iTunes account before I got my MacBook Pro and they have different IDs. The first account has all my purchased music and I would like to use it with my new computer. When I try to download music of the previous account from the Cloud, I get the message that the iTunes account information differs from the computer. Can the first account be edited, or can the two be merged without losing anything or having to buy again?

I'm on my 14th email to iTunes support and after 14 days of not being able to log into my iTunes account, I'm getting a bit desperate. Every time I log in, I'm redirected to the login screen that asks for my account name and password. I've reset my password 4x and Apple has done it twice. Still no change. I'm not getting any response that my password is wrong and I'm allowed to fill in my credentials as many times as I want. It's just redirecting me to the login screen and asking me again. If I log out and back in, it tells me after login that I need to press "ok" to verify my account information, after which it redirects me to... the login screen.Â

My company E-mail account was closed today and I had anticipated the messages would be stored by Apple mail for offline viewing. It was an IMAP account with the preferences set to so that the mail was never deleted and all messages were to be kept. However, all the mail has disappeared with no action from me. Is there anything I can do to recover this information? I did not "back up" these messages as I thought they would be left in the mail program for viewing and that I could later archive them.

I use apple mail to connect to multiple accounts. One of them went offline on Friday and refuses to come back on. The account is fully functional, because it's still working fine on iPhone, iPad and through Outlook 2011. It's like once apple mail decides an account is offline, that's it.Â

Well it saved me a bazillion dollars in burned cds. The problem is it made a new account on my Macbook representing my old computer with the files on it. I want the files on my main Macbook account. Then I want to delete this second account it made. How do I go about this? hmmm?
I use comcast for my email/internet. I set up three separate accounts each using the same return mail server: mail.comcast.net, but with separate smtp account names, password etc.No matter what smtp setting i use to send mail, i get 3 duplicate emails when anyone replies to my message. If I get a new message from someone the same thing happens. 3 duplicate messages.hat can I do to rectify this situation.Comcast Keeps asking for my passwords, over & over again.

Thus, all of the duplicate e-mails pile up in my Mac account making it difficult to find mail intended for the mac.com account.How is this happening? I've checked the settings in Preferences but nowhere do I see the accounts combined.

I am doing this so whenever they are here and need to use my computer, they can use it without using my account( the admin account) or guest account( where the have to log into guest account and work on whatever it is they needed to do, then unfortuanatly have to erase all files from that day so they can log out ) Â Â Â Â
I still want it to be an account for that person to have when they are here, but NOT guest account. Just an additional account.Â

I had an Exchange account that I had been using for years. Recently, I switched jobs, and therefore the Exchange account was discontinued (i.e. my user was deleted from the server, emails bounce). BUT I cannot remove this obsolete account from my System Preferences > Internet Accounts. It drives me crazy. Whenever I hit the "-" minus button, the account disappears, but whenever I open Internet Accounts again, it's right back in its place. Apple Mail keeps complaining that it "cannot connect to the server", but won't let me delete the account.Â

I fill out all of the billing address, and don't have an iTunes gift card, so I leave that out. What is left? A Credit Card field! I am only 14 years old! I don't have a Credit Card! Is there any way to get past this? I have noticed that the same thing happens in the Mac App Store. All I want to do is get the Album Artwork and get a few free apps for my iPod Touch as well as my MacBook.

View 3 Replies View RelatedStarted with issues of my accounts wanting a password every time it checked my hotmail accounts.I could fix them a few weeks ago by deleting the account and adding a new one (same one really).thought I would do that yesterday. deleted my hotmail account.clicked the + button/tab to add a new account- NOTHING happens. zero/nada etc.so I went to file and highlighted add a accountsame thing nothing happens.so dumb me, I went into my preferences and deleted the (should not have emptied the trash) mail preferences thinking it would help.
same thing can't add accounts only delete. only now I have no accounts.rebuilt preferences, deleted caches, rebuilt again, restarted etc.any ideas or help here.don't want to go back to entourage (quit that many years ago).

Every few months Apple sends out an update of their "Mail" program. Every time this happens all of my email accounts disappear and I have to create them all over again from scratch along with my preferences settings. Why does this happen and is there a fix/work around for this? Why don't your "accounts" just port over to the new, upgraded version of mail? I don't get it.

when I try to update my billing information the software adds additional digits to my zip code. This is all fine and dandy, it matches to where I live. But my bank only uses the standard five digits and when it adds the additional digits they will not match up correctly despite the first five being matched. This causes an endless and stupidly frustrating cycle that I cannot solve. I tried to find a phone number to call and sort this out but of course that doesn't exist.

Recently when trying managing my AppleID account, I was asked to make my appleID the same as my email. When I tried to do this, I was then told that an appleID by that name already existed. So I then attempted to login using my email address as my appleID. It was then that I realized that I have two separate appleIDs. One I have had for years, and has tons of music associated with it, the other I must have created in the last year when updating my iPhone software version. I have no idea how much of what is associated with the new one, but I think the only way I could find out would be to format my phone and start again.
