OS X V10.7 Lion :: Apple ID Can Be Used To Reset User Account Password
Apr 11, 2012
How can I change my account password without using my apple id credentials to do so because that doesn't work. It doesn't prompt me to change my account password after entering my apple id credentials. It will not recognize my credentials.
I have created user accounts on my iMac for each of my kids. Whenever we try to login to my daughter's account, we see the standard 'galaxy' background, then a flash of gray, then the background again and then that process repeats over and over. The DVD Player app is running, but I cannot figure out a way to kill it or get out of the endless loop. Everytime she logs in, I end up having to hold the button on the back of the computer to shut it off, then restart everything.
Is there a way to sign in to her account without having all the applications launched that were running when she signed out? I think that might be the first step to fixing everything, but I can't figure out how to do that. Is there a preferences file I can kill? Or are there aliases in a folder somewhere that contain the items to be relaunched at startup? Her account is managed under parental controls.
i need to reset the passwords to log on to osx lion. how can i manage that? i don´t have any cd´s or dvd´s. only older versions. but it looks like that they don´t work on that imac. i have two partitions, one is the normal MAC hd and the other is the Recovery HD. do i have to restore the instalation ?
suddenly and i think this is the first time it has happened on this account My Freeserve pop mail account needs the password entered.BUT I entered it and I know it is correct. So why am I being asked for it again and again.I think I need to do something in the keychain but as I can;t remember exactly what I don;t want to mess it up.I need my mail as awaiting an important message.

I'm working on a Mac-mini running OS X Tiger. I've got one admin account setup and 5 or so standard accounts. I'm configuring a connection to a shared folder on a network server on the standard accounts and I wanted to connect to that share using an account id that is DIFFERENT than the standard account id. I enter that id and the correct password and I check "save password in keychain" (or whatever that check box says) and I get prompted to enter the "keychain password" to unlock the keychain. The problem is, I never setup a keychain password for the standard user account. I'v tried the password for the administrator account (even though I can't specify the admin id anywhere) and I've tried the password for the standard user account, neither of which work.
However, I can still get successfully connected to the shared folder. I just don't want the user to have to enter the password each time they login.
Additionally, after going through this, Safari is now asking for a keychain password for the "login" keychain when it first starts up and loads the default Apple.com home page.
Mounted to drive, booted into single user mode, yet trying to reset the admin password with "passwd" gives me a "cannot create session" error. Has anybody seen this before?
I've had this computer a little over 2 months and this is the second time that my password won't work. At first I thought little of it since it worked after the 4 or 5 time, but now it's not working and I can't install system updates. How can I reset the password or will that require wiping the system?
I cannot update apps because i purchased under corrupt username [URL]. So app store ask for password for this corrupted email address which i dont know. If I try to reset pw the app store sends retrival email to this corrupted address that i cannot aceess. Also i cannot reset pw through security question because will not accept my date of birth date.
How can i change theApp store username "warren.crt@gmail.comt" to the correct username "warren.crt@gmail.com"?
Every 10 minutes I get a pop up window that reads, "To synchronize your keychain on this computer, enter the password for your user account on..." then it says the name of my macbook pro. My problem is that I type in the password but another window comes up rejecting it, claiming my password is incorrect....which isn't true.
Technically this isn't my problem but my cousin's problem. He has a Macbook Pro and recently had to reinstall Mac OS X, from what I understand he used time machine to restore his files, settings, account, etc. And apparently now on login his password to his account is not accepted. He stated that he did not change the password from what it was before the reinstall of his OS.
My wife used to be able to print to her hearts content before I switched over to Snow Leopard. Now whenever she wants to print it asks for an administrators (me) password. How do I change it back so she doesn't need me around to help her print something? What's the use of having a password to protect your account if the printer asks for it every time someone wants to print?
I can't remember what the password was because I stopped using that laptop for a while. And now I can't update my computer or do anything and it's really slow.
Whenever I go to download a program, it asks for a password but I have forgotten the password due to it being changed several times. How do I recover/reset it so I can allow downloads?
Have done something wrong and changed the password to start the computer. Want to change it with my Apple Id but it wont let me. I can type my Apple ID but it dont let me change it or something else. I cant start the PC anymore. What can i do?
I created a mess by changing my user password. OS X 10.9.3. Forgot the new password. When I went to log on, It said I could use my Apple ID to change it again, but I would lose the passwords on my keychain. Which would have been fine. Except now I can't do anything at all on the laptop, getting pop up after pop up saying "a keychain cannot be found to store...". And other pop ups. I'm completely jammed up.
I bought this new MacBook Pro a month ago. When I try logging into my guest account, it froze. I had no other alternative but to get out of it by pressing the power button. Then I tried open a new user account to see if it also has the same problem. Unfortunately it did have the same problem - froze after I logged in. I had done a harddisk check, there seemed to be no problem.

When I try to use .mac mail, it asks for a mail.mac.com password but I don't remember the mac Mail password I gave when I set up my MacBook. How can I find it or reset it so I can use my mail (I've been using mail through my provider all this time).
I have created a number of Apple i/d's that now seem make my records confused. I'm often forced to reset passwords; like today: I tried to log in to use my icloud email address and had to reset the password - again even though I had used for my apple ID minutes before!!. This repeating problem has become a real headache and I want to kill off the old unused apple i/ds and start afresh so i can link my information etc over all my hardware. can this be achieved if I present all my prior information for deletion?
