after having just installed Safari 4 beta, Mail.app is always crashing when downloading an incoming mail.
View 24 Replies View RelatedI recently installed Lion from a download. I was able to open iMovie three times to realize none of my previous movies showed up. Now, a week later, iMove crashes upon starting it. I do not have a disk to reload from, and the update manager tells me I am up to date on all my software.

I have a macbook pro and I have the OS X lion installed with all the latest updates to Safari etc. Lately my browsers have been acting up. Â
While I can access a lot of websites on my Safari there are other sites which do not load and I get the spinning beach ball before Safari crashes. My Safari also seems to take longer to load. Â
I have the latest Firefox 12 installed. When that starts up on the home page it crashes straight away after the obligatory spinning beach ball. I tried to trouble shoot Firefox but it wouldn't even open in safe mode before it crashed. Â
I also have Opera which doesn't even start up. So I uninstalled and upgraded to Opera Next. It doesn't even start up! Â
I have checked for plug in issues. I have up to date adobe flash player and java - unless there is some issue there. I also checked my DNS and it seemed clean of trojans. But I could or may have overlooked something. Â
I did use 'onyx' to clean my files but the trouble began before I used it. So now I am at a loss to understand why I am having problems with my browsers. Â
I'm not very technical but I have done my best to follow various threads around here to dismiss obvious causes. Â

View 2 Replies View RelatedSince installing Lion on my Macbook pro, my safari is running very slow.
View 1 Replies View RelatedJust downloaded Lion. Safari is sluggish or gets stuck on opening most sites. Many do not open. Never had this problem before installing Lion.
View 8 Replies View RelatedRecently had repeated kernel panics and replaced an SSD with the original SATA HD and did a fresh install. Upgraded to 10.9.4 and machine ran fine for a month. Meanwhile I returned the SSD and a replacement was sent. Carbon Copy cloned a back up of the SYS HD onto the new SSD and replaced the SATA with the new SSD. Twice have had crashes on boot, shuts down, reboots and then successfully loads. I have an ATI Radeon R380 pci card in the extra PCI slot running to an external RAID. Reading the report it appears as if there might be a conflict with the ATI software. I re-installed the software and successfully booted, machine ran fine for a day. Next day on start-up, crash and reboot, successfully loads. This is the report it generates.

I've been experiencing crashes when using iMovie '09, as well as most of the applications I use on a daily basis. My Finder has been crashing a lot as well after I installed iLife. This occurs a couple of times a day, and the error reports give the exception codes "KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE at ... " and other variants of that. What is causing this? How can I fix it?
I feel like some crashes are due to the fact that I need more memory but I don't know about all the others.
Word no longer works, I cannot type or edit or open any document. As soon as I try to work in Word, it simply crashes.

On my Macbook pro, it starts up, "optimizes movies" and then 5 seconds later crashes. It has never done this before which is why it must have something to do with the recent update (installed in the last week)

I'm afraid I'm new to Mac's and I've not had any luck finding what I'm after using the search function. My wife's macbook has recently completed a download and install of the latest Safari (4) and now every time we connect to the net it stays connected for about 10 seconds and then crashes. I receive a message window saying safari quit unexpectedly and offers me options to close, report or reopen safari. I'm useless at diagnosing problems.

just quickly to see if this is a widespread bug in Safari 3.2.1 if you click on the "Info" tab of a friend's profile or even your own and then click back on the "Wall" tab does Safari crash?
ive just sent a crash support and it would be really great if we get heaps of people sending one if its a widespread issue to squash this bug.
Any one else find 321 crashes A LOT?
It seems to hang and the only way to get out if force quit and even then it hangs before it quits.
Its fine on my MacBook but PMG5 is getting annoying. I have always been a Safari fan but I'm thinking about installing Firefox. Which for me is a giant friggin leap.
