OS X V10.7 Lion :: Preview App Wont Print Secured Pdf
May 7, 2012
PDF file i am trying to print is proteced against edits only. Printing is allowed. "Preview" is opening the file, and i can view it on screen, but when trying to print it, i am asked to enter a password.Other programs (Adobe reader, Foxit PDF, etc) are opening and printing it without any password prompts. Is there anything that can be done with it? Or just stick to other software?
for any reason preview does not print to printers!Converting into pdf is not an issue, it works fine. But printing to printers does not work. No matter what type of file. And I do not know since when it is not printing.Â
This button allowed (in Snow Leopard and even in Tiger) to see the final page full size, or even to save as a PDF file. This functionality is sadly missing on my computer since I have upgraded to LION, making me regret the move. Is there some pref somewhere that I should adjust, or just plainly forget about it. ? When I print, the dialog window does NOT show the Preview button anymore.
Has anyone succesfully installed and used rsa secured on their macbook air? I was able to get it working on my iMAC with no issues. However when I try to import the token using my MacBook Air, I get a message saying, Please select a device where the token will be stored. However there are no devices to choose in the menu/screen. If I try to click on the token storage device link, I get the message "no token storage device was detected" and I cannot proceed further. As I said earlier I used the same token on my iMAC without any issues and I do know that the token is 128 bit for sure. Is it something to do with the fact that the MB Air has a SSD and not a regular hard disk drive?
Anyboby can suggest how recover the printer ? Independently from Word or Preview selecting "print" it does not appear anymore the "window" with the option print, etc,,
I am having issues printing documents I am viewing in Preview. When I press (command P) the File button highlights briefly, but then the print screen does not come up.However, on occasion, it has worked.I have all software up to date and have tried restarting the computer and closing all software.Every other program prints just fine, (for instance, in mail, I can press Command P and it will bring up the print screen as usual).
I have updated my system to OS X Maverick and have lost the ability to "print preview" my files before saving. I frequently save files as jpeg files, as well as pdf. I have found that many of our flyers print better when saved as a jpeg but since the print preview option has been eliminated, I cannot save anything as a jpeg.

When I was using Leopard and I hit "Print" I'd click the Preview button on the bottom left and Apple's "Preview.app" would open the document to be printed (with a Cancel & Print button at the bottom of the dialog box). Now in Snow Leopard, when I choose to see the finished product before I print, I click on "Preview" and Adobe Acrobat opens the item I want to print (which does not have a Cancel or Print button available).800 MHz DDR2 SDRAM, Mac OS X (10.6.1)
I've been disappointed that the preview in the Leopard print dialog does not update if you select to have multiple pages per sheet. I often do this to conserve paper when I'm printing lecture notes. With Leopard, I'm often doing this blind and get things out of order. Has anyone got this to work? I seem to think that one of programs--either preview or Acrobat--provided this functionality in Tiger.
i am constantly having a problem when i try and print a smallish image with Preview /automatically/ checking the Scale to Fit Paper Size and when i /uncheck/ this by clicking in the "Scale" radio button it /automatically/ enters the percent scale factor that would be required if I wanted to scale to fit to paper (e.g. 184%). Since I /don't/ want this scale (I already unchecked this option) I MANUALLY enter "100" in this box and - well - it prints out scale to fit to paper size /anyway/. i am using the Print Selected Image but the Print option behaves in the same way. Also, Auto Rotate (which defaults to AutoRotate with no option - "bad Preview, bad") has no effect on this. i have taken to pulling down to four or nine images to a page in order to get my images printed smaller, even though they never print out at 100%.Â
Is it possible to set a preview (PDF) document to print only a certain number of copies after which it would then become locked (password protected)? Â

Running 10.10 and I'm getting all blank pages when I print through the system or say Preview. Brother MFC-4710, upgraded firmware and downloaded new drivers. What is weird though is if I open a PDF from Chrome and printer directly from Chrome, it prints fine.Â
I've tried it on two laptops and both have the problem.
Below is the error message I have been getting when trying to print a pdf from preview. This happens every time. I never had this issue before upgrading to 10.9.3.Â
I didn't delete permanently but they are in my trash bin and this has not worked. It definitely seems like there is some compatability issue from my old operating system occurring here but im not sure how to fix this.Â

As the title says, I just can't get Preview.app to print a 33 page PDF using 2 pages per sheet in the correct order. It will print two pages per sheet of paper, but page 1 will come on the right, 2 on the left, 3 on the right, etc. I tried every possible combination in the "Layout" menu to no avail.
When I try to print something from the internet, the entire print window doesn't show up. For instance, I can see the print button, cancel button, and how many pages it is. I can only see about an inch of the preview.
I've been trying to use my secured WiFi network on an ibook g3 ever since it was running 9.2.2 now i have upgraded to 10.3.9 and i still cannot get on the WiFi.
I have recently upgraded from Snow Leopard to Mavericks and am now having problem with my hp 4500 office jet printer. The print icon tends to stay on the dock after the print job is done and then mess up the print queue. Even worse if I forget to cancel it manually then when I put the computer on 'sleep' the printer starts up again and the whole job is rerun unless I get to cancel it quickly on the printer! Â
It does not always do this (the print icon disappearing as it should do), but for 90% of the time it does.Â
After trying again and again and failing to connect to my home wireless network which has a password, I tried again after disabling the password, and it worked fine, I'm playing music via iTunes through it right now.
Problem is, I'd obviously prefer a secured network, why can't I connect to a secured network? I'm using a Linkseys WRT160N Router as a base.
Trying to get Mac to connect to the internet video D-Link router. When I click on my wireless the box that comes up shows a place to enter a password and I do so but the connect button is not active only the cancel button is active? Did find another box that gives about 6 choices of connection types this is geek to me. In the list of wireless connections there is one unsecured and it does connect to it.
After creating a guest account I noticed that anyone uses that account can use my(remembered) secured network connection.
Normally, in my network settings, remembering used networks option is checked. When I look into the keychain, I see two entries for my network name. One is in my logins section and the other is in the system section. I suppose, the guest uses the entry which is in the system section. If I delete the entry which is in system section, it is been created again on next connection.
If I do not want any guest to use my network connection, I am having to cancel the remembering used network option and select disconnect on logging out option in airport advanced settings. But; if do this, I am having to select my network and type its password every time I login.
I simply want if a guest uses the Guest Account, he wouldn't able to use my network connection without entering the correct password. Is it possible?
It seems I am able to browse secured websites and pick up my email messages using Mail and I can chat using Messages, but I cannot browse to unsecured sites on this network. I have been given a Web Proxy address, but it doesn't seem to be having any effect.
I'm having trouble getting rid of unauthorized computers off my network. It has been password protected since the day I moved in and I cant figure out how these people are able to crack in.
The keyboard of my macbook pro 2.4GHz intel dual core stopped working I must have turned it off by accident I saw that to make it work again I need to go to system preferences only problem is that my laptop is secured by a password that I cannot type due to the keyboard not working...
In Windows XP/Vista, if you are navigating in a folder containing pictures, and you click any picture, it opens up Windows built in preview program. Much like OSX. However, in Windows, you can click "Next/Previous" within that program to quickly flip through those photos. Why do the up & down arrows in OSX not work? I still prefer my iMac to any PC I have owned, but this one little thing bugs me to no end. Is there a setting I can change somewhere to make that work like in Windows?
