When I try to print something from the internet, the entire print window doesn't show up. For instance, I can see the print button, cancel button, and how many pages it is. I can only see about an inch of the preview.

This button allowed (in Snow Leopard and even in Tiger) to see the final page full size, or even to save as a PDF file. This functionality is sadly missing on my computer since I have upgraded to LION, making me regret the move. Is there some pref somewhere that I should adjust, or just plainly forget about it. ? When I print, the dialog window does NOT show the Preview button anymore.

Running 10.10 and I'm getting all blank pages when I print through the system or say Preview. Brother MFC-4710, upgraded firmware and downloaded new drivers. What is weird though is if I open a PDF from Chrome and printer directly from Chrome, it prints fine.Â
I've tried it on two laptops and both have the problem.
i just bought an mac book pro off ebay and everything was fine with it until the second day i had it.. no signs of life what so ever i have taken it done to a local repair store and they have said to me that the logic board is gone...to make things worse they completely rounded off the screws on the battery pack..i have made a appointment at the genius bar for tomorrow.

Whenever I scan an image (my scanner is an HP Photosmart C4480) and save it as a PNG, it scans and saves fine. However, when I open the file in Preview, it flashes up a low-quality version of the image for a split second, and then just turns black. Sometimes when zooming I can get the low-quality image to appear again, but then it just turns black again.

I am running a show and have a computer in front of me and the second display is appearing on a large screen on stage where I cannot see it. When I click on a folder on the desktop it opens the window on the second screen instead of on the one on my computer. When I Mirror Displays it appears again on the computer, but when I turn it off (it has to be turned off when I run the show) the window opens in the second screen. I have restarted, reset the PRAM, don't know how to get the window to appear on the primary screen..

View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently had to switch out the hard drive on my Early 2011 13" MacBook Pro. When I got the computer back from the Apple Store I began loading my old content onto the machine. When previewing and opening files, they would appear with randomly coloured splotches of pixels on them.   This continues to happen when browsing folders on my machine.Â
The files do not show up with splotches on other computers, and are not in the same places each time I open the file, which leads me to believe they are problems with my machine and not the files themselves.Â
I hypothesise this is the graphics card, but I don't know enough about the hardware.

Popup error comes up on my screen five times at a time and immediately reappears when I click ok. I'm using Yosemite 10.10.1 now and still had the problem before I updated. In the past I saw that this issue was resolved by uninstalling pharos but I don't have pharos installed on my computer.

I am having issues printing documents I am viewing in Preview.When I press (command P) the File button highlights briefly, but then the print screen does not come up.However, on occasion, it has worked.I have all software up to date and have tried restarting the computer and closing all software.Every other program prints just fine, (for instance, in mail, I can press Command P and it will bring up the print screen as usual).

I have updated my system to OS X Maverick and have lost the ability to "print preview" my files before saving. I frequently save files as jpeg files, as well as pdf. I have found that many of our flyers print better when saved as a jpeg but since the print preview option has been eliminated, I cannot save anything as a jpeg.

I often do this to conserve paper when I'm printing lecture notes. With Leopard, I'm often doing this blind and get things out of order. Has anyone got this to work? I seem to think that one of programs--either preview or Acrobat--provided this functionality in Tiger.

"Preview" is opening the file, and i can view it on screen, but when trying to print it, i am asked to enter a password.Other programs (Adobe reader, Foxit PDF, etc) are opening and printing it without any password prompts.Is there anything that can be done with it? When I open preview the window never appears. The Preview menu is present. The four-finger swipe down will show me all the files I have opened previously. But when I select one, nothing happens. Every now and again, I can get a document to open but generally I give up. This has been going on for a while. I've tried menu file>open , option-click - file open with in finder, I've tried pdf documents etc. The other thing that has been bugging me is the inability to close files. When I do actually get a preview window to display, the side bar includes a variety of files I have opened previously. Actually, I think it has kept every last file I have ever opened in preview....disconcerting actually.

View 3 Replies View Relatedi am constantly having a problem when i try and print a smallish image with Preview /automatically/ checking the Scale to Fit Paper Size and when i /uncheck/ this by clicking in the "Scale" radio button it /automatically/ enters the percent scale factor that would be required if I wanted to scale to fit to paper (e.g. 184%). Since I /don't/ want this scale (I already unchecked this option) I MANUALLY enter "100" in this box and - well - it prints out scale to fit to paper size /anyway/. i am using the Print Selected Image but the Print option behaves in the same way. Also, Auto Rotate (which defaults to AutoRotate with no option - "bad Preview, bad") has no effect on this. i have taken to pulling down to four or nine images to a page in order to get my images printed smaller, even though they never print out at 100%.Â

I have a little problem with ichat which i suspect is something relatively simple however i still can't get it sorted out. A friend of mine just purchased a macbook (with OS X 10.5 and I have 10.4.11) and we have been video ichatting without any problems. I picked up a macbook (10.5) for my gf and got ichat set up and running with out any problems, tested the video chat and all was good. Now all of a sudden when i try to video chat with either of them i can only see my preview window and can't see them. They however don't have any problems and can see me and their preview window. They have video chatted with each other with no problems so it only seems to be me. Is there any weird compatibility issues with ichat 3.1.9 and ichat 4? Like I said, initially there was no problems with my friend and I but now that I picked up the macbook for the gf things are all out of sorts.
