OS X V10.7 Lion :: My Mac Book Pro With It Cannot Restart After Updating Software

This morning I attempted to update my software which I later found out was a mistake. When I tried to restart my compter I got an error message. After a little research I found out that not only are several other people experiencing this problem but that it most likely had something to do with the thunderbolt update that became available a few days ago. So I guess my computer is in what I think is called a "kernal panic". Although I don't really know what that means. Anyway, I have read several things which include reinstalling Lion by pressing command R and combo updating your computer with another mac. Honestly though this type of thing has never happened to me and I really don't know if its safe to do on my own.

Frequently when I work and update a lots of addresses in my address book the application hangs and I have to delete everything under /user/user/Library/ApplicationSupport/AddressBook and synchronize it again with ICloud to get it working again.
I am using:
IMac with Lion 10.7.4
Address Book 6.1.2 (1090) with 15.300 contacts synced with icloud
4 GB RAM
500 GB disc with 374 GB free

i am currently using snow leopard, and I am waiting for this summer to update to mountain lion. Right now, I need the a new feature of imovie for my project, so I am thinking about buying Life 11 at this moment. However, I just want to make sure that, will updating my OS X includes updating my imovie, iphoto and everything? If yes, then I probably dont need to buy Life 11 to update my imovie now/

I use iCloud for my iphone 4, ipad 2, and MacBook Pro, all synced wirelessly via iTunes.However I can't get Address Book on the MacBook to update via iCloud. I've tried everything I can think of including deleting all entries and starting again, deleting the icloud account in preferences, ticking and unticking the enable box beside it, ticking and unticking the icloud box for contacts in system preferences (removing all entries at the same time).
I've selected the icloud account as the address book but it's still not seeing the contacts entries that I can see with my own eyes on the icloud website.It's never worked but I've turned a blind eye to it, since having got over the multiple entries and lost diaries fiasco when I first started to use it I've chosen to ignore the next problem.

First, some info on my computer:
- OS X 10.9.3
- Adobe Creative Suite 5.5 version 7.5
- Office 2011 14.4.3
- Suitcase Fusion 5 16.2.0
As a graphic designer, I've accumulated thousands of fonts. In an attempt to clean this up, I recently purchased Suitcase Fusion 5. I transferred the fonts by going into Font Book and selecting "Restore Standard Fonts." I then took the Macintosh HD; Library; "Fonts (Removed)" folder and added those to Suitcase Fusion 5.
Then I went back, and added about five of the removed fonts back into Macintosh HD; Library; Fonts — just because they are fonts I use frequently — as well as the Microsoft folder of fonts.
Now, for some reason, every time I start my computer (I shut down every night before leaving my office) about half of the Microsoft fonts are disabled by font book. The next day I enable them and everything works well and they all show up in both my Adobe and Office programs, but I'd really rather not play that game every morning. Again, almost all of the fonts being disabled are in the Macintosh HD; Library; Fonts; Microsoft folder, but only until the Ms or so, after which point they all show up as enabled and work just fine. And then there are a couple of outliers I've marked with an asterisk, that are just in the typical Macintosh HD; Library; Fonts folder that are also being disabled, the most confusing one being ThirstyRoughTextures.ttf, because the rest of the Thirsty Rough family is working just fine. (This single Thirsty Rough file is the only of the five-or-so fonts that I added back into my library after restoring it to standard fonts that is acting up. The others show up in all programs just fine.)

I have 10.5.8 and I'd like to upgrade to 10.6.8 to play Diablo 3. It seems like I first have to buy and install 10.6 and then need to buy and install 10.7 to upgrade to the latest OS. That seems strange. Do I really need to buy each version? There isn't just one pack I can get?

After Updating to 10.7.4 my mbp 2011 is experiencing many problems with the pre installed applications. Itunes, and App store, safari and even Software update all crash within seconds of been launched. .There is more, but decided not to post it unless its neccesary. Things I have tried already:
- Installed the combo update 10.7.4
- Verified disks: They are all good
- Installed a fresh update of itunes
- Checked for Flashback virus, and even installed java 2012 - 003.

if you have recently reinstalled or updated Lion to 10.7.4, and you have come across the 'iPhoto needs you to update, in order to run' message when trying iPhoto. And, if you have followed the prompts only to be faced with no software to download... The solution is to manually update to iPhoto 9.1 and then to run the updater again. Version 9.3 will be offered and everything should be back to normal thereafter. [URL]

All sounds gone after updating to 10.7.3. Itried to reset NVRAM + PRAM via pressing (cmd)+(alt)+(p)+(r) while starting - this was not working. Found also the thread below, but i have no boot camp available[URL].

When I run software update, it tells me my software is up to date. But I know for a fact it is not. I have Lion 10.7.2, and I know that 10.7.3 was released. Why won't my software update pick this up? Could it be because my internet connection is too slow and it could be timing out? I am overseas, so the wifi connection is pretty slow, just thought that may be it, but not sure.

I updated my iMac to 10.7.4, I am seeing errors in console log .I tried restarting, resetting SMC and PRAM and it keeps showing up when I restart.BTW, I updated the OS on my MacBookPro and I don't see these errors.

About one week ago, the Mail software program on my iMac (running Lion 10.7.3) stopped updating my email from my Gmail account. I didn't knowingly change any settings, either on Gmail or on Mail. The Gmail updates as expected on both my iPhone and my iPad.
