OS X V10.7 Lion :: Kernel Errors After Updating To 10.7.4?
May 9, 2012
I updated my iMac to 10.7.4, I am seeing errors in console log .I tried restarting, resetting SMC and PRAM and it keeps showing up when I restart.BTW, I updated the OS on my MacBookPro and I don't see these errors.
I have a 15" PB Aluminum 1.5ghz with 1GB of ram. Just bought off a friend and when I did a fresh erase and install of OS X 10.4, repaired permissions and rebooted I get the kernel error telling me to hold down the power button and restart. So I did this and when it restarts I get the grey apple background with a load of writing all over it. How do I try and figure out what is causing the problem. I also ran tech tool pro from the DVD and that says everything has passed such as processor, memory etc
i am currently using snow leopard, and I am waiting for this summer to update to mountain lion. Right now, I need the a new feature of imovie for my project, so I am thinking about buying Life 11 at this moment. However, I just want to make sure that, will updating my OS X includes updating my imovie, iphoto and everything? If yes, then I probably dont need to buy Life 11 to update my imovie now/

Im just getting all these errors when I play a game, or when I open Firefox is there any way I can fix them? The game ends up crashing and firefox just slows down alot.I can list the errors as well, they keep spamming my console. [code] And it just covers my console window.
Recently a bunch of users in our office have been getting constant Home Sync errors, most commonly with Google Chrome files. File Sync opens and lists a number of errors syncing files including:
Favicons History History Index 2012-02 History index 2012-03 Network Action Predictor Shortcuts Web Data among others.
Are the files locked by Chrome or something so Home Sync generates errors? Did something change in Lion or Chrome in the last few weeks because this never happened previously?
Occasionally however, I have video graphics glitches on my MacBook Pro. Sometimes it happens when using an external monitor, sometimes it also happens on the notebook display. I often get a distorted task switcher:Also, Safari sometimes renders the content in a weird way, with yellow and red blocks:And finally, the translucent part of the taskbar sometimes looks funny, with stray pixels running through: I wanted to mention that it's not a big concern, but when typing the previous version of this message, I detached the external monitor and then all I got was a black screen when opening the lid. I had to power down the MacBook.

Since updating to 10.7.4 yesterday, I've noticed that YouTube and other online Flash videos stutter, stop and continue playing, or pause frequently. Has anyone else noticed this bug? I'm using the newest version of Chrome but tried Safari as well and noticed the same kind of bug.
In fact I'm getting a grey screen when I just try to restart. Have run Disk Utility (which always finds Permissions errors - even though it appears to make repairs. Also, after erasing my hard disk and recovering my user data from Time Capsule). When I restart I don't get beyond a grey screen (with moving cursor). I can't install the update as obviously I need to restart in order to start the install process.
I have 10.5.8 and I'd like to upgrade to 10.6.8 to play Diablo 3. It seems like I first have to buy and install 10.6 and then need to buy and install 10.7 to upgrade to the latest OS. That seems strange. Do I really need to buy each version? There isn't just one pack I can get?
I updated my apps a couple of days back. Now I'm not even able to use my microsoft word simple documents. I can't open my lesson plans, my homework, my kids pictures....nothing. What am I missing?
After Updating to 10.7.4 my mbp 2011 is experiencing many problems with the pre installed applications. Itunes, and App store, safari and even Software update all crash within seconds of been launched. .There is more, but decided not to post it unless its neccesary. Things I have tried already:
- Installed the combo update 10.7.4
- Verified disks: They are all good
- Installed a fresh update of itunes
- Checked for Flashback virus, and even installed java 2012 - 003.
I get this crash message:
Process: App Store [894] Path: /Applications/App Store.app/Contents/MacOS/App Store Identifier: com.apple.appstore Version: 1.1.2 (92.8)
if you have recently reinstalled or updated Lion to 10.7.4, and you have come across the 'iPhoto needs you to update, in order to run' message when trying iPhoto. And, if you have followed the prompts only to be faced with no software to download... The solution is to manually update to iPhoto 9.1 and then to run the updater again. Version 9.3 will be offered and everything should be back to normal thereafter. [URL]

All sounds gone after updating to 10.7.3. Itried to reset NVRAM + PRAM via pressing (cmd)+(alt)+(p)+(r) while starting - this was not working. Found also the thread below, but i have no boot camp available[URL].

When I run software update, it tells me my software is up to date. But I know for a fact it is not. I have Lion 10.7.2, and I know that 10.7.3 was released. Why won't my software update pick this up? Could it be because my internet connection is too slow and it could be timing out? I am overseas, so the wifi connection is pretty slow, just thought that may be it, but not sure.
I just updated my MacBook Pro to Lion. After install restart the computer is stuck on the white screen with the apple logo and spinning wheel. I manually restarted it after 1 hour but that didn't solve the issue. What do I do?

I updated the other day and now I can't do anything. It will open some programs but will not really run anything. It is completely frozen. I can't even restart it. I have hard restarted it a few times and that didn't help.
The system extension “/System/Library/Extensions/SymDC.kext” was installed improperly and cannot be used.try reinstalling it, or contact the product’s vendor for an update.
About one week ago, the Mail software program on my iMac (running Lion 10.7.3) stopped updating my email from my Gmail account. I didn't knowingly change any settings, either on Gmail or on Mail. The Gmail updates as expected on both my iPhone and my iPad.
