Mar 31, 2012
The system extension “/System/Library/Extensions/SymDC.kext” was installed improperly and cannot be used.try reinstalling it, or contact the product’s vendor for an update.
I just made an upgrade forr my MS Office 2011 for Mac; everything went well until I started The Outlook part. I got a message that read something like: there's an old version of Microsoft Database Daemon running; delete the daemon from the start elements and restart the computer. Now my question: how do I delete this daemon?
Info: MacBook Pro (13-inch Early 2011), Mac OS X (10.7.3)
I have been using the 'Reading List' as a default Bookmark list as I find it more accessible than the old Bookmark system in Safari. After recently updating Safari my reading list has developed a bug. Firstly my entire list had disappeared (most annoying and inconvenient as I began rely on the list for my continuing study of important references in relation to my business) but I strangely I do get a multiple entry of my last used item. In fact the last time I opened up the list I had about ten duplications of the same bookmark. A recent example is below. My other references (which incidentally, courtesy of iCloud appear on my iPhone bookmarks) have disappeared.
Just transferred my iTunes data from Snow Leopard to Lion ( Both same version of iTunes} and I am getting a message saying the iTunes will no longer sync Photos to my iPhone. Has something been changed as far as photo syncing?
Info: MacPro 2.66, Mac OS X (10.6.7), GB ram.. iLife 08 /Aperture / CS 5
i am currently using snow leopard, and I am waiting for this summer to update to mountain lion. Right now, I need the a new feature of imovie for my project, so I am thinking about buying Life 11 at this moment. However, I just want to make sure that, will updating my OS X includes updating my imovie, iphoto and everything? If yes, then I probably dont need to buy Life 11 to update my imovie now/
I am using the Mail (5.2) app in OS 10.7. I have my Inbox sorted by decending date, i.e. newest mail at the top. When I delete a message, Mail currently selects the message above, i.e. the one that had arrived after the deleted one chronologically. Since I work through my emails from newest to latest (usually), I will already have seen the newer mesage. What I want to see is the next message on the list, i.e. the next one, which arrive before the deleted one. My question there is: How can I advance to the previous message rather than the next one (chronologically) after deleting a message?
I am having issues with an "inactive plug-in" message in Safari when I want to do something using a Java plug-in. I searched the communities and sure enough, when I opened Java preferences the box next to "enable applet plug-in and Web Start applications" the box was unchecked so I checked it. Unfortunately, when I go back into preferences, the box is once again unchecked. I did find out that I had a Trojan in the user.jar file associated with java but despite taking care of that issue (which for all I know is not related), this issue persists. All of my software is up to date and from what I gather uninstalling and reinstalling Java is not an option and should not need to be fone.
I'm running Safari 1.3.2 (v312.6) on a G4 with OS 10.3.9. Safari used to be great but seems to be slowly dying (e.g. can't move to next page on eBay, can't pay on eBay). I am having to use Firefox but don't like it. Is there anything I can do to resurrect my old mate (apart from lashing out on new hardware)?
After updating the last safari my "sent" sound won't work. Also my printer stopped working and my bank doesn't support that last update. I've been having all kinds of issues since I went to lion.
The mac version I am using is os x 10.5.5 and currently using the safari 3.1.2. I wanted to update because my safari can't play YouTube videos. (I can only watch in Fire Fox.). This is the link I found but my mac is 10.5.5 so it's below the requirement. [URL]. Is it because of my mac isn't update enough? Cos I always ignore updates. Can I ignore software updates? Every time, when I switch on my mac, a window (see attachment) appears on the desktop.
I was not having any problems until I updated my Safari to the latest version, 5.1.4. Now I can't get into any of my MS Office applications or my HP Director. I get a message saying "____ quit unexpectedly. Click Reopen to open the application again. This report will be sent to Apple automatically". But when I select 'Reopen' it keeps on returnng to that page which is filled with details that don't mean anything to me - lots of numbers and the repeated use of the word 'crash'. All I can do is select 'OK' which closes that box but doesn't open the apps.
I like the Top Sites feature. However, I don't like that Safari checks if the site has changed since my last visit. It destroys the feature of many forums to just show me the posts which were added since my last visit
Since updating to iTunes 10.6, I have never been able to use it, it 10.6 "quits unexpectedly" (crashes) every time I open and try to sync I had no problems previously.
Ever since I updated itunes to the newest version its telling me my computer is not authorized to play my songs...I go to authorize it and it gives me an error. I've tried some suggestions with no success and now everytime I sync up my ipod touch to itunes it completely erases all the songs off it and I can't get the songs to stay on the touch(I tried manually updating but the songs don't stick)
Everytime I open iTunes I get to the box that says "Updating iTunes library..." and then it freezes. I have loaded Lion and download all the available updates. I am on a MacBook Pro.

After updating my iphone 4, all my music disapered, and when i tryed to download it again on itunes music store, it said that i have to buy it again. Is there a way I can get it back whitout buying it again.?
Macbook Pro, running current iTunes and OS X 10.9.3, iTunes library on an external hard drive.
Whenever I try to update my podcasts, I get the spinning beach ball, iTunes stops responding. All other aspects of iTunes work flawlessly. I've called support numerous times - no solution. Only thing that is strange is the kernel tasks go sky high...and other programs stop running due to running out of memory.
I am trying to figure out how the live updating feature on smart playlists works.
I created a simple smart playlist with one rule "Media Kind is Music". I ticked the box to "limit to 25 items selected by random". I also ticked the box for "live updating". When I clicked OK to save the smart playlist, iTunes selected 25 songs from my music library and put them in the smart playlist. I then synced the smart playlist to my iPhone. The same 25 songs appeared in the smart playlist on my iPhone. So far, so good.
Then I played a number of the songs in the smart playlist on my iPhone. I also played songs from the smart playlist in iTunes on my MacBook Pro. I exited and re-entered iTunes multiple times. I re-synced my iPhone several times as well. And guess what? The smart playlist, both in iTunes and on the iPhone, still contains the same list of 25 songs that were selected when I first created the smart playlist.
I have three Airport Express units around my house, and I regularly stream to them from my mauc using airplay. Last week I updated the firmware for the AE's and now none of them show up as remote speakers in itunes. Even the little airplay icon is gone from iTunes.
I added two CDs to my iTunes library and they are not updating into iCloud (they don't show on my iPhone 4S). I checked the iTunes store and they do have the two CDs available to purchase so it's not that they can't match them.
I've tried deleting them and then re-importing them into iTunes and still nothing. They work fine on my computer but are not available to my iPhone 4S which is the whole point of iTunes Match for me.The only information I was able to find online is to go in iTunes under Store and select "update iTunes Match" which doesn't exist in my latest version of iTunes 10.6.1 (7).

I have 10.5.8 and I'd like to upgrade to 10.6.8 to play Diablo 3. It seems like I first have to buy and install 10.6 and then need to buy and install 10.7 to upgrade to the latest OS. That seems strange. Do I really need to buy each version? There isn't just one pack I can get?
After updating my itunes to the latest version [11.2.1 (1)], i keep getting this pop-up window (the obscured gibberish is my email address):
Not only is it annoying and locks me from using itunes until i hit the 'sync' button, it also prevents me from updating podcasts. it just keeps popping up over and over.
Everything in the "Authorize this Computer..." menu checks out and i've only had my one account on this computer and iphone. everything has been fine until the software update.
