When I get my email from the email icon on the desktop, it is not from the person it says it is from when I click on the name of the sender.And the mail that appears is not listed on the left with the mail received list.If I go to Safari and that to ICloud I can find the mail from the person listed, but the wrong mail that appeared doesn't show up as sent.

When composing Mail and using the Photo Browser to insert a photo, iPhoto no longer has any folders or events listed under it. It is just a listing of every photo in my library. I tried repairing permissions in disk utility, and reinstalled iPhoto and updates, but the folders do not appear.

When I check iCloud.com, there are no unread messages. I have multiple accounts to access and multiple within each account. I was going to look at a header today to see where an email came from and found that my "All" selection only shows the default view.
I did check my fonts and deleted 5 that were problems and 30 that were cautions.

After clicking on 'get mail' the download bar shows activity but no mail is downloaded to the inbox. Checked to see if for some reason mail is being downloaded to another box but not so.I know that mail is being sent because I can receive it on my iphone under same email address.Email was working ok until yesterday when this started happening. On my new macbook (first mac) I set up Mail with my two POP mail accounts.I have Inbox, Junk, and Sent mailboxes but no Trash mailbox.I have checked the preferences for both accounts and have set the settings to "Trash - move deleted messages to a separate folder". Yet, there is no Trash folder. I have created a mailbox entitled "Trash" and tried to go to Mailbox->"Use this mailbox for" but all options including Trash are greyed out.

since updating to Yosemite, in the Mail app, the Inbox of all my accounts doesn't show any mail ... it does right after launching Mail but after fetching new messages it shows empty.
to solve the issue I have to go to each account and read the new messages and then return to the Inbox ... and all messages are visible again.

I continue to see messages in my mail folders that have the header information (From / Subject / Date) from one message in the message listings, and the From / Subject / Date of a DIFFERENT message in the message preview.
This is NOT Google. The IMAP server is from InMotion Hosting. On the server, the messages are accurate: the From / Subject / Date information is attached to the message body it represents. It is only in Mail that the information gets scrambled.
I have used the Rebuild for this mailbox, which usually corrects the problem. On occasion, I have to delete the mail account from Mail and add it back in again to force an accurate rebuild.

When I compose a message in mail and drag an images into the mail it just shows up as an icon. So I can't see the image in the mail. I relized today that when I send the mail and the recipient opens tha mail the image is just displayed really really small.. I've tried to setup a new user on the same machine and when I compose a mail with that user drag and drop works beautifully and the images shows in the mail just as it should.I’ve tried: defaults write com.apple.mail DisableInlineAttachmentViewing 1 (and I tried setting it to 0 as well) but no difference. I’m running 10.10.1 and mail 8.1. Anyway I can solve this or a work-around would be great that doesn't involve migrating to the test account.. Can I either reset the mailsettings, or copy any .plist that hold the mail.app settings from the test account (where it works as it should)?

I have sent a message with Apple Mail 7.3 on Mac with OS X Mavericks 10.9.3, and it shows DUPLICATED in the Sent mailbox of Mail. I mean, two entries with the very same message inside are displayed, yet, as said, I only sent it once! I am using POP.
Selecting "Mailbox - Rebuild", quitting and opening Mail, repairing permissions with Apple Disk Utility, restarting the Mac, and even resetting the PRAM does not fix it. I have seen the following article, but cannot find the "MessageSorting.plist" in Mavericks that it indicates: How to Fix Duplicate Emails Sent From Apple Email..URL....
how to prevent this duplication behavior (beyond deleting one of such messages, which, of course, I can do); I mean, to fixing whatever is corrupted and prevent such behavior happening again in the future? I have a new MacBook with aluminium case with Leopard on it. I use the Mail program coming with the OS. My problem is that when I send a letter to one addressee then in the activity window I can see more processes (2, 3 sometimes 4) as though it was sent to more recepients. After checking the recepient account, there is only one mail from the account I used from Apple.
I got another MacBook, basically with the same config, I use the same smtp server, but I do not have that symptom. Somebody has got a clue what is going on. Wrong config, virus or computer hacked ? I am totally new to OSX and Apple,
Since I upgraded to SL 2 days ago (very smooth), I've had the following 2 issues, I need help with one of them (item number one below);
1. in the Apple mail app, now my inbox shows the Notes (you know the yellow notes that appear on iphone also) also, how do i stop notes from showing ?
2. every-time a launch Zinio reader its gives a message that system wants to download rosetta... I keep on saying no. I though Rosetta was the compatibility between intel and PPC and getting rosetta on SL defeats the purpose of the smaller footprint of the operating system !
My MacBook Pro 13", running on latest update, is showing a completely blue, plain blue, desktop background. It changed all by itself. When I tried to reset it by right clicking on the image I want on my desktop and selecting "Set Desktop Picture" nothing changes. When I go into my settings and try to change it that way, the image I want as my background shows as already being my background, yet my desktop is still blue. Tried rebooting already.

For the last week I find that after sending an email with attachments that it remains in my draft box after sending. I'm running final cut pro X version 10.0 and I would like to update to 10.0.4 but the app store shows "all apps are up to date" Anyone encounter this before? When I run FCPX and go to about it clearly shows I'm runing 10.0. I've checked for software updates and that has not found the update either. This link says I can download it from the app store. I am new to this seeing as my last macbook ran flawlessly for 6 years. Anyways, I just purchased a new macbook pro, and I love it except for the fact that I will get this weird white pixel that shows up on my desktop. The pixel is screenshotable and seems like it is sitting on a layer above my mouse. This pixel goes away when I restart my computer, but I think it comes back when I use microsoft word. This pixel moves off the screen when I use expose, and it is only present in desktop one. If i were to open a new desktop or view an app in full screen mode, the pixel is not there. I have tried reinstalling microsoft office but to no avail.

This suddenly happened, and none of his old, read messages show up either. But he can access them just fine from his iPod, or through his Network Solutions web mail interface. Also, in Mail we can search part of his email address, and all the messages show up, read and unread! He has no rules set up. The connection doctor shows the connection is fine.

I've set up time machine on my new mac, it all seemed to be working well. I have a WD external hard drive 500GB (my estimated backup size is about 50GB). I have all my media on another WD hard drive, this is not in scope for back up. I run time machine and it all goes well. Just after a few weeks I noticed that some of my TV shows were missing from iTunes, when I actually check the files on the external hard drive they are missing, they are also not in the trash. I wasn't sure what was causing this but this happened a few times. Eventually I turned off time machine and now I don't have the issue anymore.

I have an HP Photosmart C4280 printer that works fine when I want to print, but when I try to scan with Image Capture here's what happens: I can do an Overview scan, can see the document in the window, but the button to the right of overview does not show "Scan,"but a greyed out "Cancel."When I try to manually scan from the printer, an error message pops up in the printer window that says "USB not connected?" I'm pretty sure that the latest drivers are installed.

I have a very large iTunes library, with content spread over multiple volumes. Recently, I would add, say, a movie to the iTunes library. I don't have iTunes set to copy content into the library, so it stays where it is. Now, the item looks like it got added. If, within iTunes, I'm in the "Movies" library, and I search for the movie I just added, it isn't there. I do a search for it, and it isn't there. However, all the AppleTVs connected to the library show that it is there, and I can play it.
So, clearly the item has made it into the library, otherwise it wouldn't be streamed to the connected AppleTVs, (and iPhones, and iPads). But, it still will not show up in the iTunes library list. No matter what I do. I can quit and relaunch iTunes, I can quit iTunes and open it back up with the "option" key to that I can specifcally choose that library, etc. But, it never shows up in the list. I just upgraded to iTunes 10.6.1, and still, no dice. It will not show up in the iTunes list, but I can still play it from shared iPhones, iPads, and AppleTVs.

I just reinstalled Lion from a fresh harddrive. I did not use the migration asistance to pull files over to the new drive, I selested files and dragged them over, So not to fill the drive with things I dont need....
