View 3 Replies View RelatedOnce I could see which of my emails had an attachment but now I cannot. There once was an icon next to message in the email list to indicate the attachment and its name. The attachments are there. Also at one time I could sort my email by attachment.

The attachment uploader no longer works, either with Mac Mail, or on Google Chrome or Safari. When trying to upload, the grey area with the folder names moves all the way to the right, obscuring the white area with any files I could upload. When I clear the cache completely in Chrome, I can upload a file if it is on the desktop, but if I move to any other folder the same problem happens again, and I again have to clear the browser to have a chance at uploading something. I can still drag and drop files into the attachment window, but it's rather annoying that I can no longer upload things in the normal fashion.

When attaching a simple PDF (size 15.8MB) to a simple OS Lion email, when going out it expands to 21.4 MB. This exceeds my ISPs 20MB maximum file size. Why a simple PDF would expand by almost 5 MB. The same email without the attachment is only 400 KB.

When I want to save a file that somebody has attached to an email, I open the file - but I can only save a version (which I presume saves it back to the email). So I create a duplicate, and choose Save. In Save all I can see of my documents are the most recently used folders - and I can't see any subfolders. Frequently the folder that I want to save in isn't shown - and I can't find any way of revealing it. And if it is shown, I can't see any of the sub folders - so I have to go through the performance of saving it in one place and then opening the folders in Finder and moving it around - a ridiculously long winded task.
View 4 Replies View RelatedUsing Mail 5.2, on OS 10.7.3, and have icloud paid storage ($40 plan; 25 gb total storage). Using icloud mail server, the server times out when I'm sending emails with attachments. Any attachment of 20-something kb gets me an outgoing message action bar with the horizontal blue meter slowly counting out the kb per second until it times about about 60 seconds later and I get a mail message telling me "Cannot send message using the server... icloud. Sending the message content to the server failed."Â
What is going on? I'm making an assumption that icloud server is limiting this. (I should say my internet service provider is verizon, and I know that they limit the kb I can send electronically. When I tried to send a simple 33 kb email w/ attachment I did get a different message saying verizon wouldn't let me send because it was over their data limit of 25kb per email.) My belief was that if I was using the FREE icloud I was limited to some smal kb, but I'm a paying customer. Doesn't this get me something like 250 kb of data sending? Â
I need to be able to send reasonable amounts of data from my computer by email. (Note, I've compressed the files - which only saved 2 kb.)

My Mac Mail was working great until a couple of days ago when Hotmail in it stopped working. I checked all the settings and everything is fine. I had the old pop3.live.com and smtp.live.com but went ahead and changed to pop-mail.outlook.com and smtp-mail.outlook.com and still no luck. I tried using Microsoft's site to troubleshoot but it is worthless. I tried locating a phone or email support but no luck.Â

Normally when I opened an email that had an attachment (like my paystub pdf), there was a down arrow under the header line in the upper right corner that allowed me to download the attachment. Suddenly it is gone - and gone on all my past emails that I have done this with.Â
Where this would suddenly go??

I setup my hotmail in Mail some time ago. And I guess I forgot some setting, because what happend was that ALL my email was transfered from the hotmail server to my local Mail on OSX. How do I transfer them back to the hotmail server, without loosing date stamp?
I am thinking of i.e:
1. Create some pst file (or alike) that can be uploaded to Hotmail.
2. Find some setting that will sync the emails back to hotmail.

I have started using ‘mail’ for the first time, and have successfully imported 4 mailboxes into the program. I have two issues which I would be grateful for help with. I have browsed the forums used the ‘express lane’ through Apple, but to no avail: There is no ‘trash’ can. I have deleted several messages, but I don’t know where they have gone. When I check preferences, the tickbox to send items to the ‘trash’ can is ticked for each mailbox.Â
My work mailbox is successfully incorporated into ‘mail’, inclusive of mailbox subfolders, which are showing in the mailbox pane also. Lovely so far. My problem is that this has not happened for my imported ‘hotmail’ mailbox; my subfolders are not listed for this account.Â
