OS X V10.7 Lion :: Creating New Stationery Templates?
Apr 19, 2012
Running Lion, how do you create new stationery templates for Mail? There are several articles in Google for Snow Leopard, et al, but nothing for Lion. everything regarding stationery seems to be 2-3 years old?Â
Also, where do the JPG's for the current stationery reside??Â
Info:
iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.3), ... and Parallels 6 with XP
I am setting up a default user profile to be used across many macbooks. I have found instructions on how to setup a default profile for 10.6 but are there any differences for 10.7. These machines will also be joined to Active Directory.
Is it possible to create your own Storyboards? It seems this would be a no-brainer for after market sales and to help those of us who use similar technology with Avid/Vegas/etc.
I created a stationery in Mail & saved it as such. The stationery is saved under the custom area and consist of mostly text and then some basic graphics at the end of the message (my fiance e-mail signature w/a picture). When I select a new message and then expand the stationary section, I go to custom and select my saved stationary (in the preview it looks like what I saved) by double clicking but nothing happens - I have also tried clicking and dragging - copy and paste, etc. The text & graphics do not appear in my new e-mail.
I have tried deleting and re-creating the stationary as well as restarting Mail & my computer on multiple occasions but nothing seems to work. All of the other pre-installed stationary seem to work just fine. What I am trying to do is set up premade letters that I e-mail to people all the time, I am tired of typing the same e-mail over and over again. I have a dozen or so that I want to type up and save and then just select the appropriate one for my client, type in their name and other minor changes to make it 'customized' to them and click send.....

I have created a new template document in Pages but am unable to 'Save As Template'; I get an error message saying that I don't have the right permissions. Having looked in the Library/Application Support/iWork folder I find that I have no permissions for the Pages sub-folder. It says there is 'custom access', my account doesn't exist in the list and everything is greyed out. Interestingly however, I do have permissions for the equivalent Numbers sub-folder. I have run Repair Disc Permissions - but this makes no difference.
I am thinking of buying the stationerypack from equinux, but am not sure whether I should spend this money or not. can some body finding feedback of the mail stationery featuere for me?
I have always run under admin, ever since jumping into Mac's. Want to know how I gain access to everything that I have ever used as admin on my new user name?

I have an iMac running Lion hardwired to an internet connection and want to create a wifi network from this connection I have gone to 'create network' and set up - all seems fine. I have then tried to connect to this network with my iPhone. The phone recognises the network and it looks as though it has connected as it is ticked in the networks, but unfortunately it hasn't as my phone won't connect to the internet.Â
Maybe I am doing something wrong here, but each time I want to create a subfolder inside another folder the newly created folder is created at the root of the main banch and then I either to drag and drop it into place or copy and paste it in. Is there a way to create a folder exactly where I want it?
I have a MBP (Mac OS X 10.6.8 Snow Leopard) with 2.6 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 4 GB SDRAM. I am trying to to upgrade to Mac OS X Lion. I have attempted to create a USB installer with a Lexas 16 gb USB memory stick and I have gotten the following error towards the end of the restore: "Restore Failure Could Not Restore- Cannot Allocate Memory".
What does this mean? Is there anything I can do other than attempt burning a disk (which I don't want to do cause of the lengthy process)? When I review the contents all the installer files are present. Upon rebooting, it appears the installer is working but I have not initiated installation out of fear that the installer is incomplete. Should I attempt installation?
My Open Directory users are subjected to several MCXRedirector rules that "deleteAndCreateSymlink" like follow for folders like Caches or the iPhone Simulator Application Support. The symlinks are effectively created, but the folders don't exist in the /tmp/ folder, thus making the users and myself very sad. Here the only strange things that I find in the console : [code]
I have just finished setting up my first Lion Server from scratch on a Mac Mini with dual 500GB Drives which I set up as RAID 1. I have the server exactly as I want it, and before the users start logging on and it gets all screwed up I would like to create a disk image of it so that I could reinstall if necessary w/o having to start from scratch.Â
Is the process of creating a disk image for a RAID 1 any different than that of a disk image from a single drive set up? Will Disk utility just see this as a single volume or will it want to create a disk image of the entire RAID? i.e will the disk image be 1 TB (500 GB x 2)? And when it comes to reimaging my RAID, will I just recreate a RAID 1 and be able to write to it from that disk image?Â
how can i re-create a hidden lion partition after creating a RAID 1 array for Lion Server 10.7.3 My new mac-mini did not come in the array i'd expect it to come with being a server?
I run a business and I've been able to open my invoice templates up until a couple days ago. For some reason when I try to open them now, I get a Converting: Metafile progress bar that pops up and it keeps looping like its converting something, and there is something about the graphic filter too that comes up but the document never actually opens. I can open Excel and start a new document and such but when I try and open this particular template it does this. I need to print out some invoices for my customers.
I just got into using Numbers, it's awesome, the templates are great, but I'd like some alternative ones if possible. Especially comparison tables. I'm ok with using the same template for eternity, it would just look better if I didn't.
I've read some threads but none truly answer my question. I have learnt I need to create a rule in CLOUD as mail is sent to all devices from there and if I create the rule in MAIL on my desktop it does not solve the issue as it will still get sent to other devices, correct?Â
I want to create a rule for junk. Ever changing junk email addresses, content etc. Sometime mail recognies it and sometimes not. How can I set up a rule, filter, etc to delete these permamnently . Its hard when the sender address is ever changing, or the content is never the same. IE one day it is from weatherx@
next time w3ath3rx@, next vveatherx@..it is so annoying. Or the content like I saw this morning every single word had a 20 in front of it...
I tried to create a bootable recovery drive using my usb for OS Lion and was successful with it. Unfortunately the files which I had stored in the usb stick prior to this seem to have disappeared. How can I locate these files? The usb now doesnt mount on the desk top and is only accessible through disk utility.

I'm looking for some free templates for Pages - menu cards in particular. They have to be minimal, professional, stylish and somewhat customisable (with a photo of my
