OS X V10.7 Lion :: Cannot Open Old AppleWorks Drawings - Import Error
Jun 17, 2012
I have upgraded to OSX, now when I try to open my old appleworks drawing program I get "Import error" message from keynote about the document is "not a presentation" what am I to do?
I have an Appleworks database used for customer info. iWorks doesn't have this feature. (Why, oh why?) Is there a way to export the database to address book? I need the sorting power of a database.
There was a thread on this forum about Bento as an alternative, but I couldn't find a definitive answer. If address book cannot import Appleworks database, can Bento?
In a related matter, I have read of a csv file being used as an intermediate in the process of exporting a database. I can't find a reference to it in Mac Help.
I keep getting "Open error 18446744073709551594: “Unknown error: -22”" when trying to repair disk permissions. When I boot in recovery mode and try to repair the disk I get the message that the disk can't be repaired that I should back up my files and reformat. Since I hace been hearing about the Flashback trojan I am not sure if it is because my Mac is infected or simply because I somehow messed up with my HD. Any suggestions on how to proceed? Will it be any good to reinstall Lion? Is there any way of avoiding reformatting?
I have a large number of addresses for my wifes work on a data base file, address list, on Appleworks 6.2.9. Is there a program that would recognize it or I could export it to. I sure dont want to retype all those addresses!
I have done this a million times before, making me wonder if there is a limit to the number of photos that you can have in your library?(Currently, 24,637 photos) System: just upgraded to iLife '09Mac Version 10.5.6 Same camera, same process... But won't import photos as it says there are issues writing to my iPhoto library.
I have several hundreds of documents that were created using ClarisWorks and AppleWorks 5. Lion will not allow Pages to open these documents. Short of opening each one and then saving each one as a Pages doc, what can I do? Is there any batch conversion that will work? DocX Converter will no0t work with ClarisWorks.
There was no warning from Apple that updating to Lion, which is required to maintain my Apple email, would make all my former Appleworks files unreadable.

I recently downloaded the Sims 3 from amazon onto my computer. It finished downloading and when I went to install it it said "Warning: the following disk images couldn't be opened." Then listed the file, thesims3.dmg and the reason as error -4960.

I want a free or "cheep" Program to make drawing for a book project I am working on. I want a program that have templates to help in the making of the drawing...not much of an artist but want to make a cartoon of a couple of characters I need. Do not have the funding to hire an artist. Have not checked out programs in years in this area.

I have an Imac, with CS3. I use Iphoto to import my images straight from my canon 50D camera, which has been very easy for me to do. I've been importing jpegs up until now. Yesterday I attempted to import about 50 RAW images, but an error occurred and would not import them. So i suspect the error is because i am trying to import RAW images.
New to Mac's, when I recieve PDF drawings from clients the drawing is showing up however the text and dimensions are not? Did a little research and it may the be "Century Gothic Font" from a PC.

Do anyone knows why this massage pops when I'm trying to import file to the library? "Attempting to copy to the disk "Data1" Failed. You do not have enough access privileges for this operation."
I know that there are most likely a lot of these threads around, but I feel like I've tried about everything. This all happened this morning when I was about to open my itunes. It wouldn't open, instead an error popped up saying that it quit unexpectedly.
When I drag some MP3s into iTunes it will sometimes at first say "importing" at the top as if it's working, but then show this error. After it happens iTunes won't import anything at all till i restart my computer.
The disc can’t be burned because an unexpected error occurred (error code 0x8002006E). I keeep getting this when I try to burn my daughters wedding pic to a dvd.
