Have just downloaded "The Beatles Yellow Submarine" Free book from iTunes (It has been waiting to download for ages) But, now it is downloaded and showing under Books I find it is impossible to open/view/enjoy the book. Is it not possible to view books on my MacBook Pro? and if the answer is no, then why was it offered to me via iTunes. I do not want to use books on my iPod touch which is 1st generation anyway or even my older iPod video. Surely it must be possible to open the book on my MacBook Pro (mid-2009).

I had no problems with leopard, but since I installed snow leopard (and also afterwards mavericks) I can´t open most files I download from my firefox gmail or hotmail. I want to open a word or pages file with pages and it is the standard program for opening the file but everytime I get the message that I cannot open it.
I have upgraded to OSX, now when I try to open my old appleworks drawing program I get "Import error" message from keynote about the document is "not a presentation" what am I to do?
I want to update my panther 10.3.9 to the latest machine. I believe that the new macs dont have appleworks on them. I have a large document in apple works and want to add to it. I dont want to lose it. I am not very computer savvy and I hope the people who sell me my new mac can transfer most of my stuff to the new computer otherwise I will lose photos etc.
When I select the file to open I get a dotted square outline in by browser and it says "blank". This happens when I try to look at the school lunch menu, and anytime I try to look up statements online. They still open with Safari.

Pdf documents open only with QuickTime. If there are 2 pages or more you can ses only the first. If you want to print, the preview is empty and nothing is printed!
When I try to use Software Update it downloads the file but will not open, and shows me the error message, "Update can't be installed - Software Update could not expand the package correctly". This happened the first time a week ago and I thought was an isolated event, but it is happening again, so obviously there is a problem with Software Update. If I download it from Apple through Safari it works.
I have MAC 10.5.8 and use Firefox 3.5.7. Whenever I download a file and try to open it, I get this warning: xxx is a web application which was downloaded from the internet. Are you sure you want to open it?Whereas "xxx" is the name of the file I downloaded.I want to get rid of this warning message. I could not find a way to do so in Firefox.
On my old eMac I used Appleworks6 to prepare documents, letters etc and these were backed up onto a hard drive. I now have an intel iMac using Pages. When I try to open the old documents from the hard drive, the iMac tries to use Keynote to open them and tells me the document is not a presentation. The old files are .cwk files. How can I open these old files?
Since upgrading to Lion, it seems every time I open an application, the previous file I had been working on in the application opens, in additionto one I've double-clicked on to edit.
Whenever I open a file in 'Preview' (any kind of .PDF, .jpeg, etc.) it opens with 2 or 3 windows; the file that I just opened, and also the last 2 or 3 files that I looked at. Why is it doing this? I've looked through the Preview preferences and I can't find anything that sounds like this. How do I turn this off?

I upgraded to Lion last week and now can open documents that are sent as attachments to e-mails? The file seems to download but when I try and open it I have this error message..... The document “BAAF__PAR_2008_Parts_A_-_C-4.doc” couldn’t be opened.
I downloaded Lion last night only to discover I can't open my word documents anymore. My original office software for Mac is packed away somewhere (haven't had to use those install disks for a few years and probably won't work with Lion anyway?).
