I want a free or "cheep" Program to make drawing for a book project I am working on. I want a program that have templates to help in the making of the drawing...not much of an artist but want to make a cartoon of a couple of characters I need. Do not have the funding to hire an artist. Have not checked out programs in years in this area.

Since about the 3rd day after I got my macbook pro the computer has been making cracking sounds when I open it. When it first started it just simply made one clicking sound when the hinge is halfway open. Now however, When it is open it makes cracking sounds that don't stop ( open 15 cracking sounds per open). Is this a serious issue that I need to address with my local (and very mean) genius or is this issue not going to continue to get progressively worse. If this does continue to get worse will the hinge crack open? what is this worst that could happen?
View 11 Replies View RelatedI have a 15-inch MacBook Pro, the new unibody ones, and I installed Windows XP, using BootCamp.
I made it a 29 or so GB partition, so it used the FAT32 formatting.
The program I tried to install is the eyeQ speed reading program, and the laptop exceeds every single one of the recommended requirements.
The problem comes when I am attempting to install the program, I keep getting an error message in which it says "This program cannot run on a computer with less than 64 megabytes of ram."
Last time I checked my laptop has 4 GB of ram, and it says the same thing when I checked it while running Windows XP.
My only guess, which I made while typing this, was that I should have formatted the Windows partition using NTSF.
I want to capture selections on my screen and add comments. Is there a program out there that will allow me to do that? I don't like the "grab it" program because it saves the captured file in a Tiff format instead of a Jpeg format.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm looking for an app that will allow me to specify which folders I want to copy to my external drive, updating existing files within it and copying new ones.
I don't want to backup settings, my whole harddrive nor make a bootable backup. Just something to backup what I want to backup and where.
Not sure if Time Machine can do that, but it wants me to reformat my external before I can even find out..and considering how much is on there, I really don't want to have to remove that all elsewhere while doing so. [Don't think I could anyway, none of my internal drives have that much space.]
So, does anyone know of a relatively painless backup app that could do simply what I want? Doesn't sound all that complicated in comparison to some of the more convoluted backup apps I keep finding.
I am trying to switch my email program from Thunderbird to the mac email program Mail.Thunderbird has been playing up a lot recently and am tired of the glitches.
I have all the correct server settings etc and succesfully imported my mailboxes. The problem is that when I send an email it isn't from the right email address?? Is this a Mail problem or smth to do with my settings? I'm with Virgin media and have a separate set of email address through my website for my business so my email address are through freeola that I am using through Thunderbird.I'm sorry if this all sounds very stupid but I am pulling my hair out trying to figure out where I have gone wrong!

I cannot drag and drop photos anymore, save files to the desktop or move files to the trash. When I try to move files from the desktop to the trashcan a popup comes up that says "Type your password to allow Finder to make changes." when I put my password in nothing happens. I know I must have changed something in my settings but I cannot figure it out.

My cousin has an iBook g3 running Panther. She is having a little trouble using it and I am here to help her with it.
It would be so much easier to do things remotely with her.
My question is, can my PC (Windows XP Home) remotely connect to her laptop (10.3 Panther)?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm looking for an app that will let me design covers for DVD cases. Nothing super fancy, but one that will generate high-dpi results and let me create reusable templates. Most importantly, something that won't lock me into a "Wizard" mode. I've tried a few of these programs on the Windows side, and find that they're usually so constricting that your covers look generic, or they require you to be an Adobe Illustrator expert just to get anything done. I'd love to find something in between, and made for Mac.

In theory, can I create a disc image w/ the disc utility program, copy that file onto an external hard drive, and then put it on the other computer that way and have the program as workable "disc" (but it will really just be the image of the disc). On a side note, if I got a new disc drive on that computer, would I still be able to burn that file to a DVD disc in the future to create an exact replica?

However I have MAMP installed so my local sites have to exist in the "/Applications/MAMP/htdocs" directory. Is there anyway to make the web sharing directory point to this one instead?

Though I want to know something; how would I make a clean install of SL? I have a bunch of apps I never use, and other junk files that live in my computer. It would take almost a week to get rid of them all manually, so I was wondering if there was a way to make a clean install? I want to clean my HD as if it were completely brand new.

The idea is I have an external monitor for my iMac. I have it connected via miniDisplay Port -> VGA. I also have a video processor (thing) - (it is able to have an Audio/Video input, antenna input, etc). I want to be able to use the single VGA monitor and switch between the two inputs when I want to use it as an extended monitor, or to play videogames/TV/etc on.

I replaced the hard drive, but that didn't help. The sound appears to be coming from the rear of the computer, near the top. (where the power cord plugs in).

Inside the file is the 2.0 audio track separate with instructions on how to merge/change it using a program called Yamb. The only problem is that it's Windows only. Do any of you know a program (preferably free) that can do this for Mac?
