OS X V10.7 Lion :: Block Certain Senders From My Mobile Me / ICloud Email?

View 5 RepliesI've HAD IT with SPAM. My mailbox constantly fills with SPAM—I've had to install filtering software to even be able to see legit messages. My Vonage line receives 20 times the number of robotic SPAM calls than legit calls. And NOW I've started getting SPAM messages on the Messages app.Â
I had thought there was a way to tell Messages not to allow folks who aren't in my address book to send me messages, but I don't find any such option in preferences. Is there such an option? Even brain-deal AOL Messenger and Skype have this option.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've had this problem for a long time. Way before upgrading to 10.7. So much mail from people in my Address Book goes directly to trash. A real pain. That's why I switched to Outlook for Mac.

I've determined that most of the spam I'm currently receiving comes from a block of IP addresses in Australia. (The URLs are spoofed).Â
Is there a way to block email originating from that block of IP addresses? Perhaps a plug-in?Â

I had/have a family pack Mobile me account.we shared itunes music apps etc and of course had separate emails I followed the instructions to transition to the icloud so we could continue to share apps and music but have separate email accounts, calendars etc we have ipad/iphone/desktop.
when the secondary person sent emails my name was appearing on her email with her email address. I went deeper into "settings on the ipad and iphone and changed the name for emails. I think that solved it.Â
when I go under the apple on her desktop to system preferences to: icloud it has the wrong name. I can go into account details and type her name in but the grayed out name under the icloud is still me and when I go back to account details it reverts back to my nameÂ
when I go to mail contacts and calenders her name and account is correct for the mail but again, the icloud is incorrect...has my name. She does not have my calendars or contacts and I don't have hers
I would like to be able to have my email set up on a usb memory stick so that I can carry it around, plug it in to a mac and there's my email or plug it in to a pc and hey presto theres my email again. If that's not enough then I would like to be able to have multiple email accounts on the (living in a dreamworld) email client.Anyone got any ideas? I have tried a version of thunderbird that was sort of cross platform and mobile but it didn't work too well and writing a letter and posting it may well have been quicker at times.

I just upgraded to Lion and moved my MobileMe info to the iCloud. Unfortunately, Apple has created two different iCloud accounts. For the primary account, it wants me to create a new .me email address. I want to use my existing one, but it is listed as a non-primary account, and I can't figure out any way to merge the two.

How long does it take to "access account information" when you are moving from MobileMe to icloud? It has been churning for quite some time. Does it take even longer once you "access account information"?

After updating to System 10.7.4, I can't access my iCloud email account on any of my devices (computer and iPhone 4S). The servers are not recognizing my email password, which is the same as my Apple ID password. I can log in to iCloud using Safari and access all of my other information (contacts, etc.), but not email. I tried going to Keychain Access and found that my old MobileMe password was correct (now my iCloud and Apple ID password), but the "application password" associated with my email account (which is now my iCloud email account) had been switched to a long string of nonsense. I tried changing that string to my actual apple ID password, but the system changed it back to the nonsense string.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a 13" MacBook Air and a 27" iMac that I just did the combo update to 10.7.3. Since I have updated, I am missing the mobile documents folder. If I upload a pages document to icloud.com on my iMac and then go to icloud.com on my MacBook Air, it show's the file, however, it's the default pages icon, and it doesn't give me the opportunity to download it. Â
Because of this, I thought I'd look in the "Mobile Documents" folder and see if I can access it from there. However not that folder is missing. I have tried many different ways to get it to show up but I've been unable to. Â
I'm curious if Apple realized some people were using this folder as a "Dropbox" and disabled or further hid the folder so people can't sync files back and forth. More importantly, why doesn't icloud.com work for me as it used to?Â
Anyone know of any tricks to get the Mobile Documents folder to show up in 10.7.3?
