OS X V10.7 Lion :: Cannot Get Icloud Email On MacBookPro1,1
May 19, 2012
I have an iPad and iPhone and a MacBookPro1,1 now that I have moved to iCloud from Mobileme I cannot get my [URL] mail on my MacBookPro1,1 does anyone know what I need to do?
After updating to System 10.7.4, I can't access my iCloud email account on any of my devices (computer and iPhone 4S). The servers are not recognizing my email password, which is the same as my Apple ID password. I can log in to iCloud using Safari and access all of my other information (contacts, etc.), but not email. I tried going to Keychain Access and found that my old MobileMe password was correct (now my iCloud and Apple ID password), but the "application password" associated with my email account (which is now my iCloud email account) had been switched to a long string of nonsense. I tried changing that string to my actual apple ID password, but the system changed it back to the nonsense string.
When I attempt to send email with attachment I get an error message that says "cannot send message using the server ICloud (Icloud)" sending the message content to the server failed.
I cannot seem to get my iCloud calendar to stop sending email notifications to others for every single event I change. I've tried unchecking the box that says "email me when this calendar has changed", to no avail.
Info: MacBook Pro (17-inch Mid 2009), Mac OS X (10.7.3)
Gmail is my default email client. I'm trying to send an email blast to my groups in address book. When I right click on a group, and click "send to...", none of the email address show up in the TO field, only the name of the Group appears.Previously, I used mac mail and clicking "send to" group would result in all email addresses going right where they're supposed to go.I don't know how I changed the client to Gmail, but if I can't get it to work, I'd like to switch it back.
I am using Mac OS 10.4.11 and I do not plan to upgrade my OS software at this time. I am not using any wireless devices such as iPhone, iPad, or iPod. The only "wireless device" I use is my PowerMac G4 using Airport and whatever wireless signal from a modem is handy for internet connection. I am using Apple's Mail application and wish to continue using it just as it is with my existing email addresses. I currently have a MobileMe account which I'm not worried about losing when it's phased out as long as my Mail application and email continues to function. My question is do, I have to sign up with, or make the move to, iCloud in order for my Mail application and my email to continue working in the near future? I do not mind losing MobileMe and I do not mind not having iCloud if my email will work without it. I do not wish to purchase iCloud service and I hope I do not have to pay to keep my email working. I do have iDisk at the moment but I prefer to let it go rather than to continue to pay for a remote upload/download storage service, although I wouldn't mind keeping it if I don't have to pay for it.Â
I am getting the error: CANNOT GET MAIL.the user name or password for icloud is incorrect on both of my ipads, my iphone and my Macbook air. The username and password are the same that I have been using for years.
I am a former .me user that was migrated to the cloud. Unitl now, no issues with email. I cann actually sign on to mobile me but still cannot get to the email.
Not getting an email conformation for Icloud set up. I have an Icloud which was transfered from MobileMe but would like to change an email to my AppleID emial.
Yesterday I upgraded to Lion and added iCloud. I can see my email fine on my iPhone, but not at all on my MacBook Pro. I've been searching for A-B-C directions on how to use Lion and iCloud, but haven't found them yet.Â
after i upgraded my mac account to iCloud i am not able to get mail on my mac using my mac mail. i was wondering if i need to point IMAP to icloud or if there is somehting manual i need to change in order to get my mail locally on my mac versus using the web mail?
I just updated to the icloud from mobilme. The e-mail icon on my macbook pro will not update e-mail content. I have to log on to the Internet and into icloud.I would prefer the one click functionality to open my emails from the icon at the bottom of the screen.
AT 6:55 Eastern, iCloud email is not working again in the New York, Long Island area. Why has iCloud email been so unreliable? This failure has been happening on a regular basses.

What a disaster this service is. I'm going to drop it. I've wasted countless hours with iCloud problem. And the annoying music you have to listen to when on hold! I guess that's to make you hang up
I've just transferred to iCloud and I'm trying to email 3 people with the same email. I cannot seem to get > 1 address into the "To" field. how to do this, e.g. To: aaaa@yyyy.com bbbb@zzzz.com
