Jul 4, 201210.6 Aluminum iMac w/wireless keyboard and trackpad.Working fine long-term, no recent change to the h/w or system software.All of a sudden pointing started operating as if permanently in mouse-down state. In Finder, this means that the mouse would move around the last-selected object. It is impossible to put the object down and so impossible to operate the Mac. Restart doesn't help.I turned off the wireless devices, replaced the wireless keyboard and trackpad with old, wired keyboard and mouse, and restarted. Normal operation was restored. Tried putting back the the keyboard, but pointing was disabled the instant I re-enabled Bluetooth. Now stuck permanently as if in mouse-up state, so impossible to operate. Fail.Temporarily OK with wired keyboard and mouse. Ihow to return the system to wireless keyboard and trackpad operation?

May 5, 2012Lion makes the sleep process take a while. But after a short time my Mac Pro wakes from sleep and even though I have it set up to go back to sleep after five minutes of inactivity it never goes back to sleep. This wasn't a problem with the first version of Lion.

Aug 23, 2014I have a Mac Book Pro Version OX 10.9.4 with an 2.9 GHz Intel Core 7 and an Intel HD Graphics 4000. I am on warranty still. I was using Autocad 13 perfectly until suddenly it collapsed and I started getting this WHIP error message. I did some research and it says it is because the compatibility of the "Graphical Card". But I havent changed the graphical card so I am not sure why is happening suddently.
I restarted my computer already and uninstalled the program and re installed like it recommends in some websites it but no luck. I am desperate.Â
Another thing happening weirdly lately with my mac is that sometimes the cursor of my mouse gets this lines around it... like horizontal lines that cross the arrow and follow it everywhere.
It may not be the same thing but also searching in the forums seems again a "Graphical Card issue"Â
And on top of that when I move the computer sometimes... i hear a weird click noise from the inside.Â

May 9, 2012since i upgraded to Lion, my computer cannot stay connected to my wifi network, I'm the only user on the network, my iphone and ipad stay connected, when I had snow leopard it stayed connected, but lion boots me off my network every 2 minutes and it takes 10 min to reconnect when coming out of sleep or screen saver.Â
this is the worst OS apple has ever released and if i could go back to snow leopard I would, but i cannot because of icloud. Â

Apr 24, 2012For some reason when I try to activate some menu bar items, they won't stay active long enough for me to write or click a button. For example, when I click on the Fantasical calendar app, I can write and schedule a calendar event, but when I launch say the small window in the menu bar for Day One diary, it won't stay open. When I use the keyboard shortcut to activate Alfred, the app launcher, that window also won't stay open in order for me to write my input. I hope this is coming across clear. If need be I can do a screen capture to illustrate the problem. This is very annoying, and I really need to fix it. I ran disk repair a couple of times, but I don't know what else to do.

OS X V10.7 Lion :: Applications Stay Running After Quit?
May 17, 2012Closing an application used to be simple:
Right click on the dock icon > then > "Quit"
Or menu bar > app name > "Quit ___"Â
But recently I discovered, after checking in the Activity Monitor app, that some apps just will retire its icon from the Dock, but they will still be running in the background actively consuming resourses (real mem, % CPU, CPU Time, etc.)Â
I have noticed that this can happen with other apps. (So far) these others are: iTunes, iPhoto, iCal, AddressBook, QuickTime.Â
It is disturbing to think that every time I have to close an app, I have to do it by using the "Quit Process" in the Activity Monitor utility.Â
Either the app is set to keep the icon in the dock or not, after closing the app, the icon's light indicator turns of or the icon removes itself from the dock acordingly, but the app will remaing running in the background.Â

Jun 16, 2012I use a White MacBook (early 2008) with OS X Lion on it. I checked for updates recently, when I found that OS update 10.7.4 was available.Â
When I started the update, the Software Update utility asked me to update by restarting. After I did this, the update got downloaded and the machine restarted. Now, it is getting stuck on the boot screen with the Apple logo replaced by a 'circle with a line in it' (like a typical "not allowed") logo.Â

Mar 20, 2012I have two printers connected to my iMac (10.7.3) and I am trying to enable printer sharing for my MacBook Air to utilize the iMac's printers. On the iMac, I go to System Prefrences > Sharing and check Printer Sharing and I ensure that both printers are being shared. Everything is checked, but the second I close the System Prefrences window, the printer sharing stops working. I go back into System Prefrences and the Printer Sharing box is unchecked.

When I enter it, Installer goes back to the screen before it asked me for the password. When I click next, it asks me for my password, and the cycle repeats. I tried removing my password to no avail. I can install .pkg files from the sudo installer -pkg command. I dont know how to do this for installers that are in app form.

Mar 4, 2008I have a bluetooth mouse and keyboard that I want to share between a PC and MBP via a DVI/USB KVM switch. I think I can do this by plugging a USB Bluetooth dongle into the KVM's USB input.
If I use the MBP's built-in bluetooth then when I switch from one computer to the other via the KVM, the keyboard and mouse will stay paired with the MBP; but if I disable the built-in hardware then the dongle can provide the bluetooth capability and be switched between the computers.

Feb 2, 2012Immediately after the update to 10.7.3 on my MacBook Pro, Bluetooth went crazy. Devices are listed as connected but they don't work. I can't even turn Bluetooth off or on. I use the menu, nothing happens. I safe-booted, then rebooted, and the whole boot process looked crazy. Very very slow, menu bar slow in appearing, portions of it never appeared (the WiFi icon). Blue tooth still not working. So I deleted all devices from the Bluetooth control panel and tried to re-connect, but nothing works.

Feb 5, 2012after updating to 10.7.3. Bluetooth does not work anymore at my system (mid 2011 iMac). Batteries are new in both Apple Magic Mouse and Apple Wireless Keyboard.
I have installed the combo update, deleted bluetooth.plist file, cleared pram, deinstalled the bt mouse and keyboard, disabled Wifi and bluetooth, rebooted the computer, switch off any other devices in the flat (airport, phones) ...
But the apple bt mouse and the apple bt keybord does not work correctly. The mouse is not moving, or moves very slow and with dropouts. The keyboard is loosing connection quite often and if connected it types double letters with very slow response.Â
