I successfully created a new folder. But I can't drag anything in it and I can't drag it to the dock?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI didn't put the my documents folder in the trash can and empty the trash. I accidentally took it off the dock, so I went into Macintosh HD in order to put it back on the dock. I went under the "my places" tab and clicked and dragged the my documents tab, but I accidentally let go of the icon before it got to the dock and it disappeared. It was showing the little crumbled up piece of paper icon before it disappeared. So I don't know how to get the my documents folder back. It isn't anywhere on my desktop and it isn't in the Macintosh HD under the "my places" tab. I also don't know how to access the documents that were in there.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI moved my documents folder to my desktop and it disappeared and then i found another folder for my documents and moved it to my dock. And then a icon for my documents ended up on my desktop. When I delete the documents folder on my desktop the format for all my .rar files change to .vlc format. And if I keep the documents on my desktop the files are alright and I'm still able to use it. I tried changing the type of format but it still doesn't work. Does anyone know what I can do to delete the documents folder off of my desktop and keep the format the same??

My dock keeps returning to previous setting. It simply throws out added Applications and changing the order back to how they were before. I deleted the dock.list thing in preferences which made it worse. Now i only have the original Apps in my dock.

View 3 Replies View RelatedLast night (really late) I accidentally dragged the Application icon off the dock. I found another, dragged it on - now a Contact icon sits right on top of it so you cannot hardly see the Application file. How do I separate them? I deleted the other Contact icon, thinking that would do the trick, but no.

Emptied my trash and a vital folder in the dock is gone, with the questionmark icon on the folder now. I had not done anything I am aware of to m ove the contents of the folder to the trash. I do have a backup but it is a little more than 2 months old and I know there have been changes since then so recovered the folder is vital.

View 3 Replies View RelatedIn Old Leopard, when I opened the Applications folder from the dock, my app icons were small enough that all of them were displayed at once. In Snow Leopard, the icons are much larger, and there's a scroll bar at the side. I liked the old way better. Any way to get it back, other than going back to 10.5?

I've changed the icon for my "documents" folder, but the change did not take effect on my "documents" icon in my dock. I removed it from the dock, and dragged the "documents" folder with the new icon into the dock, but it just shows a generic blue folder. I logged off, and logged back in, but I still only see a generic blue folder.
