Tonight, not sure what I did, but I lost my blue download and documents folder. They are no longer on the dock of my Imac 27.
How do I get them back? I have never used Time Capsule.

My Applications and Documents folder on my dock dont seem to have the folders with there symbols on it, they seem to other material. How can I get them to show the folders. Im running on Snow Leopard!
View 6 Replies View Relatedi've been using liteicon and iconfinder.com to change my dock icons. for those who are familiar with using liteicon, im only able to change the finder, dashboard, trash empty/full, "url"??, and widget icons. these are easy to change with a simple dragging and dropping of the icon you want onto the icon you wish to change. but as for the other icons you may have put on your dock, im totally lost on. for an example, i've been trying to change my ichat icon, and ive read to click "get info" on the icon i chose to change it to, and click command + c, then go to the original ichat "get info" and click edit, then command + v (copy + paste obviously) and it's not working? i'm totally lost on how to change such icons that aren't listed in the liteicon application! the other question is how do i change the application/document/download icons on the dock? even through liteicon, i'm not able to change it. do i need a certain kind of file type?

My stacks have disappeared from my dock. I used to automatically get my downloads on the dock and they fanned out when I clicked on it. That is gone now... not sure if I did something to get rid of it, but I want it back.

Was successful in missing the bin but must have dropped it off the dock & now I can't figure out how to replace it.
I would actually prefer to just have a 'shortcut/icon' for 'my pictures' there instead, as 99% of the time I clicked stacks I would go there.
I have an IMAC with OS X Version 10.5.8
I downloaded a folder icon so I can use it on my dock. I used one that looks different from the usual blue folder. When I shut down the computer or restart it goes back to the bland blue folder. My questions is how can I keep the folder that I downloaded?

If I have the Stacks set to List, there's no problem, but if I try to use fan or grid, the whole Dock freezes and I have to force-quit it from Activity Monitor.Anyone else having this problem? I'm experiencing it on both my Power Mac G5 and on my MBP.
View 24 Replies View RelatedI recently replaced my white MacBook (OS X 10.5) with a new MacBook.
In the old dock:
I had created a folder within the HD called "launcher"--so it would appear at the top of the list. I created a custom icon for the folder, created an alias on the desktop. I then put the alias in the dock. When I would click on the folder it would open like stacks.
New dock:
If I do the above process, the folder opens as a finder window--no more stacks. If I pull the folder directly to the dock, without creating the alias, the folder opens as a stack, but the icon is gone and replaced with the generic folder icon.
Is there a way to have a custom icon and have the stack/folder open as stacks? I don't like the option of putting a image file as the first item in the folder because then the "icon" that appears is smaller and in front of the folder I hate.
I got the latest version of Imac OS X Leopard, Whatever. I just got my Imac and i saw stacks in the start. I was stupid so i delete documents and downloads from stacks and now i cant find stacks on my dock! Is there any way i can put stacks on my dock or add something to stacks? or do i have to download it or something? Pretty much, I cant add any Folders or files to the dock. But i can add apps to the dock.

i am wondering if there is a way to organize my dock icons in a better way and am familiar with the obligatory use of "stacks" for my Applications and Downloads etc. is there one way or various ways to handle this if I want to group icons in my dock? i found a url that describes how to do this by dragging apps from the applications folder but since i have already spent so much time doing this in the dock itself it it going to be a major pain to have to pick these out from around the ones that i am not keeping in my dock.

In Snow Leopard, the icons are much larger, and there's a scroll bar at the side. I liked the old way better. Any way to get it back, other than going back to 10.5?

I just got a MBA and I was removing a pdf doc that was in the the Documents stack on the Dock when it went "poof" and disappeared. I was had downloaded the pdf and moving it from the desktop to the Documents stack and then decided to put it back on the desktop. Other than moving the icon for it I did not do anything.

Ive recently downloaded a trail for the download accelerator DAP (Download Accelerator Plus) to speed up the download of a world of warcraft patch. Unfortunately, I had to delete this program when I realized that this was causing my computer to overheat due to pushing my computer's abilities through the roof. My computer has not been damaged in anyway, and i have "deleted" the program but when i still continue to try to download something it says that "DAP Plugin cannot find Download accelerator plus"; even thuogh i just deleted everything. so then i try to delete the plugin, but my mac says that "this item cannot be deleted when it is in use" but it really is not.
Can any of you help me to try to delete this plugin so i can start downloading again. After several attempts and techniques I STILL am not able to download anythinh
