Hardware :: Extended Wireless Network - Multiple Airport Express Wireless Setup
I'm working in a home/home-office environment right now which was setup by someone else and I've noticed some odd network behavior when moving about the property. Looking at the setup, the relevant portion is: Cable modem - Airport Extreme - 10 port wired switch - 3x Airport Express in different areas of the house. The configuration of each device has the Extreme and all three Express devices set to "create a wireless network" with the network name the same for all four of them. I am not a networking expert but I would have thought that the Extreme should be set to be the "master" in a WDS network and the Express should each be set to participate in that WDS network. If they're all hosting their own wireless network with the same name and the coverage overlaps, how does a PC know which one it's using? Or maybe this doesn't matter. I just know that when we move from one room to another we frequently have to re-select the wireless network to establish connectivity.

Hardware :: Unable To Install Wireless Printer / Wlan Setup Asking For Password
I've been working on this for about 8 hours and I'm going nuts. I am using an Imac OS X version 10.5.8.I purchased a Canon MP560 today and can't figure out the problem. I don't even know where to start. I'm trying to connect the wireless printer using Airport. There is nothing listed when I click on 'Preferences- Print and Fax'.

I read the instructions that came with the printer several times, up to a point. I clicked 'wireless lan setup' on the printer. It's asking me for a lan access point and a wep key. I've used Google until I can't even think anymore. I read Airport is like a router, or can be used as a router. The blue light is on on the printer, and it says it's searching for a connection but can find one.

When I go to Airport utility (my router is a Time Capsule), I tell it to set up a new connection, give it a name and password, tell it to connect using pppoe and enter in the same username and password as given by my ISP for that, and finish and everything seems to go ok, and it shows that i connect to the network, but pages wont load...

OS X Leopard :: Transferring Network Printer Settings From One Computer To Another?
so I just got a brand new macbook pro that has the latest os x 10.5.7, and I'm using it at work. I need to print files off of indesign in a specific way that my computer doesn't know how to. One of the work computers has been setup before and i need to transfer the presets from that computer to this one. I've tried replacing my com.apple.print.custompresets.plist file and that didn't work. Then i called applecare and they said transfer files from the hidden folder etc. I copied the ppd folder and the two files right below it which were printers.conf and printers.con.O, and that didn't work either. So finally i tried to save the preset settings directly from indesign by going to print presets/define/save, then i put that file on my computer and tried opening the file as a preset setting but it said that indesign cannot locate the ppd specified by the preset.

OS X Tiger :: Airport Connection Not Made To Wireless Network "Network Settings Have Been Changed"
Last night I backed up my MacBookPro by connecting it to my desktop Mac with the MacBookPro in target disk mode. The backup completed, but I allowed the battery on the laptop to deplete. After restarting the laptop, my airport connection was not made to my wireless network. After connecting, I checked the System Preferences - Network. I get a message: "Your network settings have been changed by another application." with an "OK" button. After clicking OK, the message returns. It won't go away. I have been able to click the "click the lock to prevent further changes" in between message return to stop it. System Preferences becomes confused and I must force quit. However after reboot, I'm still not connecting to my wireless LAN unless I manually make the connection.

MacBook Pro :: Wireless Home Network Setup?
My first Mac! Love it but i have a problem with my wireless home network setup.

iTunes music and photos stored on a Buffalo Terastation Live network drive via a PC can be accessed by new MacBook Pro (iTunes will play the music and Preview will show the photos) But with the music files it doesn't show any cover art etc and the photos cannot be opened in iPhoto. I know I can transfer all these files to the new Mac but they need to accessed by other devices (PCs and a Sonos multiroom music system) so need to stay on the network drive. This would also take up alot of space on the hard drive as i have around 15,000 tunes in addition to the 10,000 photos etc.

I have been trying to configure my time capsule to work with all of my computers with no success. Only 2 can access the internet. I Have a mac mini, 2 mac book pros and a pc.

Hardware :: Setup Wireless Network In Room With Airport Express
im off to college in 2 weeks and would like to set up a wireless network in my residence room with my airport express. Its a small room, but i would still like to be able to move from my desk to bed or whatever without wires, and also i would like to be able to hide my printer somewhere. Heres the catch. My residence doesn't allow wireless networks for some reason. I know i can make my network hidden. But will that be enough to keep them from finding out? I imagine every now and then they might just scan for networks to see whats out there. But if mines hidden, i shouldnt have a problem, correct? Just want to make sure. Not sure what the consequences are, but im sure they would just ask to shut it down.

OS X :: Can't Get New Wireless Printer To Find Network
I've been trying all day to get my new wireless printer to find my wireless network. No joy.

I have an airport extreme router connected to an AT&T 2WIRE modem. The guys that installed the AT&T stuff recently said I normally wouldn't need the airport extreme because the 2WIRE serves as both modem and router, however it does not work with an airport express, which I have in another room to boost the signal. So when the printer looks for the (SSID) network, it sees my apple network, which is what my macbook and windows vista laptops also see and connect to. After that, I'm entering the wireless network key from the 2WIRE.

OS X Leopard :: MBP Can Print To Network Printer Wired But Not Wireless?
Xerox Phaser 6120, connected via ethernet to Dlink wireless router.

Two iMacs, two PC (one XP, one windows 7) all print fine. One Dell laptop prints fine wireless.

New MBP pro cannot print wireless... it can surf wireless, ftp, it can ping static IP of printer fine.

If I delete the printer in system preferences, it cannot see it wireless. If I shut airport off and plug in an ethernet cable, it immediately finds the printer, and can print to it, report on supplies it. If I then switch back to wireless, and attempt to print, it says "Looking for Phaser 6120(94:DB:16)", which is the printer as it discovered it while connected via ethernet cable.

Hardware :: Unable To Print From Wireless Network / Problem In Communicating With Printer
I'm trying to get used my first iMac, and I'm having a bit of trouble printing from my wireless network. I have an HP Officejet 6210 that I have been using for the last couple of years with my Windows computer. I'm trying to print off of that through my network, but I keep getting this error

"There is a problem communicating with the printer. Make sure the printer is powered on and connected to the computer. Delete or stop the job and try again."

I have printer sharing turned on through my Windows computer since the printer is connected directly through my windows computer. My other Windows computer that I have at the house can print through the network, but I'm having problems doing so with my iMac. I have the right driver selected through system preferences/print & fax, but it just won't print.

Any suggestions about what I'm doing wrong, or is there something I'm missing?

MacBook Pro :: Connecting To LanierLD145 Printer Via Shared Wireless Network
I am a new intern with a small company and am trying to connect my Macbook Pro's printer settings to our office printer, which is a LanierLD145. We halso have an HP3600 on the same wireless network which my Macbook can detect and print to just fine via the shared network server. However, when I try to find the LanierLD145 I can't find it anywhere on my shared network or via a wireless to connection in order to print to it from my laptop.

I have access to the desktop I believe the printer is routed to the server through and have "shared printer with network" via this computer. However, I still cannot find the LD145 icon on my macbook when I try to connect and print, even when going through the "Windows"-> (shared server) route. I've also installed apple's "general lanier printer driver" in hopes have luck finding the printer if I have the driver installed, but that has not worked either. How I can connect the macbook to the LanierLD145 via my wireless server connection?
