I can't move it or delete it and it appears in the same place on screen even when surfing the web. Also, since this appeared I can't move other items on my desktop.

Mar 22, 2012I have 2 mail accounts setup in Mail. They are on separate domains I host on my server. One account works great, the other gives this error message every time I try to send. "Sending the message content to the server failed." It offeres me to use a different outgoing mail server.I am on latest Lion 10.7.3. mail version os 5.2 (latest). I connect through Airport Extreme.I Googled the problem and searched everywhere. I also tried deleting and setting up the account. I checked all my settings (multiple times). There is nothing to fix in settings. The Connection doctor does not see any problems.
Here is the really frustrating part: Messages actually get sent. The recipeint always receives them. If I try again with the same server, I get the same error message and again message gets sent. But to Mail it is still unsent and sits in Outbox prompting to send.I also tried the MTU trick. No luck. I should also say that I have seen this problem before on other accounts. I've also seen it come and go. It happened on Snow Leoprad and Leopard too.

Mar 23, 2012Every time I do a spotlight search, intending only to get filenames (that's what it says in greyed out lettering in the search field), the Spotlight results show content as well with the result I have sometimes 1000s of items listed when I just want results containing filenames only. The search results are useless?How do I get Spotlight to search for filenames only? This is how Search used to be in Classic and for a while in OSX.Â

OS X V10.7 Lion :: ITunes Not Showing Content That AppleTV Shows?
Mar 28, 2012I have a very large iTunes library, with content spread over multiple volumes. Recently, I would add, say, a movie to the iTunes library. I don't have iTunes set to copy content into the library, so it stays where it is. Now, the item looks like it got added. If, within iTunes, I'm in the "Movies" library, and I search for the movie I just added, it isn't there. I do a search for it, and it isn't there. However, all the AppleTVs connected to the library show that it is there, and I can play it.Â
So, clearly the item has made it into the library, otherwise it wouldn't be streamed to the connected AppleTVs, (and iPhones, and iPads). But, it still will not show up in the iTunes library list. No matter what I do. I can quit and relaunch iTunes, I can quit iTunes and open it back up with the "option" key to that I can specifcally choose that library, etc. But, it never shows up in the list. I just upgraded to iTunes 10.6.1, and still, no dice. It will not show up in the iTunes list, but I can still play it from shared iPhones, iPads, and AppleTVs.

Oct 20, 2010I just noticed that the magsafe and the MiniDisplayPort are on opposite sides on the new Airs. It seems to me that this would pose a significant issue with the bundled cables on the 24" Cinema display (can the cable reach both sides?). I'm not home at the moment, so I can't really envision the length of the unbundled portion of the cord and the width of the computer.

I want to create a rule for junk. Ever changing junk email addresses, content etc. Sometime mail recognies it and sometimes not. How can I set up a rule, filter, etc to delete these permamnently . Its hard when the sender address is ever changing, or the content is never the same. IE one day it is from weatherx@

Mac Pro :: Black Border Around All Sides Of Screen When Connecting To HDTV Via HDMI
Sep 8, 2008I've seen a few posts about this problem on Macrumors and through Google searches, but I haven't found a solution to the "Black Border" problem some of us are having when connecting Macs to HDTV's via HDMI cables. Nor am I certain what the cause of the problem is: Mac?, TV?, HDMI cable length?
For me, resetting PRAM by holding Command-Option-P-R at startup and waiting for two chimes removes the black border for up to several computer restarts, but eventually the border comes back until I reset PRAM, again.
I have a 55' long HDMI cable from Monoprice ("HDMI Tin-Plated Copper CL2 Rated (For In-Wall Installation) Cable (22AWG) - 35ft (Gold Plated)") running from a Mac Pro with an ATI Radeon video card to a 52" Mitsubishi 1080p HDTV.
To clarify, this is not just a black bar at the top and bottom like when watching certain DVD's, but a black border around all four sides that effectively reduces the size of your TV from, e.g. 52" to 46" whether watching movies, surfing the web, or otherwise using the Mac via an HDTV

Jan 13, 2010I'm a happy Mac user and always have been. I recieved a 2006 13 in White MacBook for my birthday a couple of years ago, and it's been working really well. One thing I've noticed since about a half a year ago is the casing coming off. It will come off on small strips around the edges. What's causing this and how can I get it fixed? Someone told me that if you take it to the Mac store, you can have the casing fixed for free because it's a defect and that's why they moved to unibody models. Is this true? The same person also told me that they'll only fix it if it's on the side facing closest to you. If it's on the other sides with the ports and the cd player, they won't do anything about it/charge you to get it fixed?
