I recently deleted the app speed download and didn't use the uninstaller so I'm worried my browsers may be looking for that and it's not there. I'm not getting any popups or anything when I try to download something, safari just goes to a black/grey screen and nothing happens. Please help!!

When i did that it deleted safari, so i used firefox. Now when i go to firefox to search for safari to download it again, firefox freezes up and won't let me download safari. What should i do to get internet access again?

View 2 Replies View Relatedmy safari and firefox wouldnt start download some links automatically. for examples some megaupload links and some website like this one [URL]. when u click on 'UNSUPPORTED TETHERED REDSN0W - REDSN0W LITE' firefox or safari should start the download automatically, put mine wouldnt. i have to right click and choose 'save file as' to download the file. i have a friend, she's using the same spec macbook as me and she also uses the same wifi as me, when i gave her the megaupload link which i can't download and also the website [URL], she didnt have any problem downloading them.

Instead nothing happens or it try so open in a document viewer, for example: [URL].What do I do? I have not made any changes except update os 10.7 and adobe reader. I have a mass amount of files to download listed on a Web page. When I click the link, the file downloads, but the link on my downloads page never changes colors to note that the link has been visited.
Is this a bug and is there a work around for my HTML page? Currently I'm using javascript to change link colors.
When downloading small files online they will download through Speed Download. Before I installed Speed Download it would just download through the regular downloading client. How do I change it back to using the regular one as standard? I use firefox btw

View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently uninstalled transmission the bitTorrent client. I did this because it was taking too long and was told uninstalling it and reinstalling it might help. When I went to reinstall it nothing happened. I clicked on the download button and the screen moved on to a plain white screen with the words transferring data at the bottom, the cursor had its little egg timer thing but it just sat there for ages. Nothing happened and after a few minutes I tried another client, same thing happened again. Or is it just me making a fool of myself? I use max OS X 10.4.11 and my ISP is bt.

I found some older stuff like this but nothing for MAC.
I know i download all the pictures if they're being displayed in some form, is my computer doing this already and saving them some place I don't know about?
I tried out iGetter and Downloader as download managers. I then removed them both. However when I now click on a download click nothing happens. I suspect that there is some remnant of one or both which tries to call the program but can't find it.

I have a G5 that is running OS 10.5.8. There is no sound when a video is playing in a browser, for example Utube, GoogleVideo, etc. That is so with all the browsers - Safari, Firefox, Navigator, Wyzo, etc. However the sound does play when playing a video under a normal video player - QuickTime Player, VLC, RealPlayer, etc.

My Safari has been crashing for MONTHS now but recently it would do so more when opening up Youtube on another tab, so I resorted to using firefox for that. But now Safari will crash for NO reason, I'd simply check my email then open another tab and BAM it crashes and lately it wont even let me send the report to apple! And on top of that Firefox wont even open for a second before that crashes too!
Also, I downloaded the new version of Flash, but it wouldn't work on safari and from reading on here I found out the new version wasn't compatible with my mac os x version so I uninstalled and reinstalled the old version like someone said to do and it worked for firefox but it still wasn't working for safari.
Anyways, I tried the "remove flackback" thing and it said "No flashback malware found"... so I have no clue what's going on.

Safari 4 has got an import feature. But what kind of file does it want? In any case I haven't a clue how to export my bookmarks from FireFox into any particular file. Do you?
The only thing I could think of to do was go into FF's Bookmarks edit mode and copy/paste the bookmarks menu into an .rtf and an .html file. But that bombed: Safari 4's import wanted neither.

A site that I visit regularly has recently started giving me an error whenever I try to access it. I can get there just fine using the latest Firefox. I've tried emptying the cache and resetting Safari to no avail.

Well I ran that test. I opened 33 tabs in FF 1.5.01 on my iBook (see sig). FF doesn't bat an eyelash, no slowdown whatsoever.
I'd love to use Safari more, it's so fast and smooth, but whenever I use it's RSS reading function it feels so redundant and dumb, it's like why don't I just go to the blog as I normally do? I love how in Firefox I can just see all the new stories quickly in a drop-down menu and go stright to the ones I want to read right away, is there no way at all to do that in Safari? Or is there some plugin program out there that does that?
