OS X Leopard :: Skype And Firefox Won't Download?
I have bought a pre-owned eMac and wanted to use Skype however it won't download. The page begins to download then just stops. Thinking it might be the Safari browser at fault, I tried unsucessfully to download the Firefox browser on the Apple site downloads page. The search bar says 'Failed to open page' and the "Activity" box says "operation could not be completed.(NSURLErrorDomain error-999.) Also I tried to download the latest security update for OS X but it won't download either. The dropdown box for the Updates says "downloading 1 item" with the orange box icon, and then another box drops with the software update blue icon saying "The update "Mac OS X Update" can't be saved. A networking error has ocurred: Cannot open file (-3001). Make sure you can connect to the Internet, then try again."

Safari :: Visited Download Links Don't Change Color (but Do In FireFox)
I have a mass amount of files to download listed on a Web page.  When I click the link, the file downloads, but the link on my downloads page never changes colors to note that the link has been visited.

Is this a bug and is there a work around for my HTML page?  Currently I'm using javascript to change link colors.

OS X V10.7 Lion :: Download Won't Start - No Progress Bar
I purchased Lion at the App Store. I hit Download, it goes grey for about 3 seconds, then "Download" shows again. I get no progress bar. It appears to be locked up for some reason and won't start the download.Lion is listed in my Purchases, so the purchase appears to have gone OK. It just won't start the download.I am running OS 10.6.8, on a 2x2.4GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon.

I dragged the following to the trash:

Maybe it thinks I have already downloaded but I can't find it in my Downloads, and the "Download" button would not be there if it thought this.

I have no problem with any other site. This issue isn't confined to Safari, I have the same problem using firefox. Could it be something to do with the machine blocking access.

Applications :: Safari Won't Automatically Load 1 Password
I've been using 1password and have had a massive annoyance ever since I upgraded to Snow Leopard. Safari doesn't load 1password (3 - I've been using it since the beta started) the first time I use it after switching on my mac. I have to actually open 1password then refresh whatever page I wanted to use autofill on and after that it works whether I quit and reopen safari or just leave it running. This is a pain because I shouldn't have to add 1password to my startup items (that would be even more annoying). Has anyone else had this problem. I've tried various combinations of removing/adding the extension, disabling extensions (in 1password) uninstalling/reinstalling 1password, resetting Safari et cetera but none of it has made any difference. I've been running the latest Safari and latest 1password every time.

MacBook :: Safari Won't Even Use WiFi Correctly, Firefox Works 90% Of The Time?
1. Incredibly flaky wireless. Safari won't even use WiFi correctly, Firefox works 90% of the time, but sometimes it just kicks my WiFi off. Same with Windows XP in VMWare.3. Above all, I'll be in the middle of doing a project, AND IT WILL DEMAND I TURN IT OFF? Why!? Why would I want to turn it off? It makes me for god's sakes, and I lose whatever I was doing. See the picture attached below, it's happened half a dozen time in five days, and no way to stop it.

MacBook Air :: Browser Won't Open Pages (neither Firefox Nor Safari)
I began to have this same problem on my old MacBook within the last year...but I now have a brand spanking new MacBook Air (as in 1 week old) and it's worse than ever.

Extremely often - sometimes 2 out of 3 webpages, it seems - the browzer says it can't find the server or otherwise won't open a page (takes veeeery long to do so. Then eventually gives me a "can't find" screen when I try to click around.). There's nothing wrong w the internet - it works just fine on my husband's computer. Sometimes it helps to switch browzers but mostly not.

OS X V10.7 Lion :: Suddenly Safari Won't Load Page While Chrome And Firefox Can
I’ll try to be as specific as I can. I’m running Safari 5.1.7

From time to time, Safari seems to encounter a problem with opening https (Hyper Text Transfer Protocol Secure). Either the page won’t open or the page will take deveral minutes to load (like four minutes to load Twitter home page).

When it happens, it seems to cause Safari the misbehave with any other page: Safari becomes in effect broken. Meanwhile, pages load normally in Chrome or Firefox.

Sometimes, restarting the computer will fix the problem (for a while), but sometime it doesn’t. I’ve also tried to empty Safari’s cache and flush its DNS. It doesn’t always work. I coming here because I restarted by computer half an hour ago and pages are still loading in Safari.

Other valuable information:

1) The problem with https existed prior to me upgrading to 5.1.7

2) I can be using Safari for days before I encounter the problem

3) I usually work with thre or four windows open, each loaded with about ten tabs.

OS X Leopard :: Unusual Download In Both Safari And Firefox?
I have never seen this before. On my son's Al PB 1.5GHz when he clicks on a download link it seems to just re-load the page. To download the file he needs to drag the link to the download window (or right click and download linked file). This happens in Safari and FireFox. The problem is with buttons that trigger a script to download the file, where he hasn't figured out how to download the file. Again this happens in both browsers.

But when I start up my computer, instead of opening up a window, it starts up safari in the dock, but never actually opens a window. When I click on the icon in the dock the page will open up. Its acting as if I hid(CMD+H) the page. I know safari is open and it loaded the homepage, but the window wont actually open.

I've tried it on two different computers, Macbook pro, mac pro with same issue on both.
