I tried out iGetter and Downloader as download managers. I then removed them both. However when I now click on a download click nothing happens. I suspect that there is some remnant of one or both which tries to call the program but can't find it.
View 1 RepliesI'm looking for something more comprehensive than FF's inbuilt password. However, I was also hoping that the password manager would integrate nicely with Firefox. Right now, I'm looking at KeePassX and 1password. KeePassX is exactly what I want (secure, open source, etc) but I can't seem to figure out a way to integrate it seamlessly with FF- does anyone know how? As for 1password, I have difficulty trusting my password with it as it's close source and I'm paranoid that the commercial developer who coded it might have left a backdoor somewhere in the program (I know the probabilities of that are trivial, but as I said, I'm paranoid). So, are there any better alternatives out there?

I need it to be stable, configurable (manage speed, manage time, etc.) and working with sites as rapidshare, hotiso, etc. I have found Leech, Folx Pro, Speed Download, iGetter (any other better ones ?) Which one should I use?

But the first time I logged on to a specific new site, password manager popped up asking if I wanted it to remember my log on information. Instead of hitting "remember", I accidentally hit "never remember". It's driving me nuts because its the one site I visit every day, and can't figure out how to un-do it other than re-register under a new name, which would be too much of a hassle since it's my stock brokerage site.

and you can set up in more detail about what kind of private information you want firefox to remember.
when clear private data, you can select if you want to clear everything, or just the data from past hour, past 2 hours, or past 4 hours.
I was downloading a large 1.3GB file and when I paused it and resumed it again, it stopped working. All I have now is the .part file that is 999MB. Is there anyway that I can resume downloading this file from the 999MB point, so I don't have to download from the start again?

If I change this path to a path on the other drive which has space, is it going to mess up what I already have in my tunes library? View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently uninstalled transmission the bitTorrent client. I did this because it was taking too long and was told uninstalling it and reinstalling it might help. When I went to reinstall it nothing happened. I clicked on the download button and the screen moved on to a plain white screen with the words transferring data at the bottom, the cursor had its little egg timer thing but it just sat there for ages. Nothing happened and after a few minutes I tried another client, same thing happened again. Or is it just me making a fool of myself? I use max OS X 10.4.11 and my ISP is bt.

Anybody have an opinion as to a good password manager for osx? I'm looking for something simple that'll keep track of various accounts and passwords for me. I've been doing it with pen and paper for a while but there must be something out there - maybe even a widget? I guess I'd like it to have some degree of security (a password for the password manager - how do I remember that one) so maybe a widget doesn't work. A small app then - preferably freeware.

I just installed safari 4 and it completely does not work. It will load a site and I cant do anything on it. Nothing clicks, I cant scroll, nothing. Its not frozen, I can move it around my desktop and go under the preferences, but I literally cant use it.

When i did that it deleted safari, so i used firefox. Now when i go to firefox to search for safari to download it again, firefox freezes up and won't let me download safari. What should i do to get internet access again?
