I just installed the latest build a few days ago on my MacBook and noticed that when I have the inbox selected I see all my notes are mixed in there as well. I had to create a smart mailbox that filters out notes in order to view it the same way as 10.5. Pretty annoying.
View 7 RepliesI'm creating audio fade in and out transitions on my voiceovers. I want them all to fade from -3dB. Is there a easier way to apply this on every audio track without applying it manually / one-by-one?
I tried selecting them all and change it in the inspector, but it did not work. As in, it did not have any effect.
I have got a bit of a complex shoot coming up. I am filming a one-shot video. There are a few sections which slow down to half speed and a few that go to double. I am filming it at 50p, so when I edit, I can halve the speed to get a nice slo mo at 25p is great for some moments and then have some of it running at 'real time' and then double the speed for the other parts. Â
The issue is that I don't want the other two sections (the 'real time' and double speed) to be at 50p and 100p respectively. Is there any way I can convert those sections to 25p, so it all ends up at 25p?Â
I have several clips in the Timeline that I want to change the duration. I just want one frame taken away from each clip. So I click on the clip in the Timeline, then Control+D to show duration in the Dashboard. I type in the new duration I want, which is one frame less. It takes one frame off the Back of the clip. How do I get it to take the frame off the Front of the clip?

After updating to 10.1.2 it seems that FCPX now uses a different file naming scheme on imported AVCHD files. Â
Previously on import, it would use a file naming scheme based on date ie. '2014-06-14 10_49_47 (id).mov' etc. which is great for me as I could see exactly what date & time that clip was created at a glance in the event viewer, also when a camera on a shoot had it's time out by an hour due to an incorrect daylight saving setting, I could use easily go through the clips tweaking the time in the file name & then they would show in the correct order in FCPX.Â
Now 10.1.2 just imports the clips using the useless file naming scheme of 'clip #1.mov' etc ...
Any way to get FCPX to import using the old naming scheme - or am I now boned if I have a camera set incorrectly ...
When I try to change the settings for my Mail app, in Snow Leopard, the incoming mail settings are greyed out. What do I do to be able to change these?Â
(I had a problem, with my Mail account, which a consultant fixed for me on my laptop. But I cannot remember what he did to access the incoming mail server preferences, and make the changes, because on my desktop these are still greyed out.)

Everything works great, but each time when I receive an e-mail and thus the dock email notification appears, the icon will switch back to the original Outlook icon. Only after I've checked my e-mail will the icon switch back to my custom icon again.
Is there a way to retain my custom icon even upon receiving the e-mail notification on the dock icon?
Is there a way to change the way Mail displays attachments? I hate how when attaching certain file types, such as PDF, instead of just showing multiple attachments in a nice little list, it shows you the whole freaking preview of the attachment and you lose track of what file (or type) it even is in the process.

It isn't incorrect - so what do I do get some sense out of Mail (because I have and old workhorse that does all the mail, and has a huge library of mail that is preserved). That means that at the moment I can't get or view my mail. I have done as advised - ie set up Mail to go to iCloud using the correct incoming and outgoing servers, but no luck.Summary: Changed to iCloud. Access denied in Mail. I don't expect the full features of iCloud (our other machine can do that if we need it because it has Lion - bu that's not my machine).

I'm trying to correct a problem with my wife's iCloud email account. I cannot change the 'Incoming Mail Server' name in the 'Account Information panel. If I delete the account and start a new one, I can enter the correct name ... "imap.mail.me.com". However, once I click on create, the Incoming Mail Server name reverts to 'mail.example.com.Â

Upgraded hosting plans and have to change my mail server address. I can change my SMTP server but Mail won't allow me to change the incoming mail server. It's greyed out. If I try to delete the account, it says the account is shared with other programs and must be removed in Internet Accounts control panel but it's not listed there to be removed or changed.

I cannot send any emails at present, because my Mac is sending a syntactically invalid HELO command to the SMTP server I'm using. I see the following: 2009-11-13 00:25:47 rejected HELO from [173.78.137.13]: syntactically invalid argument(s): joe-mason-imac: scappian:joe-mason-imac.home My question - where can I change the HELO argument that is being used. I suspect it is invalid at present because there is a 'space' in the argument.
