OS X V10.6 Snow Leopard :: Mail Rules Don't Save After Quitting Mail
Feb 4, 2012I have a rule that copies an email to the ON MY MAC and then another that MOVES TO A FOLDER in Mobileme. They are in this order. The problem is when I quit Mail the Folder I am copying to is changed to the Mobileme folder so I end up with a duplicate. It doesn't change until Mail is quit. The other odd part, there one arragement like this that did savef at some point and works as expected.
I have tried having both of these rules combined into 1 and have the same results.

May 18, 2012Woke up the other morning and launched Mail and received the window below. Tried to check software updates and got the same thing. All other apps work fine. Can't find OSX disks so I can't reinstall Mail before Monday as my disks are at my office. Tried to replace Mail from Time Machine to no avail. Running a iMac, 10.6.8 with external CD drive and iomega eternal drive as my backup.

Apr 4, 2012Given that when setting up the iCloud account on Mail no password, as far as I remember, the procedure does not ask for a password (that infact is inexistent), I wonder why sometimes a dialog box like this one appears. It'a little bit bothering, as I have to press the "Cancel" button to dismiss it: the account works fine, though, and it couldn't be different, as I have no idea of what to write in that dialog box.

(I had a problem, with my Mail account, which a consultant fixed for me on my laptop. But I cannot remember what he did to access the incoming mail server preferences, and make the changes, because on my desktop these are still greyed out.)

But I can't get to my Internet accounts nor Icloud, since it couldn't load the preference pane. I've done the diagnostic tests before and haven't heard back from Support all summer.

Mar 12, 2012I have an Intel iMac and loving it, I bought it last December and Apple mail was just perfect. But recently every day I get an error message saying Yahoo has rejected my password and to re-enter, with an option to save in keychain. The password keeps being rejected but if I go into Yahoo mail on Safari then all seems fine and Apple mail works. I also have an iphone and ipad and these are fine, no password issues at all.
I know there has been a Yahoo update recently and I thought it could be that but then surely the iphone/ipad would also be affected. Equally there has been Lion updates and it all started around that time.
I have tried deleting the password in keychain and starting again, no help. I have deleted the email account and stated again

Oct 7, 2005I'm running Tiger on an iMac G5. I have had no problems with my mail account for the year that I've had the G5..until now. All of a sudden, I can't get my mail from my comcast pop account. It keeps asking for my password. When I enter the password (which I've had for over 6 years), it tells me that it is incorrect. So, I threw away my accounts and rebuilt them. Upon rebuilding, it said there was an error contacting comcast. What's confusing me is, I NEVER changed ANY setting and there was never a problem before a week ago. Needless to say, creating a new account didn't work. I called comcast, and SURPRISE!! they say it's a problem with Mac Mail and not Comcast. I verified my setting with them and they said that they were correct. The incoming is mail.comcast.net and the incoming is smtp.comcast.net - the port is set to the default of 25. If anyone can help, I'd really appreciate it. I really on my email to get homework assignments, credit card statements, account verifications, and updates for software (garagesale updates almost daily). If you need any other info to help me, please feel free to ask. I will keep checking back - but have a lot of hwk. to get done tonight.
