Is it possible to adjust the header/ footer side margins independently from the main body's margins?
I know you can adjust the margins for 'header from top' and 'footer from bottom', but I would like to have my header to go right to the edge of the page instead of remain within the 3cm from edge margins I have set for the main body.
Another question if anyone can help is how can I write in a header say, Mr.Brown on the left hand side and on the same line, but on the right hand side, write the date?
OS X Yosemite :: 10.10.1 - Can't Adjust Volume
Dec 10, 2014I just bought a new 15 inch retina display macbook pro a couple days ago, it came with yoemite installed, it was 10.10. I did a software update and now its 10.10.1 the problem is when I try to adjust the volume the following icons appear, sound source are the internal speakers and i don't have any earphones/external speakers connected.

OS X Yosemite :: Can't Adjust PDF Line Size?
Dec 11, 2014I have been writing a book using Text Edit RTF for composition, and then exporting to PDF.
Before Yosemite, when I changed the width of the RTF writing window (say, from 65 letters per line to 75 letters per line), and then exported to PDF, the PDF reflected the change in letter count - IE the PDF now would show 75 letters per line, just like the RTF did.
Now, with Yosemite, the letter count stays the same in the exported PDF no matter how many letters per line are in the RTF before export.
This is a big problem for me because I was formatting the pages based on 70 letters-per-line and now I am getting PDFs that have 90+ letters per line. This means that all the headings that I had at the top of pages are showing up a few lines either way from the top. This messes up the look of the pages and makes it harder for the reader to spot topics they want to focus on.
Any way to get the letter count to stay the same in the PDF export as it is in the RTF/Text Edit page before export?

Nov 24, 2009HiI'm gonna purchase the 27" iMac but I'm curious about an aspect of monitors I've never considered. The iMac has a contrast ratio of 1000:1. When I look at ads for TVs, whether it's LCDs or plasmas, the contrast ratios are significantly greater. Can the contrast ratios of TVs be compared directly to computer monitors? Is for example the 1000:1 on the iMac exactly equivalent to a 1000:1 specification on a TV?

But how do I customise the 'open file' window. Every time I open a file I have to increase the size of the window, change the view and then look for my files.... is there a way to set the default view to what I would wish it to be?

Dec 18, 2009Today while working with an InDesign document it crashed and I had to reboot the hard way. After starting up again the colors of my screen was all twisted and strange. It's like a very high contrast/bad resolution. Except for the screen-issue the machine works fine. I tried changing setting in preferences/display (no. of colors, resolution and color profiles) didn't work. I then tried resetting the PRAM, which didn't have any effect either. I tried creating a new user and logging into the account - and it looked fine? It's probably just a pref-file that need rebuilding or the like, but I have no clue as to where that might be. I work on a G5 PowerMac with Tiger on it.

Jun 29, 2014the contrast brush (or tool) became much smaller, even at maximum size setting. Other tools are not affected. I've rebooted several times, even had a hard crash (spinning beach ball), but after restart the problem remains. The diameter of the tool on screen is somewhat relative to file size, but on average the maximum diameter setting offers a contrast tool diameter of about 1 inch…maybe 1 ½ inches. On a 27 inch monitor, that's not much. What can I do to achieve a "reset" on the diameter of this tool?

Apr 17, 2012my imac g5 wont boot up. I get the folder with the question mark coming up.I have reset the smu & pram. Still not booting. I have tried to restart with option key, but only the two arrow keys displays. No hardrive icon displaying. I have tried to re-install with original disk os 10.3.5 but device keeps on spitting out the dvd's( I also have tried Tiger OS 10.4 and Leppard 10.5same issue) . I notice also that the fan runs loud after a few minutes. I checked the Hard drive via another device and found it unallocated. I reformatted and re-installed. No go after rebootinng.

Nov 25, 2010I purchased and installed the Commell MPX-3132 in place of my Airport Card. Installation was very easy and the RAID drivers work perfectly. I cloned my HD to my SSD using CCC and everything shows up fine via ESATA and USB. When I try to boot from it via ESATA it is not recognized, but it boots perfectly from USB. I Booted to it via USB and installed the RAID drivers onto the SSD then tried to boot via ESATA again with no luck. The SSD I bought is the Corsair Force 120 and the enclosure is a Hornettek usb/esata [URL:...] I haven't had a chance to test another enclosure.

Jan 26, 2009First, I have a mid-2008 Aluminum iMac, Intel Core 2 Duo, 2.4 Ghz, 2GB Ram, running OS X 10.5.6. So two days ago, it started hanging on me. Prior to this I have never had any problems with it. I had mail open, a browser window and a chat window. Started getting the spinning beach ball of death. It finally totally locked up on me and I have to force it to shut down.
However, upon reboot, it would not get past the white screen with the apple logo and the spinning gray gear icon. I'm talking like 10-15 minutes. I forced it to shut down (probably not a good idea) and this time on reboot I got the folder icon with the question mark as if firmware could not locate the booter file. I loaded the install DVD that came with the mac and ran Disk Utilities.................
