I am planning on buying the upgrade of Snow Leopard from the Apple store on Saturday. Do you think they will sell out fast, or will Apple prepare for the worst and stock on alot?

AppleInsider reader inewton1974 pointed us to an annotated Flickr album of nearly four dozen Snow Leopard screenshots he published a bit earlier in the week. He begins by noting that the software's setup assistant will now warn users if they don't supply a password hint and claims that QuickLook capabilities have been built into universal Open and Save dialog windows.
Another interesting discovery is Apple's use of transition effects within the new Cocoa-based Finder. In particular, the Clean Up command for tidying Finder windows reportedly "slides" icons into place instead of shifting them abruptly. This is described as a "a neat visual effect," and several others similar to it are likely to follow. The Finder also present an slider control for resizing icons in the lower right-hand corner of windows displayed in icon mode, as can be seen in the first screenshot below. Additionally, it's noted that a QuickTime preference pane is absent from Snow Leopard, as are any preferences from within the QuickTime X Player itself, leading to renewed speculation that Apple may do away with its premium QuickTime Pro offering entirely. All of the following questions are in regards to Snow Leopard and my 2008 mac pro Octo.
1) Will Final Cut Pro 6 from FCS2 work? If so, any issues, and will I see a performance increase/decrease? (I have 8 cores dual ati 2600's)
2) Will Quicktime pro carry over when I install Snow Leopard? And Will it use all 8 cores?
3) Will Final Cut Pro 6 have an issue with the new quicktime?
4) Will visual hub, mpegstreamclip, or Handbreak be incompatible with snow leopard?
5) Will my final cut pro projects that I created in leopard, still work when I install snow leopard?
6) Will Word 2003 work with Snow Leopard?
I use my mac pro to make a living, should I risk installing Snow Leopard if Leopard works fine? Or do you think I should wait?
I purchased a 13" MacBook Pro in late December of 2011. After working with it for 6 months I've realized I should have bought the 15" model instead. Does Apple accept "trade-ins" if a customer chooses to upgrade?

I went to three stores today (different companies including Best Buy) and they all said that the Apple Remotes are out of stock and there are 0 on order or are unable to order them right now. One employee told me that they always order more and this typically only happens when the item has been discontinued for another model. The only reason I went to a B&M is because Amazon has been out of them for awhile now. So.... is a new remote coming... or is Apple just behind demand?

Have just upgraded my macbook to Lion. I logged into the app store, bought, downloaded and installed Lion no problem.
After upgrade I returned to the app store to download ibooks author. I can find ibooks author but when I try and install the app I have to sign in and I get a "connection failed" error message.
The same happens in iTunes when I try and view my account - "The network connection failed"
I can access the internet with no problems - including secure sites. I can access software update with no problems.
I have made no changes to my network settings - could sign in and download apps before upgrade, unable to after upgrade.

Click Change Store to view this article". If I click to change the Store from the Spanish to the American store, I have to fill the data but my ID apple is not working on the "foreign" store. What can I do? Is there a way to buy / download items from a different Itunes stores?

I just bought a $10 iTunes card and I want to by iMovie from the Mac App Store. (which brings my balance to $16.48) My problem is whenever I try to buy this product I'm sent to the billing page. I don't have a credit card so I select "none" and try to purchase iMovie again. But it just sends me back to the billing page. I don't want to buy another card in order to redeem something on the billing page so what do I do?

I�m a newbie here but been using Mac os x for about 10 years. My iBook 12" G4 1.33 has been crashing alot with the black screen saying "you need to restart your computer".or, more often "Welcome to Open Firmware, the system time and date is:.... When i type "mac-boot" it flashes once and goes to an all blue screen with a folder in the center with a question mark on it. One more detail: on the very top of the firmware screen it says: Illegal instruction at %SRR0: ff85e778 %SRR1: 0008 1000
This has been happening for over a year now and we usually get it to start by pressing random keys and even shaking the laptop!! We have learnt there is a real issue with the airport card in these ibook g4�s but mine is the type you can�t get to the airport card without taking the whole thing apart. So its still in there but we dont use it because it brings on these kernel panics, But they continue and are getting worse, I have reset the PRam 100�s of times thru the Open Firmware but nothing changes, Don�t know how to boot through the cd drive as there�s no prompts, everything is backed up, so not too scared but just want my lovely Mac back. I have the discs if anyone can tell me how to use them in this situation, or help in anyway I would be soooo grateful. The forums seem to have a fairbit about thi kind of thing but none of the responses work for us
well my computer has been crashing a lot recently (i noticed it seems to be mostly while safari and itunes are running at the same time but i have no idea if this is the cause of the problem or just a coincidence). I read one thing that told me to check my system logs, so i did and the only thing that i found weird that was around the time i crashed was this, but i have no idea what it means.

My fans are constantly going on my g4 powerbook and the noise drives me nuts. I do all sorts of work - graphics (CS2), music recording, multimedia... but even when I am just not doing anything intensive the fans are on.
The fans are at full speed now and the temp reads 37C / 98F. I've used an icurve since I got the machine.I've put up with this noisy sound for a couple years now. One person said I need to clean the air vents, like dust is causing the noise. Does anyone know about this?

I got a fairly new macbook 13, the last model before the firewire. I notice something very weird. The screen brightness changes. At first I thought I am imagining or maybe its like LCD's where color and brightness changes from one angle to the other but that is not the case...
If i come closer to the screen it takes a bit then it lowers the brightness, if I go further it does the opposite. If I adjust the screen it happens too, and I notice it happens a lot more if I am sitting in a darker room that a bright room.
I can almost swear the isight it doing some adjusting by its own calculating my distance from the screen. These are LEDs I believe. Any one heard of such a thing? What is this? Sometimes to happens while I am reading an article without moving.
