Mac Pro :: 2008 And Snow Leopards - Final Cut Pro 6 From FCS2 Work?

All of the following questions are in regards to Snow Leopard and my 2008 mac pro Octo.
1) Will Final Cut Pro 6 from FCS2 work? If so, any issues, and will I see a performance increase/decrease? (I have 8 cores dual ati 2600's)
2) Will Quicktime pro carry over when I install Snow Leopard? And Will it use all 8 cores?
3) Will Final Cut Pro 6 have an issue with the new quicktime?
4) Will visual hub, mpegstreamclip, or Handbreak be incompatible with snow leopard?
5) Will my final cut pro projects that I created in leopard, still work when I install snow leopard?
6) Will Word 2003 work with Snow Leopard?
I use my mac pro to make a living, should I risk installing Snow Leopard if Leopard works fine? Or do you think I should wait?

While many of the changes present in betas of Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard have been discussed at length by Apple followers, one tester has taken to the web with observations on some of the more subtle refinements spread through the most recent build of the next-gen operating system. AppleInsider reader inewton1974 pointed us to an annotated Flickr album of nearly four dozen Snow Leopard screenshots he published a bit earlier in the week. He begins by noting that the software's setup assistant will now warn users if they don't supply a password hint and claims that QuickLook capabilities have been built into universal Open and Save dialog windows.
Another interesting discovery is Apple's use of transition effects within the new Cocoa-based Finder. In particular, the Clean Up command for tidying Finder windows reportedly "slides" icons into place instead of shifting them abruptly. This is described as a "a neat visual effect," and several others similar to it are likely to follow. The Finder also present an slider control for resizing icons in the lower right-hand corner of windows displayed in icon mode, as can be seen in the first screenshot below. Additionally, it's noted that a QuickTime preference pane is absent from Snow Leopard, as are any preferences from within the QuickTime X Player itself, leading to renewed speculation that Apple may do away with its premium QuickTime Pro offering entirely. I have a 2008 black macbook with 10.7.2 installed (2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, 2 GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM). When I press caps lock, no green light turns on and letters remain in non-capital form. Even when I hold Caps lock for a few seconds, nothing happens. If I physically connect an apple keyboard via usb to my computer, caps lock doesn't work.

Just made an image slideshow in Final Cut.
Just a bunch of images and some audio.
When I export via File > Export > Quicktime Movie..., the cross dissolves between images disappear when I watch the movie in Quicktime.
When I export via File > Export > Using Quicktime Conversion... the color looks horrible in the Quicktime movie.

I know there is the option to turn off the transparency of the Leopard menu bar, but I want it to look just like the Tiger one (see below):

Word 2008 is driving me crazy. I'm writing a thesis, very basic, no strange graphics or whatever, but the damn thing crashes a lot of times. I have the latest updates and have done a few uninstall/install cycles + usual mac stuff (delete preferences, repair permissions) but to no avail. How does it work for you ? When I used the 2004 version it run much smoother. I could switch back, but while Office 2004 came from "unknown" sources I have a legal purchased copy of Office 2008 which I'd like to use.

Does icloud work with Entourage 2008 for Mac for email? Mac says it does but Microsoft says it does not support icloud in Entourage's email program, or in 2011 Office for Mac. I have the same impression for 20 years---Apple and MSFT refuse to communicate on anything impacting their customers and we suffer.

I have been having an issue with my display lately and think it might be because of my graphics card. The display shows a "tail" of whatever is on the screen. So if you are looking at an edge of a window, that window edge will trail off to the side, creating a sort of ghost image. So I tried disconnecting the monitor and I plugged it into the other slot. That seemed to fix the the "Tail" temporarily. But, it made certain portions of the screen blurry. There are literally blurry patches. So I tried switching the connection again, and it just moved the blurriness.
Also, this is my second ATI Radeon HD 2600! Could it be a graphics card issue and if so, should I switch to the Nvidia option?

I tried the "search" box before making this thread. Would like to know if the power supply from a 2008 MacPro work on a 2006 MacPro. If anyone has tried this? My 2006 MacPro shut down suddenly and would not turn on. I use an APC UPS plugged on a power surge outlet. The Mac technician who examined the unit suspected it might be the power supply but Apple may not have in stock the power supply for the Ist Gen MacPro.

problems with the EFI-Update for MBP, late 2008. It does not work at all, I've retried this several times and my Laptop just gets a grey Background, the bar at the top stays, I can move the mouse and click on the "apple" - but that's it. To get my Laptop back to life I had to hold the powerbutton and restart. The same happens now when I just want to shutdown my Laptop, grey background etc.

I just received a new MacBook Pro for Christmas (very excited) and I had the Apple Production Suite for my old PowerBook G4. I just got finished installing Final Cut Pro 4.5 on the new MacBook Pro and now it will not work. When I try to open the application a message pops up on the screen reading:
"Configuration error
This software requires certain hardware or software which is missing.
-AGP Graphics Card"
Now if I'm not mistaken the older version of Final Cut Pro is supposed to work with the new MacBook Pros even though their internals are different. If I'm wrong, then I have a bit of a problem. Have any of you had this problem or similar ones? I'm just wondering what I can do to fix it, I should also note that LiveType and Soundtrack are working fine, it's just Final Cut Pro.

Today I started my computer and launched FCPX, just like pretty much every day of the past 3 weeks. All of a sudden, I can't apply Cross Dissolves (or any other transition) to any clip. I constantly get this message:
I know that my clips need handles in order to make a transition work, and that is totally the case... in some cases, there are 3 minutes of footage before AND after the part that is in my timeline, so I don't see any reason for this message to appear. Also when I click on the "Create Transition" button, nothing happens.
This really grinds my gears and I have absolutely NO clue what could cause this problem. I googled for hours and reset pretty much everything there is to reset - without success.
I'm still on 10.1.2 because I'm editing a big project and I don't want to risk it being delayed/damaged by problems with the newest version.

I am looking for some guidance. Work were terribly nice to me last week and bought me a macbook pro 13". I have owned apple products for years and finally bent their ears. I am now becoming stuck though. In entourage I have set up my account through the LAN at my workplace, but when looking to update my emails at home over my wifi network, it wont connect. Also I would like to access my documents and root folders from my profile on the XP work network, without running Parrealells or bootcamp (as I dont want to install XP on this machine). I have a question regarding Microsoft power point. I have microsoft powerpoint 2007 on my PC, but sadly don't have the microsoft 2008 or iworks on my mac. I have a report I have to present so I have to do it on my PC. Problem is that they have MACs that have microsoft office 2008. Question is if i save a file on the MS PP 2007 for PC would it work on MS PP 2008 on a mac? Or would I have to save it as a 97-03 PP file that would be an extension of .ppt. I believe the extension for the 2007 PP is .pptx.

As you know, there are several Office versions. The Professional and Special Media boast Exchange server support, whereas Home and Student does not have it. I wonder, what is it all about? Are there any special files that one can copy and enable this support? I could not find anything specific to this issue on my computer. Moreover, no direct reply from Google searches.

just bought a copy of microsoft office 2008 for mac with 3 product keys, but i only have one mac, and 9 PC's. I am running Windows 7 on my Mac, and i wanted to know if i could download a free trial version of it from microsoft, then enter my mac product key for the full version. oh also i only own 2 PC's and 1 Mac that are my own computers. For several weeks, my black MacBook (2008) has been acting odd. Certain applications won't open, and when I attempt to open them, the computer makes a quiet clicking noise, like the drive is failing. Last week, when trying to boot it, the thing just wouldn't. Stuck on the grey Apple logo screen. Assuming a hard drive problem or failure, I ran the tests. I ran Disk Utility from the Snow Leopard install disk, checked & repaired permissions, checked & repaired disk. All okay. I ran the Apple Hardware Test from the install disk that came with the computer, using the test that runs for an hour or so, and all appears to be fine. The computer won't boot into safe mode. I've tried flashing the PRAM. I doubt I could achieve much through target disk mode, as I've already run Disk Utility. What's left to do? Something doesn't add up here.
