When I right click some links in Webkit / Safari I see an option to "Download with Speed Download". In the app itself though I see no options for contexual menu items. Can anyone direct my blind ass to where I can turn this off? I've "completely disabled the Safari plugin" but I'm not sure that's it.
View 2 RepliesI purchased OS X Lion this afternoon and started the download, 5 hours later it's only downloaded 1.5gb and it's saying it's got another 9 hours to go!!?? The App store is downloading at 105kb/s (that is Bytes per second, not Bits per second). If I download something from iTunes or dropbox I get about 800kb/s. Why is the App store so slow?

I've uninstalled appdelete as I now use cleanapp. Anyway, I have uninstalled it but the contextual menu is still present. I have tried looking at the services and libraries but cannot locate the specific item needed to be deleted to remove the appdelete contextual menu item.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI've got a real odd problem with safari 4. For some reason it is cutting my download speeds in about 1/2 from my server and many other places.
If I restart safari I will be able to download close to my 18 Mbps for a little bit but then it will just start to slow down and after about 30 minutes it will be down to about 6 - 8 Mbps.
Does anyone know what app this menu item belongs to?
View 3 Replies View RelatedA new menu bar item caught my eye a couple of days ago. Identical icon to the Eject button on the keyboard. upward pointing triangle with a line under it. Click on it and it says, greyed out, "SuperDrive F12". Is this Apple code or someone else's? Do I need it cluttering up the menu bar? Probably not. But how do I get rid of it? And even more important, how do I look for the unwanted code that may be doing unwanted routines in this Mac? Or is this thing totally benign? Anyone familiar with this one?

When downloading small files online they will download through Speed Download. Before I installed Speed Download it would just download through the regular downloading client. How do I change it back to using the regular one as standard? I use firefox btw

So far my research within general Web Search Engines (Google, Yahoo) and Software Repositories [URL]) with all possible permutations of my search terms "hard link hardlink contextual menu item cm" was without success.
I generally get about 700kbs download speed, which is what my ISP (Sky uk) tells me I SHOULD have, but they also tell me that my router upload speed should be similar and it's not anywhere close to it.

The iTunes download it over and over again but can't complete it. The other audios and videos can be downloaded properly.
I've changed a computer, but it ended the same. It seems to be an error with the iTunes store that the data is corrupted.
I stumbled on a website today informing me of ways to somewhat speed up Firefox and was wondering if anyone had any tips on how to speed up Safari, which is the browser I use much more frequently. Any tips would be most excellent.

my iTunes 10.6.1 on OS X 10.7.3 has been telling me 'you have 1 item awaiting download' for the last 3 or four days.but, when i select '1 iTunes download available' in download or 'download now' in iTunes account or Store/Check for Available Downloads, nothing downloads and the message remains.i've tried downloading a free tv episode to clear the count or reset the count. it says 2 downloads availabe and the free episode does indeed download. then the message goes back to 1 available.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have been trying to download different files from different sites and regardless of the browser I am using it will start downloading and stop at usually under 1meg and then stall and just keep adding the estimated download time. I have very fast internet connection so that isn't the problem and I can download files from emails etc, just seems to have problems with applications that I try and download from sites.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI think most people here know how to use Safari to download internet videos from sites such as YouTube. Simply go to Activity, find the appropriate file based on the file size. Double click it, and the FLV file would automatically be downloaded.
This also works for MP4 files, at least it used to before the last Safari update a few months back. Now, whenever I try to do the same operation on an MP4 file, it opens and plays the file within Safari itself instead of saving it. This is really frustrating! Does anyone know how to get around this ridiculous issue? I searched all over the web but it seems no one else is bothered by this.

In the attached screen shot you can see an item "Snag Path Unix" at the very bottom. I am sorry if i have posted this in the wrong topic, i'm not sure where this would go. I am trying to download a file off the internet, but my download speed is only 12 kb/s on average (Sometimes it will go up to 13 and sometimes down to 9). I have every application that could be using internet turned off and still no help. I have also set my utorrent to unlimited download speed but it still stays on 12! I have a good router so i don't think thats the problem. What am i doing wrong? Is there a program i can use to speed it up?
