View 2 RepliesI've uninstalled appdelete as I now use cleanapp. Anyway, I have uninstalled it but the contextual menu is still present. I have tried looking at the services and libraries but cannot locate the specific item needed to be deleted to remove the appdelete contextual menu item.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI can resize columns in list view and drag them to the order that I want, but that only lasts until I close the window. If I open that folder again in (list view is the default), the column widths and arrangement return to their original configuration. How to make changes in individual folder windows and make them permanent?

Does anyone know what app this menu item belongs to?
View 3 Replies View RelatedA new menu bar item caught my eye a couple of days ago. Identical icon to the Eject button on the keyboard. upward pointing triangle with a line under it. Click on it and it says, greyed out, "SuperDrive F12". Is this Apple code or someone else's? Do I need it cluttering up the menu bar? Probably not. But how do I get rid of it? And even more important, how do I look for the unwanted code that may be doing unwanted routines in this Mac? Or is this thing totally benign? Anyone familiar with this one?

my "services" menu has disappeared as an option in finder. When I try to access it by right-clicking a finder item (folder or file), it's just plain missing. However if I look for it under the finder menu bar, the arrow beside service says 'building'. But I've been waiting for hours and it doesn't look like anything's happening.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I right click some links in Webkit / Safari I see an option to "Download with Speed Download". In the app itself though I see no options for contexual menu items. Can anyone direct my blind ass to where I can turn this off? I've "completely disabled the Safari plugin" but I'm not sure that's it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am looking for a contextual menu item for Mac OS X, which allows me to create hardlink(s) for the currently selected file(s) either "here" (at the current directory) or "elsewhere" (filebrowser follows for selecting a target directory).
So far my research within general Web Search Engines (Google, Yahoo) and Software Repositories [URL]) with all possible permutations of my search terms "hard link hardlink contextual menu item cm" was without success.
I've created subfolder bookmarks in Safari and see how you can place bookmarks on the Bookmarks Bar. But what is the "Bookmarks Menu" folder in Safari? It's just below the Bookmarks Bar when you see all your bookmarks? What do you use this Menu for?
View 3 Replies View RelatedFirefox does not display bookmarks in the menu. I does not unless I open manage bookmarks. Here are 2 images explaining it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI am having trouble with Bookmarks. In the Folders I have numerous bookmarks under each Folder. I want to be able to display these bookmarks as a drop down menu under the Folder name. That would allow me to quickly access the bookmark I want. But when I click on the Folder name I do not get a drop down menu. Instead, the bookmarks are displayed as pages on the right hand side of the screen, and I have to scroll through all of them to get to the one I want. I am sure there is a simple way to correct this but I have not ben able to find it.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm running Safari 5.1.3 on imac on 10.7.3. I just synced my ipad to computer. On my bookmarks bar on the ipad I had only 2 bookmarks. On the computer I had a whole bunch. Same with bookmarks menu. After the sync, on my computer, it had deleted all the bookmarks on my bookmarks bar, and only left me the 2 that were on the ipad. Same with bookmarks menu. Seems to have affected bookmarks bar and menu only. Rest of bookmarks are OK. I have an external backup drive and backed up a week ago. But, have never had to restore anything. What's the procedure to restore the bookmarks bar and menu in Safari, using time machine?

Safari 5.1.7 under OS X 10.7.4 simply refuses to let me rearrange folders within the Bookmarks Menu. I use Bookmarks > Show All Bookmarks and select Bookmarks Menu in the sidear. If I now drag and drop a folder within that menu, it just pops right back to where it was before. I've tried all the methods I know:Â
(1) Drag com.apple.Safari.plist out of ~/Library/Preferences and restart Safari. Same problem.Â
(2) Use the app SafariSort [URL], which alphabetizes all the folders and their contents. But as soon as I now try to drag-and-drop a folder or a bookmark, the order of everything reverts to the original (unwanted) order. exactly, does Safari store the list of Bookmark Menu folders? I examined com.apple.Safari.plist in both the XCode plist editor and in a plain text editor, but I don't see them there. (And actually it's obvious that the bookmarks cannot be there, since after I remove com.apple.Safari.plist and restart Safari, the bookmarks are back; where were they)

I'm struggling with my Safari bookmarks in OS X Lion.Since upgrading to Lion and activating iCloud for bookmark sync, when I add a new bookmark or bookmark folder, it doesn't show in the bookmark menu. if I open show all bookmarks it is there in the 'Bookmarks' part of the tree, but they are not showing through in the Bookmarks menu part. I think that the problem is that iCloud is interfering, because they do show up on my iOS devices. It seems to me that iCloud is putting all new bookmarks in the portion of the database which relates to iOS/iCloud and is not keeping these in sync with the ones on my local mac.At the moment I have to remeber to open two windows, both open at the Show All Bookmarks page and manually copy the new iOS-friendly bookmarks into the local menu so that they appear there in the futiure, which is a pain to put it mildly.

After performing a Time Machine restoration, the "Places" list in the Finder sidebar contains a folder icon that can not be selected or deleted. It does not appear on the list of places to show in Finder Preferences, so there is nothing to uncheck. How do I get rid of this erroneous icon?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI was recently looking at an Automator example and found that I do not have a 'More' finder contextual menu. My contextual menu has the following instead: Also, the Automator tutorial describes the ability to save a workflow as a Finder plug-in and I do not have that option in Automator. I am on OS X 10.6.2.

When I select a finder window the Menu Options are not showing in the top menu bar. I am getting the menu options from the last selected window.
It would be very useful if you could customise the contents of the "Go" menu found throughout the Finder. The possibility of adding apps/utilities or folders (with keyboard shortcuts) would be brilliant! Is there any way of doing so?

Is it possible to move an item from the "More" section of the Contextual Menu up to the main section? In the attached screen shot you can see an item "Snag Path Unix" at the very bottom. I use this function about 100 times a day and it is very inconvenient that I have to go through a submenu for that.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am running OS X 10.5. Suddenly today, everything on the screen magnified by about 10 or 15%. When I move the mouse, everything on the screen shifts as the mouse moves, so that I can end up seeing everything on the screen as if through a window. If I move the mouse down, the menu bar at the top of the screen disappears. With difficulty, I can still use the computer but obviously this is an unusable configuration. I have no idea what caused this and I don't have any idea how to fix it. After trying a number of things, I did a Clean Install (Archive and Install) of the OS but this did not help. The phenomenon occurs whether I am in an application or in Finder. Help!
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just went to open an image in the Finder with the "Open With" option. I noticed that there are several versions of most of the applications that can open an image. Most are the older versions of the applications. Does anyone know how to edit this list so only the current version of each application is shown? I have attached the menu listing so you can see what I mean by duplicates.

So I found an Automator script that let me compress in the Rar format. I created the correct folders (~/Library/Workflows/Applications/Finder/) and went to see if I could compress just some folders but I have no "More.." contextual menu entry. In Leopard I had it. How am I supposed to use Automator workflows now? Am I alone in not having this entry? I have the 10.6.1 update installed.
