for some reason I can not download anything from safari. I have v3.0.2 and have downloaded apps before, but for some reason it comes up with a message saying 'can not create file'. any ideas?
View 4 RepliesI've got a real odd problem with safari 4. For some reason it is cutting my download speeds in about 1/2 from my server and many other places.
If I restart safari I will be able to download close to my 18 Mbps for a little bit but then it will just start to slow down and after about 30 minutes it will be down to about 6 - 8 Mbps.
How do I download a PDF rather than viewing it in Safari?Â

I am unable to open PDF files. All I get is a blank black screen. I now download PDFs into my computer from the internet (with mixed success), which is several steps more than has ever taken me in the past. Since finding this problem I have updated the Adobe Reader and run system updates today, to no avail. Adobe reports that there is a compatibility issue between Safari 5.1 and Adobe Reader. They offer several solutions none of which has worked for me. [URL]. Is updating Safari going to work for me, or are there other solutions?

tried to from apple's site a million times, on safari and firefox, not working.
it says error and I have to go to the activity window to see the issue.
Say you want to download a YouTube video.
Open the page. Then hit option-command-A.
This brings up the activity window. Navigate to the desired page in the window. The video should be somewhere in the mb range, usually 5+ mb. Double-click on it. Download will begin.
If it's tough to spot, reload the page and quickly open the activity window. You might catch it in the middle of loading, making it easier to spot.

On my MAC Safari is crashing every time I try opening a file I've received vie email (Gmail or Hotmail) whether photo, pdf, word anything really, I click on it and a few seconds later safari shuts down and I get the "safari has quit unexpectedly" message.Its also crashing As soon as I try downloading Google chrome (the moment I click download).I've tried resetting safari, and even choosing the older version on the drop down menu in preferences but that made no difference.

They both go to a blackscreen for under the tabs, but load the progress bar/url bar. Additionally, the problem is similar in Firefox, which leads me to believe that this may be a OSX issue, not a safari issue. Please help, this is incredibally annoying for someone who plays a large quantity of flash games, uses youtube, et cetera.

After weeks of trying to download Flash player to Safari, I removed the program using AppZapper and downloaded a new Safari which behaved beautifully. What puzzles me is that when I opened this new Safari, it contained all my favorites and Bookmark bar bookmarks. Is there a ghost in the system or did AppZapper miss something?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a mac mini with 10.5.6 leopard installed connected thru hdmi cable I believe it's called to my samsung LCD display.
Now the problem is when 10.5.7 was introduced I suffered display resoultion problems like some other people too who have the mac mini. I spoke to apple who said they were aware of the issue and for me to do a archive and install to go back to 10.5.6. Which I did. They told me that they will send the info to apple engineers in the USA so they can work on a fix. This was all discussed when 10.5.7 was released. Now that new safari has been launched safari4. I am unable to download this as it asks me to install 10.5.7. I spoke to apple last night who said they still don't have any updates on this issue yet. They said they will try look into this and get back to me. In the mean time I an stuck with current version of safari I have and a less secure 105.6 OS. As I believe 10.5.7. Improves security on my system.
Is anyone else having this problem? i go to download a program or file and it just takes me to a blank page. I can download fine with any other browser, i.e. Firefox, Camino, Shiira.

In Windows, I used to copy the Bing wallpaper images that I thought were especially pretty, using the standard right click and copy. Ended up with jpegs. But I can't figure it out in Safari. Checked into Bing wallpaper downloaders, but don't find anything for Mac platform. I'm happy to do it manually, or with some type of automatic downloader.

In any case, about twice when I was browsing from the proxy site, a file named "About-Blank" (not exe, don't know what they where) was downloaded to my "Downloads" folder. Since I upgraded to Lion 10.7.3, the method I was using to download videos, from YouTube and other internet sites, no longer works. This method (with Snow Leopard) involved going to the Window menu, clicking on Activity, and finding the video file in a list, and double clicking it. Usually the video would still be downloading and would be a certain number of MB in a long list of files of various KB sizes.Now, there is no downloadable file listed (in Activity) for the video I'm watching. Is there a way to download the video without purchasing additional software?

The wife accidentally deleted Safari and Quicktime from our iMac but Apple.com only offers these programs for Snow Leopard and Lion. How can I get these programs back? Is there maybe a third party? Can I use either of the DVD's that came with the Mac? If so, how can I choose to only install said programs without necessarily reinstalling all of the OS X and risk losing picture and movie files?
