I'm a fairly new user of Macs and iWork Pages. I have an assignment for a college class I'm taking in which we have to put web links within text or sentences of an article. I'm having trouble figuring it out
View 3 RepliesI'm looking for an Mac app that can be used to store and index/tag small electronic documents (like invoices,...), hyperlinks, text,....Basically it should be able to store non-relational information that can than be tagged and searched for easy retrieval later.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI am running SL and the Gmail Notifier for Mac, and Firefox. Every time I click an email link in Firefox, instead of opening up a "compose mail" page in Gmail like it used to, recently I just get sent to an old-style HTML only Gmail page, as pictured below.
Anyone else experiencing this? it's getting pretty annoying that any time I click an email, I get sent to a useless Gmail page. I've tried googling the problem, but it never turns up results that are relevant.
I am running MAC OSX 10.6.3 and are having the following issues
About a Week ago I noticed I was having issues on certain web pages with opening links within the page. Example: A webpage im having a lot of errors on is Gunbroker.com If I click "add to my watch list" safari just sits there and does not open the page. Same for Firefox. Other links on the page work fine. I tried this site and others on my other macbook and it works just fine. Random links within webpages seem not to work.
I have tried to reset safari, clear caches, verify permissions and fix errors on Disk Utility still no fix. I also reinstalled firefox just not safari because of my favorites.
Any Ideas? If this has already been discussed please let me know I will try to find a thread. I did do a search but could not really find much pertaining to this issue.
I visited a couple of movie streaming sites and now whenever I visit any website, clicking on links etc opens up spam pages. I have cleared the cache and pop ups are blocked but it keeps happening. Â

Something I've done in the past few days has caused Safari to not change color for visited links "only" on Google search pages, which is where it's most needed. This is still working fine on FireFox. I tried creating another user account and it works fine with that. Just not with my primary account. I've done all the typical things. repaired permissions, repaired disk, completely reset Safari to default and made sure all caches, etc. were cleaned out. Both manually and with Onyx, reset associated .plist files, history, cookies, private browsing. Returning to a Google search page still shows all visited links as blue, as if they'd never been visited.
Another clue is if I log out of my Google account (which I have to be logged into 24/7 for Gmail, Google bookmarks, iGoogle, etc., it starts working, then stops working as soon as I log into my Google account again. I posted this on Google Groups but got no response. This also works fine on my wife's Mac, so it's definitely a problem just in my user account. I know I could just add a new account and use that, but it would mean re-installing all 70 applications I have now installed as they're not setup for use except with my account. I'd like to avoid that and find the actual culprit. BTW, this worked fine for a long time. Just quit working about a week ago, but it wasn't in conjunction with any new hardware or software.

I believe the mouse pad is hypersensitive, but it also will click on items when nothing is near the laptop. Eg. I'm no where near it and it will play/pause/change the song in itunes.

Printing everything out isn't really an alternative and time-consuming as well. With Skim I can highlight selected text areas and make annotations. Unfortunately, I can't switch efficiently between highlight colors and the saved changes are only legible with this specific app.

I need to duplicate this page 11 times so that I can have an individual fill the stuff in and I can print them all out.
I can't find out how to do this as the tabs involving thumbnails of the pages only allow me to copy all of that pages and not just the graph one.
I'm using Pages 08 and for some reason its just started no showing any text. I've started a new blank document from template chooser and everytime I type anything in a text box I have to highlight it so I can see it. It then comes up in purple but only when highlighted. The same happens with images. I'm running 10.6.2 on a brand new LED iMac 21.5".

I'm in the middle of revision for exams and I'd like to be able to highlight certain portions of text in pages documents. Bold won't do, nor underline (they already have purposes). Can I highlight in Pages (say set a yellow text backgrond as I don't want to do print runs on my notes until I have to (and have reduced them down as much as possible).
Any Way to make it so. I really need to know.

View 3 Replies View RelatedThe text color in iWorks Pages (08) seems to be inverted. Though the text colour is set to black all the text appears white. I couldn't find any way to change this "setting" so the colour appears normal again.
View 7 Replies View RelatedCurrently I'm trying to look up something in the SVN book on line, and it's all Greek characters. If I view page source, the characters are displayed in the proper font. Google searches show several others having this problem, but no one had a solution. Someone posted a solution here, but it was redacted for some reason and the only part that makes sense is that I should but a product called Suitcase Fusion. I refuse to pay money to make my Mac stop displaying characters in Greek font at random. In some circles that can be considered extortion.

Thing is, I can view the document using QuickLook, no problem. Any way I can recover the text? (Tried TextEdit, Text Wrangler & BBedit, no joy). Why doesn't Pages keep backup / Autosave files?

Is there any way to do this using OpenOffice or NeoOffice? The text file is currently in RTF (TextEdit) form, so I can easily convert it to .doc or PDF. Formatting should be maintained, but it's nothing too complex; just some boldface and centering. I'm looking to make cue slides out of the lines of a play. I have all the lines, and I can re-paginate it easily enough, but I'm at a loss as to how to make slides out of it. I don't have the time/patience to manually create hundreds of slides and paste in each line one by one.

Occasionally when I am composing a message in Mail (Version 4.3), I accidentally hit a key that deletes a whole sentence. Is there a way I can retrieve this sentence or do I have to start over? In my old Outlook Express on my Dell pc, I could arrow back to find anything that accidentally deleted while composing.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have one line of text. I want to align the first part of this line to the left, and the second part to the right. How do I do this in iWork Pages?
In MS Word, I would simply select the last part of the line and click the "align to right" button. But when I do this in Pages, it aligns the ENTIRE line to the right.
just a short question: Can anybody tell me a program/way to export my PAGES document to a PDF with all the used fonts and graphics embedded? I want that it looks exactely the same on e.g. a Windows computer on which the used fonts aren't installed. Unfortunately, even the Word exporting fuction of Pages doesn't seem very reliable - or do I do something wrong? I sometimes even lose bold/italic format etc. Very strange ... Anyway, I need a way to send somebody this text either as a Word or PDF file which won't make problems and look the same.

Messages that I see on my phone are not up to date on my iMac.We pages are showing up as script, no content, no pictures. Facebook shows up with no pictures.Memory isn't an issue and I've checked the internet connection and mail settings. I am also up to date with apple updates.
