Oct 29, 2010I got a new imac about three weeks ago, and I can't understand why safari randomly will display the wrong pages for the site i want to go. I'm on one site then after clicking on a line it will load up another page i may have visited before or at the same time in another tab. Example i'm trying to access a clothing store and its showing me an ebay error, i get random errors trying to go to youtube, i try going to wikipedia and it loads cragslist. Is it malware?

There are about 3-4 other computers on the same wireless network that have no problem loading the same sites I can't load on my MBP, running 10.6.4 Any ideas? Jun 26, 2009I repaired permissions and this message is still appearing. I have reset Safari and I can't get it to go away. What is this message? It is a yellow triangle with an exclamation mark inside saying Google Safe Browsing is not available at this time. No updates for 1 day.

Aug 11, 2010When I open up Safari, and go to Preferences > Security , underneath the fraudulent sites check box is this message: "The Google safe browsing service is unavailable. No updates have occurred in 3 days."
The other day I unchecked that option, closed safari, relaunched it, rechecked it, played a little with ticking that box and eventually the message was gone. But not this time Has anyone found an automatic procedure to make this message go away?
Safari :: 5.1.2 Keeps Changing Text Field Randomly On Text Input
Feb 21, 2012Safari keeps changing the text field on input, do you know how to correct this issue?Â
Here is an example:
Let's say I load www.google.com, it appears in the safari window as usual.
Suppose I begin to type a search in the google search field at the top right of the safari window (not the one on the google page)
if when doing this the sentence is long for the search, at some point randomly, the rest of the text will be entered this time in the google search text field on the google page! (which is the very next text field) So when I hit enter it makes google search half of my request...
Safari changed the text field I was into with no warning. I want to say I do not press tab at any moment. This is annoying really, and this does not appear anywhere else than in Safari. It seems the issue is not systematic, but appears quite often.
I have no universal access setting except "enable access for assistive device" I had to check this box upon installing a software in the past but I can't remember what it was.Â
Applications :: Pages 08 - Cannot See Text?
Nov 19, 2009I'm using Pages 08 and for some reason its just started no showing any text. I've started a new blank document from template chooser and everytime I type anything in a text box I have to highlight it so I can see it. It then comes up in purple but only when highlighted. The same happens with images. I'm running 10.6.2 on a brand new LED iMac 21.5".

Mar 31, 2008i have a early 2008 octo mac pro, with it im using a philips 220ws, the problem i'm having is that scrolling a page be it safari, firefox or a pages doc. it seems to jutter along and doesnt move as smooth as my mac book,and when typing into either msn messenger, pages or even text edit letters seem to lag behind what im typing, ok it may only be for a secon and about 2 letters behind burt it gets annoying worse when back spacing. does anyone else have the problem or possible fix? im not using anything more than than the word processor, safari and msn at a time

Dec 18, 2008Currently I'm trying to look up something in the SVN book on line, and it's all Greek characters. If I view page source, the characters are displayed in the proper font. Google searches show several others having this problem, but no one had a solution. Someone posted a solution here, but it was redacted for some reason and the only part that makes sense is that I should but a product called Suitcase Fusion. I refuse to pay money to make my Mac stop displaying characters in Greek font at random. In some circles that can be considered extortion.

Nov 5, 2008I have a large text file, and I'd like to turn each page of the text file into a slide in a presentation (PowerPoint, I guess, though I'm open to alternatives as long as they're cross-platform and idiot-proof). Is there any way to do this using OpenOffice or NeoOffice? The text file is currently in RTF (TextEdit) form, so I can easily convert it to .doc or PDF. Formatting should be maintained, but it's nothing too complex; just some boldface and centering. I'm looking to make cue slides out of the lines of a play. I have all the lines, and I can re-paginate it easily enough, but I'm at a loss as to how to make slides out of it. I don't have the time/patience to manually create hundreds of slides and paste in each line one by one.

Dec 23, 2008I have one line of text. I want to align the first part of this line to the left, and the second part to the right. How do I do this in iWork Pages?
In MS Word, I would simply select the last part of the line and click the "align to right" button. But when I do this in Pages, it aligns the ENTIRE line to the right.

Jan 19, 2009just a short question: Can anybody tell me a program/way to export my PAGES document to a PDF with all the used fonts and graphics embedded? I want that it looks exactely the same on e.g. a Windows computer on which the used fonts aren't installed. Unfortunately, even the Word exporting fuction of Pages doesn't seem very reliable - or do I do something wrong? I sometimes even lose bold/italic format etc. Very strange ... Anyway, I need a way to send somebody this text either as a Word or PDF file which won't make problems and look the same.

Messages that I see on my phone are not up to date on my iMac.We pages are showing up as script, no content, no pictures.
