Whenever I move the mouse near the top left of a open window, it minimizes. It seemed to only happen recently as well. Any way to turn off this function?
View 3 RepliesI'm using my old gaming mouse (Logitech MX518) and when I push one of the bottons above the thumb area (MOUSE 5 I believe) it does the minimization to where it shows all the pages open on the computer and all programs running.. I've gone in the mouse settings and I still cant fix it. Any help?

But the thing is, that i was used to - in Windows, that i could browse forward and backwards with the 2 buttons placed close to my thumb on the mouse, instead of the browser/applications forward and backwards buttons..
Is there a way to do so in OS X? I've looked in Preferences, but i did'nt really find anything useful..
the whole purpose for purchasing the Mighty Mouse was that it worked so well with the Mac and made everything so natural.
the new mouse seems to remove this extremely useful feature.
Can anyone tell me if there is some multi-touch capability in the new mouse that interfaces with Expose.
If not, then this mouse is worthless until Apple puts the feature back in - buttons on the side again or not.
If you use the new mouse, you cannot use expose without having to reach over your keyboard.
I can't seem to find a way to continue to sync my iPod Touch to my Mac without it automatically syncing over the iPod's Safari bookmarks to my Safari on the computer. I want to keep this bookmarks separate but every time it still wants to sync the Safari data on the iPod to the Safari data on the Mac.

View 2 Replies View RelatedEver since I updated to Yosemite I've noticed a strange behavior with the Messages window. If the Messages window is partially obscured behind another window and I click in the Messages window title bar area, the window comes to the front but it's in some sort of "move pending" mode. The next location I click is where the window is moved to. Is this a new "feature" of Yosemite? I may have turned on some preference without realizing it. Seems to only do it with the Messages window.

firstly, i have recently got a new apple keyboard and the function keys on it have got messed up. it has the logos for things like pause, volume and brightness, but when i click them, they dont do what they say on the key. secondly, i have also recently got a magic mouse and you are meant to be able to swipe to scroll and thing like that, but that doesnt work either.

I just got a used iMac (running 10.5.8) with the metal keyboard and mouse. I unpacked the box, plugged in the computer, hooked up the keyboard and mouse.The computer screen came up. I can move around a little via the keyboard's arrow keys but the cursor will not move via the mouse. I got it to move a little by swiping my thumb across the back but that is it. I switched my older, working, keyboard and mouse to the newer machine and it didn't work there. I switched the newer metal keyboard and mouse my older iMac and they worked just fine. What could be going on with the new (but used) computer? I have tried every port for the mouse, keyboard as well as every back port but nothing moves the cursor.

On restart the mouse moves but does not click. I thought it was the mouse and bought new one. After 24 hours same issue with the new mouse. Bought a new Apple Mouse yesterday and this morning same issue again. Usually after a wait the clicking becomes available.

This problem is quite difficult to explain and it was hard to think of any terms that I could use for a search.
If I want the cursor to move a certain distance on the screen, I can either do that by moving the mouse fast or by doing it slowly.
If I do it rather slowly, the way my mouse has to make on the desk is much longer than if I moved it fast.
Example: I want to move the cursor from the left edge of the screen to the right. If I do it in a very quick movement, I only have to move the mouse for, like, 5 centimeters.
However, if I do it in a really slow sweep, the same distance on the screen takes up to more than 50 centimeters with the mouse.
By the way, the trackpad obviously does the same thing, as does the mouse wheel. I want the cursor to move the distances independently from how fast I move the mouse.
My hardware is a brand-new macbook and a USB Logitech optical pilot wheel mouse. I previously used the latter on my PC, where this problem never occurred.
I also tried a different mouse on the mac and the problem was the same.
My macbook pro started acting funny yesterday. The mouse became unresponsive, then started moving by itself, closing windows, and creating new folders on my desktop. I have a new iMac with mouse. Every time I move my mouse quickly left or right (i.e. if I am just moving it out of the way of my keyboard), the action causes the screen to close down so that I have to re-enter my password to get back to the pages I had open.
