Ok, My roomate just got an apple keyboard to use with his blackbook. Its the new bluetooth aluminum one, without the numberpad. When connected to his computer, it acts like a mouse.... The "i" key clicks, i think it was 'G' moves the cursor, and will no type at all. The 'F' keys work, volume up, down, play pause.... those work. It will even eject, but will not type.
The funny thing? It works fine with my aluminum macbook....Both are 10.5.6
Every once in a while the mouse pad will stop working. A wireless mouse will work in its place. The keyboard will also act extremely slow during this time. It seems like the buffer is full and it moves on to the next letter i type without using the previously typed letter.

I'm using the thin aluminum USB external keyboard and suddenly my 8ik, diagonal of keys stopped working (now I'm using my laptop keyboard). Anyone know if this is typically a sign of a broken keyboard, or a user issue?

I have a Bamboo tablet and a wireless mighty mouse. The mouse worked for little while but then just stopped working. It still moves but I cant click on some things and it doesnt change the pointer when i go over text for example. Any one know why?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI know that the general consensus here is that the Mighty Mouse is a piece of shit. That notwithstanding, I'd appreciate posters refraining from engaging in further elaborations on that concept when replying to this topic (i.e., no comments like "Buy a new mouse," please).
At any rate, I purchased a wireless Mighty Mouse about a month ago and was very happy with it until the batteries apparently died. One day the pointer simply stopped responding and the green light on the bottom of the mouse was flashing. I replaced the batteries and the mouse resumed normal operation. Then, a few days later it happened again. I have yet to re-replace the batteries and have reverted to using my now eight-year-old Logitech dual-optical mouse (possibly the finest peripheral I have ever owned). Has anyone else encountered this issue?
Is this mouse having internal hardware or software issues or is it normal for it to devour batteries at this rate? System Preferences says that Bluetooth is maintaining the connection properly, so I am ruling that out as an issue. I would just say to hell with it, and use my Logitech mouse full-time, but my wife hates it and I payed seventy goddamn dollars for the Apple product.
I just bought a MacBook Pro about a week ago, and installed WinXP SP2 through Boot Camp. Everything has worked fine up until this morning when my BT mouse suddenly stopped working on both Mac OS X and Windows.
I fixed the problem on the Mac OS X by trashing a preference file, and the mouse now works perfectly.
It still does not work on Windows, though. When I try to install it, it locates the mouse, connects, but the system tray displays the following message: "A problem occured during hardware installation. Your hardware might not work properly".
I have a feeling it is a software problem. I tried reinstalling the Boot Camp software, but it didn't work.
Last night I had to do a forced shutdown of my PowerMac, and when I booted it this morning, myLogitech wireless set was no longer recognizedby the system. So far I've rebooted (a fwe times) with the receiver plugged directly into the tower, and uninstalled / reinstalled the Logitech "control center" software.
View 1 Replies View Relatedfirstly, i have recently got a new apple keyboard and the function keys on it have got messed up. it has the logos for things like pause, volume and brightness, but when i click them, they dont do what they say on the key. secondly, i have also recently got a magic mouse and you are meant to be able to swipe to scroll and thing like that, but that doesnt work either.

View 2 Replies View Relatedso i installed windows 7 on bootcamp, i noticed that the keyboard backlight keys to adjust the keyboard backlight arent working. then i switched over to the mac os, and it also stopped working there!
whenever i press the keys, the transparent box shows up but the bars do not move, it is currently off, and it also has that crossed out circle symbol.
When I scroll down, I get no response. Everything else is fine. The clicking sound has also stopped when scrolling down, and I guess this is the reason why it's not working.

I've got an iMac with a Magic Mouse which was working perfectly, but which now refuses to recognise the two-fingered swipe to navigate in any program. I've tried disabling and re-enabling the gesture, rebooted etc.
I have a problem with my magic mouse (imac 27'' C2D) because the 2-fingers swipe feature has stopped working. What can I do now ? Can I reinstall the mouse software ?
My OS X version is 10.6.2.
I remember reading that there was a way to fix this. My mouse has totally stopped scrolling. Any help would be great.
So my friend was using his MacBook and went to do something else. He came back and the screen was black, he hit space and nothing, tried the trackpad and nothing. He restarted by holding the Power button, and it go to the log-in screen, but he can't type anything, or use the trackpad. He has tired restarting several times and no luck. He also tried an external Keyboard/Mouse and that didn't work.
He did plug in a Flash drive and the light turned on, so the USB ports are at least getting power, but nothing is working.
I have an old AGP graphics G4 power mac. Keyboard and mouse are not working and I get no signal to the monitor. Is my logic board fried, or could it be something else?

I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for good mouse pads/anything similar to a mouse pads function. I would prefer something that fits well with the Magic Mouse and Alu Keyboard.
View 24 Replies View RelatedThe last few days my keyboard and mouse have stopped functioning at random times on my macbook. I am running snow leopard. I have to shut the lid to put it to sleep and wake it up to get it to respond.
View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen I wake from sleep, my mouse cursor is a beachball that is NOT spinning. I can use my mouse like normal, move it, and click on things, but its still a beachball. I beleive it stays like this until the mouse is actually supposed to be a beachball (when I open a few programs at the same time and the computer starts "thinking"), then it starts spinning and after that it goes back to the normal black arror cursor.
Might be a problem from the 10.5.3 update? anyone else experience this?
last night my imac semi froze on me. it's weird because I can still use my BT keyboard and mouse but when i try to click on anything it doesn't work. now the dashboard and expose functions work as well as do keyboard shortcuts but when i try to click on any icon nothing responds. it's like everything on the computer seems to be working except for clicking.
View 6 Replies View RelatedThe apple keyboard and mouse have stopped working altogether on my powerbook. They were working just minutes ago. Restart did nothing. Ideas?
Both USB slots are working.
I have a 27" imac and I've installed windows 7 64-bit using boot camp. Everything works except the wireless keyboard and mouse, which work for about 20 seconds after starting up and then stop. The bluetooth control panel says they're still connected, but they aren't working, so I'm forced to connect an old wired kb/mouse.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI've had my imac for over a year and a half now with no troubles. But, the last couple of weeks my wireless keyboard has not been working. A message pops up saying that the connection has been lost. Then, the wired mouse moves around....but won't select or highlight anything...the 'click' doesn't work. Then all of a sudden everything goes back to normal.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI just upgraded to Lion, on a MacMini, and now everytime I use sleep mode, I can't wake my lion up again because key presses or mouse clicks don't work anymore. I can still move the pointer, but OS does not respond anymore to mouse clicks or keyboard. Have to power down, then start up again. Keyboard & mouse then work until the next time the lion sleeps.
This is quite annoying, as I'm an intermittent style of user who relies on sleep mode a lot.
Lion is nice when it works, but it has introduced problems I've never had before. And booting into Lion is way slower than Leopard or Snow Leopard were. At least double the time, or more.
Should mention I'm also using a Logitech denovo wireless keyboard and a Logitech M570 wireless trackball.
Connecting a standard USB keyboard and/or mouse, once the lion has gone to sleep, does not solve anything. The OS still does not respond.

For three weeks now, the windows on my desktop turn blue and separate when I click on a link or open another window. I had the hard drive replaced; Apple diagnostic found nothing. Accidentally discovered it happened when I used my mouse. Scroll only worked forwards, not back or to the side. Replaced mouse with new, identical model. Still happens. Then I used an old mouse from 2003, no scroll wheel, but it seems to work fine.
