I am on Mavericks 10.9.3 (brand new MB Air 13.3). I configured Mail with my IMAP accounts and it is able to send and receive mail. The problem is that the sound stops working after a while. When I sleep and wake the computer, at some point, it no longer makes the whoosh when sending a message. None of the other sounds work either. I have updated everything very recently.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a 21.5' iMac (Mid 2011) and a 27' iMac (late 2012) that I would love be able to use Target Display Mode. Unfortunately I have tried everything I could think of to get it to work. Here is a list of things that I have tried but have been unsuccessful at enable TDM:Â
1.) Completely restored Mac OS X 10.9.5 on the 21.5' iMac. Setting this machine up as new since it will be my external display.
2.) No firmware password enabled
3.) Reset PRAM on both machines
4.) Connected an Apple Keyboard w/ numeric keypad to the 21.5' iMac.
5.) Pressed CMD+F2 to enable TDM (no luck)
6.) Tried to enable 27' iMac as external display Â
Repeated same process with an 13in Macbook Air (Mid 2011) and got the same result. TDM will not work.Â
So I did some extra troubleshooting to try to target why TDM won't work.
I put my 21.5' iMac in target disk mode and connected it via thunderbolt with my 27' iMac but it doesn't see the 21.5' iMac while in target disk mode. I also tried the same process with my 13' MBA and I don't see the 21.5' iMac while in target disk mode.

I have been using a Wacom Bamboo for a while now and always have it in Mouse mode.
Since I upgraded my iMac to SnowLeopard, the Bamboo Pen/Mouse mode always resets back to Pen Mode after I have booted my iMac which is verrrry annoying - especially since I have a dual-monitor setup!
I have already tried to install the latest drivers for the Bamboo but this has not resolved my problem.
Has anyone else seen this problem and possibly know how to solve it?
I was using my Macbook Pro, finished, put it to sleep and left for a few hours. When I came back it was off. I try to turn it on and the power light comes on and I can hear the disk for about 3 second and then it just shuts off again. I searched the apple support site for this problem and I've done these things. [URL]. I play computer games on it and often the battery would drain. I would plug it in when the 10 minute warning came up, and the little light on the MagSafe plug would turn from green to amber. Lately it had been turning back to green even though the battery icon on the screen said the battery wasn't charged, sometimes the computer would even shut down even though it was plugged in (again, it was plugged in and the light was green, even though the battery icon said it wasn't charged). Maybe it's related to my computer not turning on?

I have a Photoshop plugin that only runs in 32-bit mode. So when I upgraded to CS6 I've kept CS5 and launch it in 32-bit mode when I want to use the plugin (CS6 doesn't run in 32-bit mode). Will I be able to run CS5 this way when OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion is released?

View 7 Replies View Relatedso i've been having an issue with the double tap to hi-light any text i wish to copy. Such things as double tapping the URL bar to hi-light the whole url so i can just retype w/e site i want to go to. Every time i restart or turn off or my mbp goes to sleep and i reopen it, the double tap function resets. So i'm forced to go to the system preferences > trackpad> "double-click speed" to slowest in order to get my double tap to hi-light anything again. Is there something wrong with my mbp? Or is there a way i can save the settings when i put the double-click speed to slow so that it wont reset every time my mbp needs to be woken up or restarted?

The new Photoshop CS5 extended software can run on 64-bit.
I know it also depends on the processor's firmware. Will my iMac be able to run Photoshop CS5 (comes out June 30th 2010) in 64-bit mode?
I have Photoshops CS6 and Photoshop CC on my 2012 MBP running Mavericks
Is there a way to make CS6 my default and not Photoshop CC, for all PSD files

View 9 Replies View RelatedI had a trial of Photoshop and I purchased it on disk. I arrived and I tried to install it, but the serial number wouldn't work. I called Adobe and they said it was because I had a trial. I tried to uninstall it, but it wouldn't work, so I drug everything to the trash. Now when I try to install Photoshop from the disk, I get this error: Critical errors were found in setup for Adobe Photoshop CS4: undefined
The installer database is invalid: please re-install the product from the original media Please see the Setup log file for details. Click Quit to exit Setup.
It doesn't appear to recognize that I'm holding down command-S when it boots. I'm thinking maybe it's because the keyboard isn't wired to the computer. This is a 6-month-old iMac running 10.7.3.Â

I was just using my Macbook normally and it came up with an error like IP was in use or something with the red exclamation mark. The my internet stopped working so I just restarted it. Now my Macbook is literally not working? I can turn it on but when I get to the login screen, my mouse or keyboard are not working! So all I can do is hold the power button to turn off. It appears OSX is still running fine though because the screen dims after a while and the flashing | in the name input bar is still flashing.
View 10 Replies View RelatedSo recently my keyboard and trackpad stopped working after a restart, none of the keys or the trackpad worked, however, the power button works for some strange reason. I haven't installed any software previous the restart, it's strange why this is happening.
View 7 Replies View RelatedFor about a week i'm having some problems with my mac pro.(osx 10.6.8 / 2.66 ghz quad-core intel xeon / 6GB 1066MHZ DDR3 / Nvidia Geforce GT 120)Â
Sometimes, when working in photoshop, the image i work on becomes black or grey so i can't see anymore what i'm working on. Other times one of my screens (I work on two screens) seems to freeze... when i start clicking around on that screen the screen gets 'messed up'. As you can see in the attached image (screenprint of my mail). The same thing now also happens with vimeo or youtube videos. And sometimes my browser even gets completely black.Â

I could not use the type tool to create 'live' text on a layer. With the type tool selected I get the following error message when clicking to begin typing: "Could not complete your request because of a programme error." I quit Photoshop then attempted to launch the application by opening the file. The application opened but the file wouldn't, giving the same error message. I quite Photoshop again and relaunched the application from the Dock. The applicatiuion opens fine but displays the same error message (before I have attempted to open a file). With a file open I checked the type palette, where the dafault typeface is shown as Myriad Pro, but the default settings are: Type size: 1ptLinefeed (leading): 1ptKerning: 1Tracking 1Type height: 0% [code] Some odd settings there. The type tool bar (at the top of my display) has blank fields. Typing desired values into any of these fields doesn’t resolver the issue.I have tried restarting, creating a new file but to no avail.

I just recently bought a NETGEAR WNR3500L 300Mbps + gigabit ethernet port. I keep hearing that my airport card should handle 300 Mbps just fine. But when I enable it on my netgear router settings my going to "Uo To 300Mbps" from default "Up to 150Mbps" I get horrible bandwidth...like 8Mbps. If i choose 150Mbps, everything opens up. I am going to figure out why 300Mbps mode isn't working.
View 14 Replies View Relatedi was instaling updates when the computer froze, and so I restarted it. A white screen with a bunch of jibberish appears every time I do. In the center it states " You need to restart your computer. Hold down the power button for several seconds or press the restart button."
I've tried doing both, as well as a number of key combos to restart the computer. No matter what I do, I end up with the same screen with the same message.
Now, in the background of that message.. with all of the 00x001Aie9 type of lettering is the word "panic", twice. Wondering if that may mean anything? If it's in some sort of panic mode?

Ok... So, I have an extremely slow Time Machine backup. Many people do. I've gone through the motions and tried to resolve the issue by doing the suggested restart in Safe Mode. I even followed some of the other tips that are on this string: slow time machine backupÂ
Nothing has worked. I don't use Norton Symantec but I didn't the Norton Remove script through the Console already. I don't run any anti-virus software. Â
This started when I was backing up to at Time Capsule. I backed up to the TC for years before this started. I then moved to backing up (started fresh) to a external HD connected via USB.Â

I have a macbook pro 15-inch, Early 2011 running osx 10.9.4. I have a SSD hard drive that i installed myself a year ago and hasn't shown any defects. Its a 120 gb OCZ-AGILITY3.Â
My macbook will only boot in safe mode nowadays. I have done a complete erasion of my hard drive and installed osx mavericks twice already. After the installation the computer will safely go to the desktop. But if i then do a reboot it won't get further than after the first apple logo, sometime the turning wheel will pop up, before turning off and trying again. i have tried resetting PRAM, I have tried resetting SMC, i have tried avoiding SMC (with big fan rate), but all with no success.Â
I have done a complete hardware test (the longer one) and it showed "no troubles found".Â
My guess is that the problem is with the battery. My computer won't run anymore without the adapter, when i pull the adapter out it either stays on for a while before just turning off. Without having it plugged in it won't start. Is it possible that during normal start up there is some kind of communication with the battery that can cause this?Â
I ran a diagnostic shown in this thread (Will only boot in safe mode) and included it in this post.

Opening CC2014 Photoshop files keeps throwing up error screens warning of a 'strtable error'.
Having just moved to the new MBP and at the same time upgrading to CC2014 means I'm not even clear on whether the file issue is an Adobe or Apple message.Â
Clicking 'OK' on the warning screen allows the file to open seemingly without problems, but it obviously doesn't promote a relaxed attitude to file integrity.Â
I've read suggestions that the issue is related to files having the wrong extension, but that's not the case here. Some of the files are legacy files from CS Photoshop; but many are created in the last few days by the same CC2014 PS app that's trying to open them.Â
