I have been using a Wacom Bamboo for a while now and always have it in Mouse mode.
Since I upgraded my iMac to SnowLeopard, the Bamboo Pen/Mouse mode always resets back to Pen Mode after I have booted my iMac which is verrrry annoying - especially since I have a dual-monitor setup!
I have already tried to install the latest drivers for the Bamboo but this has not resolved my problem.
Has anyone else seen this problem and possibly know how to solve it?
I was using my Macbook Pro, finished, put it to sleep and left for a few hours. When I came back it was off. I try to turn it on and the power light comes on and I can hear the disk for about 3 second and then it just shuts off again. I searched the apple support site for this problem and I've done these things. [URL]. I play computer games on it and often the battery would drain. I would plug it in when the 10 minute warning came up, and the little light on the MagSafe plug would turn from green to amber. Lately it had been turning back to green even though the battery icon on the screen said the battery wasn't charged, sometimes the computer would even shut down even though it was plugged in (again, it was plugged in and the light was green, even though the battery icon said it wasn't charged). Maybe it's related to my computer not turning on?

View 3 Replies View Relatedso i've been having an issue with the double tap to hi-light any text i wish to copy. Such things as double tapping the URL bar to hi-light the whole url so i can just retype w/e site i want to go to. Every time i restart or turn off or my mbp goes to sleep and i reopen it, the double tap function resets. So i'm forced to go to the system preferences > trackpad> "double-click speed" to slowest in order to get my double tap to hi-light anything again. Is there something wrong with my mbp? Or is there a way i can save the settings when i put the double-click speed to slow so that it wont reset every time my mbp needs to be woken up or restarted?

Ok... So, I have an extremely slow Time Machine backup. Many people do. I've gone through the motions and tried to resolve the issue by doing the suggested restart in Safe Mode. I even followed some of the other tips that are on this string: slow time machine backup
Nothing has worked. I don't use Norton Symantec but I didn't the Norton Remove script through the Console already. I don't run any anti-virus software.
This started when I was backing up to at Time Capsule. I backed up to the TC for years before this started. I then moved to backing up (started fresh) to a external HD connected via USB.

Safari will not allow me to enter full screen mode. This is a new occurrence as it has always worked before. When I either click on the two arrows on the top right of the browser or go to View > Enter Full Screen the browser makes a sound and remains the same.

I restarted my computer, and when it booted back up the clock was reset to Dec 31 2000. I did not change the clock, and my control settings are password locked.
Should I be concerned about this, and has this happened to anybody else?
Anytime I quit Safari, it starts up again. If I quit it a second time, it will stay dead and won't restart itself. This includes when I am trying to restart my Mac; Safari and everything else quits, but then Safari immediately re-opens and cancels the restart (or shut down). I have to quit Safari a second time and then initiate the restart again. Why is this happening? Why might it happen with ANY app? I'm afraid it's due to something I did/installed to keep Safari alive, but I can't figure out what that might be or how to make this stop. I'm currently using Safari 5.1.4?

I ran Software Update to install the update to Safari (4.0.5), and after it installed, it went into the portion where it needs to restart the computer. Where it installs after the OS shuts down, the update FAILED, and the computer restarted. After restart, Safari and Mail will NOT open, they go straight to the crash report prompt. Airport is connected, but opening Chrome will not get online. I'm led to believe the update corrupted something, because everything errors out, and I can't get anything done.

Safari at the top of screen doesn't have the "quit safari" available. For the last 3 days I will be in an application (safari 4,actually) and the app will give me the beachball. I have seen the beachball many times in safari 4 so I would just force quit the app. Well in doing that its still shown with the blue dot under it on the dock, aswell as in the force quit menu. I go to open another app (say iphoto or firefox) and I also get the beachball, and I try to forcequit the app, and it will not force quit. Only way to cure it is to manually restart my macbook pro. (I have a unibody 2.4 macbook pro btw_). I have repaired permissions. Deleted and reinstalled safari and ran weekly/monthly scripts via cocktail.

Every time I restart (close and reopen) Safari, I receive a pop-up stating "Your Safari extensions have been migrated."
When I look my my extensions in Safari Preferences, they have all been disabled... (and most aren't even there!)
I will re-enable the extensions, and everything is good... until I close/exit Safari and open it again, when I receive the migration pop-up and have to start all over again.

One day I was using my MBP open and external monitor hooked up. Everything was fine until the internet went down suddenly while I was using iChat.
My airport wouldn't see a network and after a couple restarts and a few resets my airport finally connected to my network. Once connected it would only issue a self-assigned IP, which obviously wouldn't work.
I was able to get around this by manually entering in the correct info but the speeds were low at best, usually pausing and stalling every minute.
After frustratingly trying get it to work, I entered clamshell mode because there was no reason at the time to have dual monitors. Once I did, viola, the airport kicked in and started working full force. It's been this way for about a month now.
My laptop is a MacBookPro5,1 with a 2.8 GHz processor and 4 GBs of RAM.
I've read that airports will have serious degradation issues if overheated and while that may be the issue, it doesn't seem to be the case.
I have smcFanControl installed and the MBP seems to be relatively cool to the touch. The fans never seem to be loudly kicking in and I have it raised on a fan powered cooling pad.
I do, though, use pretty much every port on my MBP. External monitor, speakers, both USBs, and firewire 800 are all in use, so maybe this is a resource issue or a very area specific heat issue.
When I open safari by clicking on a link in my dock (on the little spring with an @ sign on it), my safari automatically opens in full screen mode. Can I turn this off so that it opens in just normal "windowed" mode?
