View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a friend who is looking to buy a new MB Pro 15". Can the base 15" model w/ the integrated NVIDIA video handle Photoshop, or should she go the next step up with the dedicated video card? I am not a Photoshop user, so I don't feel I could give her a credible recommendation.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI had a trial of Photoshop and I purchased it on disk. I arrived and I tried to install it, but the serial number wouldn't work. I called Adobe and they said it was because I had a trial. I tried to uninstall it, but it wouldn't work, so I drug everything to the trash. Now when I try to install Photoshop from the disk, I get this error: Critical errors were found in setup for Adobe Photoshop CS4: undefined
The installer database is invalid: please re-install the product from the original media Please see the Setup log file for details. Click Quit to exit Setup.
First post here but a long-time reader. Just noticed something that reminds me of win XP like 7 years ago. Images in Preview and Safari have a completely different colorcast than in Photoshop. AKA system is showing colors way off. Any ideas ? This bug has been verified so far in two different systems with CS3 and CS4 and it is very real. I'm using calibrated monitor with a profile of 2.2 gamma.

So I'm wondering whether it would be possible to remove all traces of PS on my laptop to sort of start from scratch again?.
Installed mac os lion now Microsoft word and photoshop not supported.
View 1 Replies View RelatedFor about a week i'm having some problems with my mac pro.(osx 10.6.8 / 2.66 ghz quad-core intel xeon / 6GB 1066MHZ DDR3 / Nvidia Geforce GT 120)Â
Sometimes, when working in photoshop, the image i work on becomes black or grey so i can't see anymore what i'm working on. Other times one of my screens (I work on two screens) seems to freeze... when i start clicking around on that screen the screen gets 'messed up'. As you can see in the attached image (screenprint of my mail). The same thing now also happens with vimeo or youtube videos. And sometimes my browser even gets completely black.Â

I could not use the type tool to create 'live' text on a layer. With the type tool selected I get the following error message when clicking to begin typing: "Could not complete your request because of a programme error." I quit Photoshop then attempted to launch the application by opening the file. The application opened but the file wouldn't, giving the same error message. I quite Photoshop again and relaunched the application from the Dock. The applicatiuion opens fine but displays the same error message (before I have attempted to open a file). With a file open I checked the type palette, where the dafault typeface is shown as Myriad Pro, but the default settings are: Type size: 1ptLinefeed (leading): 1ptKerning: 1Tracking 1Type height: 0% [code] Some odd settings there. The type tool bar (at the top of my display) has blank fields. Typing desired values into any of these fields doesn’t resolver the issue.I have tried restarting, creating a new file but to no avail.

I'm thinking of getting the new 13-inch MacBook Pro soon, but I'm wondering about cases and bags. I was looking around (not hard, and only online thus far), but I haven't stumbled upon and sleeves with handles. The Incase Sleeve Plus is still too big and bulky (strictly speaking, I mean appearance, not actual size and weight; one without a flap going over it, just a zipper).
I am newly converted. My laptop was old and I needed something to handle high res RAW images. I am the proud new owner of a MBP 15 inch, with a 2.8GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor. I am wondering if I can also hook this up to my monitor, mouse and keyboard that I use with my Windows machine. My monitor has both a DVI input and VGA, the VGA is still available

I believe that I shut down my macbook but was mistaken and it did not shut down completely. The next day I opened it up and the screen wouldn't turn on like it usually does after simply being closed without powering down. I wasn't around to use it till a day later, being today, and I thought it was just a low battery problem. Now the battery is fully charged and yet it is still in the same state.
There is one light on but it is not bright like it is when sleep mode is not taking place. Also, it sounds like its running; I can hear the fan running but both the keyboard and screen are refusing to turn on. I've gone on the apple support page and have attempted what they suggest, but it didn't work. I don't use any plug in devices like a mouse, the only things I plug in are the battery charger and my IPod.
the top row of keys, "q through o" are not working. the left shift also is unresponsive.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI've been experiencing the following problem with my late 2007 MacBook Pro: I can't use it on batteries. As soon as I disconnect power supply, it works for 10-15 minutes and switches off. Not sleeps, but suddenly turns off completely. The system battery indicator drops by about 10% (showing 85-90% battery charged), whereas 4 out of 5 LEDs are lit on the battery itself. After such a sunned switch-off, I'm not able to start again the laptop - it doesn't react on Power On button - like the battery wasn't inserted at all. Right after I plug on power supply back again, everything gets back to normal and I can use it normally, but still only if it's connected to the electricity.

View 1 Replies View Relatedno restarts, updates or changes) my 3 and 4 finger gestures stopped working. Google led me to this thread: [URL] Seems several people had this problem and there are two solutions posted in that thread. The one I tried first, and it worked, was to create a new user account and switch to it. The gestures worked fine in that account so I tried my original account again and all was good. I deleted the new account and things are still back to normal so far.
View 1 Replies View Relatedmy new 2010 MBP just went to hell on me. All of a sudden all my factory installed software such as ical, dictionary, stickies, photobooth stopped working. They wont open in any way, either dock or applications. I've deleted plist, repaired disk permissions and repaired disk... nothing. Third party apps, safari and iphoto work. But iphoto froze when I open it. Apple wants me to reinstall the OS but I would like to avoid if possible.
