How do I change my appleID security questions?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI recently got a letter from apple that my apple ID birthdate/security questions & answers had been changed. I think this was because of a previous letter that told me I had to update my account with the new security features, but I don't recall.Â
Anyway, I decided to check on the appleID site, got logged in, changed my password successfully, but I couldn't see how to change the security questions or answers - and the answers I did try submitting weren't accepted.Â
So now I'm stuck: my account is OK, my password is OK, but I can't remember the security answers and can't see how to change them.Â

This has happened over the past few days. I've attempted to make new purchases both in the App Store and on iTunes. I'm queried for my Apple ID, then I'm asked to enter three new security questions and answers. When I complete this step, I receive a message that the App Store (or iTunes, depending on where I am) is "temporarily unable to process" my request and to try later. I've even reset my Apple ID password, logged out, logged back in, and attempted a purchase, but to no avail. I've run into the same problem attempting to purchase new apps on my iPhone and iPad as well. Updates to previously-purchased apps work, but not new purchases.Â

Was updating some iOS apps, when the App Store (assuming it was the app store), requested my password a second time, and then proceeded to request security questions and answers..It looked like pushing, and since I'd not heard of Apple instituting this procedure I elected not to input the information.Feedback submitted to Apple on this..

I have recently begun to use a fios router for my home network. When originally set up by fios they set the security to wep, and I set my network prefences as such. Since then I have changed the router to wpa security My network prefences still shows that wep encryption is being used. It still connects to the net but I can't figure out how to change it to reflect wpa security. Or since I am connecting to the net , is it necessary.

I don't have the Missing Manual for Mavericks yet. So I often look up topics in the MM for Lion. He mentions something on page 510 about "closing the backdoor" so hackers can't 'Ping" an idle or sleeping computer. The Security Preferences in Mavericks don't seem to address this. Has the new OS got built-in security for this. Wiping an HD clean, installing fresh OS and then restoring preferences from a TImeMachine backup.Â

I configured my MacBook Air to request a password after the screen turns on in "Security And Privacy". But then I realised that can change this option without unlocking the padlock. Here is a screen picture. I think is a very important security problem.Â

I have just updated my Adobe Reader and now I can't download and open pdf files anymore.
I tried going through the preferences in Reader, but it says that the setting is tied in with 'security administration' settings on Mac OS X.
I have not actually changed anything in the settings so am assuming that this is something to do with the most recent update to either Adobe Reader or OS X security.

I just purchased an Airport Extreme (802.11n) to replace my old Linksys router (so that I can have wifi). After I have everything installed, I went to Symantec's Security Check page and ShieldsUP! page to make sure my connection is secure.
[URL]
To my horror, Symantec says that one of my ports is OPEN (ICMP Ping), while all others are CLOSED. In my limited understanding, this is definitely not the most desirable situation--not as good as my old Linksys, whose ports are all reported as STEALTH. ShieldsUP! just said that I failed because of the open ICMP port.
My questions are:
1. Is this the best Airport Extreme can do?
2. Am I safe?
3. Can I change any settings to make my network more secure?
I can't find much info from Apples' documentation and the Support website.
Why the apple app in my Imac Keeps asking me for 4 questions everytime I try to download anything?

ModNote: Please use this thread for all questions related to the differences between the $29 SL upgrade and the $169 box set, including who needs to buy which, whether the upgrade is truly an upgrade-only or will work on other Intel Macs, etc. Bear in mind that the answer to some of these questions may not be known with certainty until SL is officially available in stores. --mkrishnan
Hey,
With all this talk of Snow Leopard being $29 for current 10.5 users, I do wonder does this mean Apple will make an upgrade DVD ($29) and separate full version DVD ($129)?
The reason I ask is because they are always careful to point out that current LEOPARD users get it for $29, they do not say it is for everyone at that price and there are plenty of people with Tiger who meet the requirements of 10.6 (my Aluminum iMac came with Tiger pre-installed and a Leopard drop-in DVD in the box).
Or perhaps they will require Leopard installed in order to perform the upgrade or the user to put in a Leopard DVD to prove they own it or something?
Or maybe I am just reading too much into this and it will be $29 for the full version we can install any way we please without special restrictions?
I am just semi-worried because if Snow Leopard was going to be $29 for all mac users they would not specifically go out of their way to keep saying that "Leopard users would get it for that much" they would instead say it will be "$29 for current mac owners" or just "it will be $29", what do you guys think?
1.) Does anyone have this printer and if so what do you think of it?
2.) It does say it is compatible with mac osx 10.6 so that is good. But also it says it requires internet explorer, which I want no part of haha.
I plan on getting it for my girlfriend for her birthday coming up because she is a heavy printer user due to school. She loved that it had a 7 inch detachable tablet. (I hate it because its android but hey its for the lady)
Any help is appreciated.
