I recently got a letter from apple that my apple ID birthdate/security questions & answers had been changed. I think this was because of a previous letter that told me I had to update my account with the new security features, but I don't recall.
Anyway, I decided to check on the appleID site, got logged in, changed my password successfully, but I couldn't see how to change the security questions or answers - and the answers I did try submitting weren't accepted.
So now I'm stuck: my account is OK, my password is OK, but I can't remember the security answers and can't see how to change them.

Was updating some iOS apps, when the App Store (assuming it was the app store), requested my password a second time, and then proceeded to request security questions and answers..It looked like pushing, and since I'd not heard of Apple instituting this procedure I elected not to input the information.Feedback submitted to Apple on this..

ive been having this problem for over a week now and i cant seem to find an answer on how to fix it.i recently downloaded a file which had some vsts in it(demo's)i installed them but ever since then i cant get past the initial desktop screen on my macbook pro.(you know just before your icons pop up on the desktop screen)
i keep getting the spinning wheel.
now ive tried every command under the sun to rectify this but its not working.its been suggested to me that i should boot from my install disk but after moving countries i lost it.i did happen to get a mac osx disk from a friend of mine but this only lets me get into a sreen where i can perform actions in disk utility and a few other irrelevant actions.i know what file has done this and i just want to be able to get into my harddrive and delete it.i was also under the impression that if i had a copy of osx i could boot from it.this to me meant that i could use my computer normally but bypass the internal startup but maybe im wrong in assuming that.
im at my wits end and very close to bringing it into a shop where ill more than likely be charged to have them do something i feel might be a simple fix.

I recently got my computer fixed and ended up getting a new one. it is a mac book laptop. I changed the password before it got sent and i completely forgot it. They backed my new laptop up with my old hard drive so now i got my old stuff on the new one. I want to download this application so i can fix this .zip file but i need the admin password. I've tried using the install discs but they tell me to enter the admin. I've tried putting the install disc in and pushing c on start up but it just freezes on the white screen with the apple. Is there something wrong with my computer? should i contact the insurance company who i dealt with?

My Mac won't boot. It goes to the screen with the apple and loading circle, but doesn't go past that. I've got WIN7 installed on bootcamp, so I can access that, but when I hold down option, Macintosh HD appears as EFI BOOT. I've used disc utility from my installation disc. When I've checked the permissions, it has failed. It also fails normal verification, saying "incorrect block count for file temp555244.".
I was able to select repair disk once, but that failed as well. That would say "missing thread record (id=554666),
keys out of order,
rebuilding catalog b-tree,
stopped repairing because filesystem verify or repair failed."
Someone suggested I open terminal and enter "fscl_hfs -fy/dev/disk1s0" While it ran the common and gave me a bunch of what seemed like options (r to repair btree, etc) i couldn't do anything from there. I tried entering "fsck and then /sbin/fsck -fy" as apple suggests on their site, but that did nothing.
Here are my specs:
15" Macbook Pro, Mid 2009, 500GB HD, 4GB RAM, 2.8GHZ Processor Mac OS X (10.5.8)
I was having similar problems a few days ago, when windows crashed as I was transferring files across partitions using macdrives. I had snow leopard when that happened, and reinstalled leopard. It worked fine after the reinstall, but the next day I started having these problems, which are similar in nature to the inital ones.

Using the calculator in OS X, enter "-2/3", (minus two divided by three). What do you get?
My calculator reports that answer as 0.666. (Positive NOT negative which is the correct answer). Is anyone else having the same problem? The calculator is giving out wrong answers! I have calculator version 4.2 running on 10.5.8.

I got the this Error while trying to partition my hard drive after deleting my boot camp partition and then trying to make my Macintosh HD the full 250gb... Partition failed with the error: Could not modify partition map because filesystem verification failed. After I got this error I went to the "first aid" tab in disk utility and tried to "repair disk permissions" then try it and got the same error...

MBP 2012 running on OSX10.9.3 crashes frequently. Disk Verification gives an error during "Checking extended attributes file." and asks for reboot and repair. No error could be detected and no repair would be done when DU is run during restart.

I use Google 2-step verification. With my upgrade to Yosemite, all my text messages that previously only went to my iPhone now also appear on my Macbook Pro. In general that's fine, but it's a big security problem. If anyone gets my computer then they immediately have access to all my 2-step codes because the codes will be sent to my Macbook in addition to my phone. Previously I only had to worry about one device (my phone) and but now there is a big problem with my computer falling into the wrong hands.
Is this an attempt by Apple to stop people from using Google 2-step verification?

ModNote: Please use this thread for all questions related to the differences between the $29 SL upgrade and the $169 box set, including who needs to buy which, whether the upgrade is truly an upgrade-only or will work on other Intel Macs, etc. Bear in mind that the answer to some of these questions may not be known with certainty until SL is officially available in stores. --mkrishnan
Hey,
With all this talk of Snow Leopard being $29 for current 10.5 users, I do wonder does this mean Apple will make an upgrade DVD ($29) and separate full version DVD ($129)?
The reason I ask is because they are always careful to point out that current LEOPARD users get it for $29, they do not say it is for everyone at that price and there are plenty of people with Tiger who meet the requirements of 10.6 (my Aluminum iMac came with Tiger pre-installed and a Leopard drop-in DVD in the box).
Or perhaps they will require Leopard installed in order to perform the upgrade or the user to put in a Leopard DVD to prove they own it or something?
Or maybe I am just reading too much into this and it will be $29 for the full version we can install any way we please without special restrictions?
I am just semi-worried because if Snow Leopard was going to be $29 for all mac users they would not specifically go out of their way to keep saying that "Leopard users would get it for that much" they would instead say it will be "$29 for current mac owners" or just "it will be $29", what do you guys think?
