Feb 8, 2012I read here that scan software for the HP OfficeJet 4215 under OS 10.5 was being tested and almost ready for release. That was in October, 2009. I can't find it anywhere. The HP download site says that the scanner function of the 4215 is not supported under 10.5. Does anyone have suggeestions on how I can get the scanner to work? Everything I try says, "No Image Capture Device found."

Sep 23, 2010My HP Scanjet 3970 has never been to happy with my Mac running snow leopard. But it has always worked in the end. But now maybe because its OSX 10.6.4 it just wont recognize the scanner is there.
Anyone know of a way around this? I can't even remember what I did last time, I know it tok days but I got there in the end! I don't use the scanner much, and this one is perfectly good, so I really don't want to have to get another one.

Apr 27, 2010A few days ago I finally upgraded my iMac G4 (Flatpanel) from 10.4.9 to 10.4.11. I had not printed or scanned anything since then, but today I needed to do both, and they don't work. I think it has something to do with the upgrade because they were working just fine before that.
The printer is an Epson Stylus 777i
The Scanner is an Epson Perfection 640U
What could have changed, and how can I get my Mac and peripherals to work together again?

May 19, 2005I have a Epson Perfection 636u scanner from 1999 and am thinking of getting a new iMac. On the Epson support page, it lists the newest driver from 1999 and says that it will work on Macintosh system 7.5 to 8.6. (here is a link http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/s...s&platform=All). Any chance of this working on Tiger? I don't see myself buying a new scanner because I use it just a few times per year.

The scanner portion worked fine prior to the update, now an "Unknown Error" constantly occurs preventing me from scanning documents. Image Capture doesn't even recognize there is a scanner available. I have downloaded the most recent driver from HP, (2007), but it still does not work. Will I have to wait for HP to build a new driver specifically for Leopard?

Dec 6, 2009I'm using the printer that came with my Mac when I bought it, last year. (Photosmart C4385 All-In-One)
After working fine, suddenly, the scanner doesn't want to work. Another computer in the house, a HP Desktop seems to work fine, but as far as my far superior Mac, I get a scan error message. this happens in both wireless and connected. The printer is working fine in both wireless and connected methods.
Worse, HP is no longer allowing for on-line support via chat for Mac users! Then when trying to call them, they say that their call centers are not available. It almost seems as if HP doesn't want to hassle with Mac related problems.
Are any of you having similar issues?

May 7, 2012Lion does not recognized HP Scanner. Lion initially recognized the scanner and it worked perfectly for months. All of a sudden communications with the scanner stopped. I have checked the USB cable and it is working properly. I am using Bootcamp and when I boot in Windows the scanner and computer (iMac) work perfectly. I have downloaded, removed and reinstalled the HP software and update for Lion. When I go into System Preferences > Print/Scan, It sees all other printers and scanners including another HP printer scanner.
