Apr 19, 2009I've been having a strange problem with album art not showing up in Front Row. Inside of the iTunes program I have gone through all the songs to see if they have album art and they do, it shows up in fine in iTunes. However, with certain songs in Front Row they do not show up. I was wondering what the problem would be here. Does the actual song file have to have the art embedded or something like this? Has anyone else had this issue with their album art not always showing up in Front Row?

May 19, 2009Alright so I downloaded a season of Lost on iTunes and two of the episodes were mislabeled. Episode 13 should have been 16 and 16 should have been 13. So I swapped all of the info but the episode description did not change. It is correct in iTunes, but when I switch to Front Row the episode descriptions are incorrect. Is there a way to edit "info" in Front Row or make it recognize changes in iTunes? I was under the impression that it would do this automatically. Not sure what is wrong here.

I'm confused by the limitation -- though I heard that Mac OS9 could only recognize up to 1.5gbs of ram.

Feb 20, 2012DVDs and Cds burned by my husband's iMac are showing up as empty and unburned on my MBP (model 3,1). The disk is seen, but accompanied by a burn icon, and I am offered the option to burn it but told there is no content so burning it will produce an empty disk. I saw these burned and everything seemed to be normal. The disks were given titles, which showed up on his machine, but on my MBP they are "Untitled".

Software :: Front Row Plays Audio But No Video?
May 8, 2008Having an odd problem with Front Row. I have a G5 w/ dual 2GHz processors running the latest of Leopard. I've seen a lot of complaints about FR with laptops, but not much with towers. The menu system and interface works fine, but when I select a trailer to view, it comes up, but no video, only audio is playing. On other boards, some have said that it gets flaky with dual-monitor set ups, which I have. Does anyone know if Apple is aware of this problem and is trying to work a solution? Is there something I can do on my end to coax it into working?

May 23, 2012I created several calendars on my MacBook and placed them on iCloud. I can view the events on my iPad and MacBook, but when I logged onto icloud, that calendar is empty for June and July with only one event for August. Do I have to add these calendars again to the iCloud??

Nov 16, 2009Updated my late 2007 iMac to 10.6.2 and after that every time I pop in a DVD or CD into the optical drive it spins up and then I get a dialog box that tells me that I have put in an empty disc and the question what I want to do. Jan 7, 2010When I empty my trash they all delete except 2 particular files. They have weird names with symbols in them. I don't know if it matters but when I press get info it says they are in the Windows XP .Trashes folder. I used a hidden file application to look for them and delete them but that didn't work. I can't drag them out the trash can. There is nothing showing in Windows XP in the recycle bin. I tried verifying the disk. Overall, nothing has worked at all and I've searched everywhere for an answer.

But, if i use sudo open -t /etc/hosts OR $ sudo nano /private/etc/hosts It doesn't give me any error, and it also opens the HOSTS file. But its empty! Im using MAc Osx 10.5 Any ideas of what's going on?

Feb 3, 2010My problem is with 300+ files in 2 folders that are left over from mac 9. They are in the trash, and are now locked, utterly. When I try to empty the trash, the error message says "The operation cannot be completed because you do not have sufficient privileges for some of the items." As you may know, when dealing with multiple "disks" (read: partitions), Mac X puts a .Trash or .Trashes folder on each disk. The trash folders on my computer are located on the following paths:
/users/(my name)/.Trash
/volumes/HD_1/.Trashes/501.................

MacBook Pro :: Unable To Delete DS_Store File / File Keeps Popping Up On My Desktop
Nov 29, 2007I am relatively new to the Mac. I have a Macbook Pro 2.2GHz. Today, a file keeps popping up on my desktop. It is named .DS_Store. The icon looks like a text document. I won't open it cuz I'm afraid of what it is, lol (Windows still clogging my brain). Anyway, I can drag it to the trash and delete the trash, but after a bit, it reappears.
Any idea how to get rid of it?
Software :: Can't Delete A Locked File - How To Delete
Sep 30, 2000After I installed OS X I decided to go through my other partitions & do a little spring cleaning. In all, I trashed over 400MB of crap, but one file has refused to be deleted (it's a locked file left over from the old 3Com ISDN modem I had). When I try to empty the trash I get the following message:
"The operation cannot be completed because the item 'IQ320.BIN' is locked."
So, I look through the system help & find out that I either need to log in to OS X as the user who created the document ('root') or restart into OS 9 & unlock it from there.
Well, neither tactic has worked thus far. I restarted into OS 9 but found out that I can't access the file because it's in the trash (in OS X), which is an invisible directory (/Langly/.Trashes/102/). So then I restarted into OS X, logged in as root, but I still couldn't delete it. Desperate, I opened terminal, switched to root (su) found the files, but still can't delete the darned file. I tried rm, mv (thought if I moved it to somewhere that OS 9 could see it...), even chown, but each time I got "Operation not permitted." Any thoughts out there?
